Chapter 211: Chapter 223: Lovers Also Have Self-esteem (8)
"Thank you, Sister Isabel." Raymond ate with a shy blush on his cheeks, saying, "Sister Isabel, these are the best fries I’ve ever had because you fed them to me."
Percy Stanton glanced at his son crunching his fries and, for some reason, felt an urge to snatch the fries out of his son’s mouth.
Isabel, however, was amused by Raymond’s charm and smiled. When the two of them laughed, they looked somewhat similar, perhaps because they were so close to each other.
Both of them had curved eyebrows and eyes, with a faint dimple on their cheeks that appeared and disappeared.
Percy clearly remembered that when he first held Raymond, the boy would either cry or make a fuss. Later, when he finally learned to smile, a shallow dimple appeared on his cheek. At that time, everyone in the Thompson Empire Group who saw it commented:
"Raymond’s mother must have dimples too."
"It’s rare for a boy to have dimples."
"When Raymond grows up, he’ll definitely be a handsome boy with dimples."
Curious about who Raymond’s mother was, he occasionally stared at girls with dimples that he saw on Main Street, wondering what she would look like.
But after thinking about it for five years, the only detail that remained in his mind about Raymond’s mother was that shallow dimple.
The car slowly approached the underground parking lot. Raymond jumped out of the car as soon as it stopped. He quickly opened the car door for Isabel like a young gentleman. He then took her hand, not waiting for his father to get out of the car, and led her directly to the elevator.
Raymond was a bit short but still tiptoed to press the elevator button for Isabel. Watching his gesture, Isabel couldn’t help but feel touched. She thought what a lovable and sensible child Raymond was and wondered how he could not have a mother.
That night Percy had said that women were irresponsible, so perhaps Raymond’s mother had abandoned them. How could she be so heartless? If Isabel had a child as adorable as Raymond, she’d be overjoyed, let alone think about abandoning him!
Just as the elevator door was about to close, Percy managed to step inside. On the way up, Raymond suddenly remembered his date with Isabel and reminded her, "Sister Isabel, don’t forget the day after tomorrow you promised to watch a movie with me."
"I remember." Isabel bent down to smooth Raymond’s clothes and said, "See you at six o’clock that afternoon. Don’t forget, Raymond!"
"Don’t worry, Sister Isabel, I’ll keep my word. I’m not a two or three-year-old anymore!" Raymond spoke with conviction.
Isabel couldn’t help but want to laugh. She patted Raymond on the head, stood up, and said, "Goodbye, Raymond."
"Goodbye, Sister Isabel." Raymond waved reluctantly to Isabel, and as he was about to speak again, Percy grabbed the back of his clothes and dragged him into their already open house.
The hourly nanny wouldn’t be coming tonight, saying on the phone that the meals were already prepared and only needed to be heated up.
Percy locked the door and went straight to the kitchen to heat up the food.
Raymond changed his shoes and didn’t even have time to put down his school bag and kettle. He quickly followed behind Percy, and then asked seriously, "Father, why were you with my Sister Isabel today?"
Percy ignored his son behind him and poured the food directly into the microwave box.
Raymond puffed his cheeks and complained to Percy, "Father, I had my eyes on Sister Isabel first. Don’t you be thinking about doing anything to her."
