Chapter 212: Chapter 224: Exchange of Venue (1)
Percy slammed the microwave door shut with a loud "snap," turned his head, crossed his arms over his chest, and looked at his son Raymond with his chin, asking, "Raymond, have you finished your homework?"
Raymond moved his lips as if to speak, then stomped his feet, dragged his school bag, and walked towards the door. After taking a few steps, he turned his head as if remembering something and asked, "Father, can I borrow your computer?"
"Hmm." Percy was busy heating up the food and responded vaguely.
Raymond carelessly threw his school bag and water bottle on the ground before running to Percy’s study room.
Once Percy finished heating up the meals, he came out of the kitchen and saw the bag and kettle strewn across the floor. Frowning slightly at it, he picked up the bag and kettle, placing them aside on the table, before walking towards the study room.
As it was getting dark outside, no lights were on in the study room. The only light came from the faint blue glow of the computer screen. Raymond knelt on a chair, focusing on the screen but occasionally bending down to jot something down on a piece of paper.
Percy flipped on the study room lights, walked over, and glanced at his son’s crooked handwriting on the paper: Tips for a movie date.
Percy’s brow twitched, then he took Raymond to dinner directly. After eating, Raymond still had movie date tips with Isabel on his mind, making him distracted while doing his homework. He even tried to send a WhatsApp message to Isabel while Percy stepped away to fill up his water cup; however, Percy caught him in the act as he returned.
Raymond carefully put the mobile phone away, looked nervously at Percy, picked up his pen, and continued doing his homework.
Percy casually held his water cup while watching his son, occasionally pointing out his son’s typos.
After Percy pointed out the errors five times, he finally lost his patience: "Raymond, you’re not focusing tonight!"
Raymond pouted and checked his phone, which remained silent. He then hung his head and continued writing, only to make another mistake.
Percy knew his son’s little tricks all too well, so he scolded once more, "Raymond, how many times have I told you to focus on what you’re doing? Your body is here doing homework, but your heart is with Sister Isabel. How can that work?"
Raymond lifted his face from his notebook, the desk lamp’s bright light illuminating his smooth and tender-looking skin. His long eyelashes cast beautiful shadows on his eye sockets, and his red and full lips moved slightly, "Father, what if I stay with Sister Isabel in person while keeping my heart here for homework, is that fine?"
As soon as Raymond finished speaking, Percy’s face immediately darkened. Holding back the urge to throw his son out, he called out Raymond’s name in a gentle and elegant tone, followed by a brief pause, then continued, "Please pay attention to my main point. I’m talking about not focusing on your homework, not discussing where your body and heart can be."
Raymond sat at the table, looking at Percy and not daring to speak. He knew his father was angry, but since he was a smart kid, he decided to admit his mistake before Percy got even angrier. Although he was extremely reluctant, he pursed his lips, his glass-like eyes slightly moving as he said sincerely, "Father, I’m sorry. I was wrong."
After admitting his mistake, Raymond still defended his distraction, "Father, I’m just a little nervous because I haven’t prepared for the movie date with Sister Isabel the day after tomorrow."
