Chapter 83: A date with you [2]

Knox’s smile slowly faded and his face crumpled after noticing their positions. He blurted out the wrong, "Why are you sitting over there?"

Azrael blinked. He was momentarily lost at Knox’s lovely appearance. He just grinned and maneuvered the car out of the parking lot already. Knox yelled at him, "Hey! Kayden said don’t strain your hand! Stop the car and let’s switch!"

"This much won’t hurt. Besides, I can’t tell you where we’re going, so I’m driving. Sit back and just relax. I’ll drive safely," Azrael answered and winked at Knox.

He sighed in relief after Knox didn’t insist. The reason he took the wheels was precisely because he noticed a car black car following them from behind ever since they left the mansion.

’Even here, that f*cking car is following us. Are they father’s dogs?’ Azrael wondered as he peeked at the side mirror, catching a glimpse of the white car tailing them. He already called Roy to cut their tail, so as soon as they left the hospital’s parking lot and the car rolled onto the highway, Azrael stepped on the accelerator.

Knox was surprised by the sudden increase in their speed. He turned to Azrael with questioning eyes. "You just said you’ll drive safely..."

"This is still considered safe, dear Knox. Don’t be worried. I won’t do anything that may harm you, you know?" Azrael replied, flashing an innocent smile to Knox.

From the rearview mirror, he could see a black car overtake the white and stall between them. Whenever the white car would change lanes and try to overtake the black one, the black one would follow, obstructing the white car’s view and path.

Azrael increased the speed more. "I can’t wait to take you there, so I’m speeding." He casually lied to Knox when the latter started to be concerned by their speed. Once they lost Roy and the car tailing them, Azrael slowed down. He chuckled when he heard Knox sigh in relief quite loudly.

He earned a glare from the omega, so he pressed his lips together and just suppressed his chuckles.

Soon after, they arrived at their destination. Knox looked at Azrael dumbfoundedly, waiting for an explanation. However, the guy unbuckled his seatbelt and stepped out of the car without speaking, whirled to his side, and opened the door for him.

Knox reluctantly stepped out as well. "What are we going to do here?" he asked as he glanced around.

The place was bustling with people probably because it was the weekend. Azrael shamelessly parked the car in front of a confectionary store. The owner saw the car and stomped outside, grumbling toward Azrael, "Ey, go park your car somewhere! You’re blocking my business!"

Azrael spoke intimidatingly, "How much is your total sale a day?"

The owner frowned in confusion, "What?"

Azrael repeated impatiently, "How much is your total sale a day?"

"Wha...why are you asking that?! I make tons of money a day! So, move your car and don’t disturb here! I’ll report you to the—

The owner’s babbling stopped when Azrael handed out his business card. Baffled, the owner grabbed the card and his eyes almost jumped out of his sockets when he read the company and the cardholder’s position under the capitalized name. He gulped unconsciously; his forehead began to form sweat as he forced a crooked smile.

Azrael spoke then, "Send your bank details in that email. I’ll pay for your day’s sale, so watch my car instead. How about that?"

The owner’s eyes gleamed comically, as though they turned into dollar symbols and zoomed in the card they held. Stammering, the guy answered, "O-Of course! I’ll watch it for you! I’ll make sure it won’t get towed or get carnap! You can count on me!"

"Good. If I see any scratches, I’ll—," Azrael noticed Knox listening at him from the side, "I’ll make sure to have it repaired immediately."

The owner, puzzled, gave Azrael a funny look. Then, afraid to upset the rich and powerful man, he just nodded enthusiastically in agreement, "Oh! Sure, sure! Have it repaired quickly, sir!"

Azrael spun and pulled Knox away after.

Knox was still wondering why Azrael brought him to the central shopping district where streets are filled with stores of different products and items. They were in the street full of sweets and bakeshops, but Azrael continued walking on the narrow road until they stopped in front of the clothing bazaar.

Knox pondered to himself as he let Azrael drag him inside, ’Is he going to buy clothes? The prices are cheap even though the clothes look trendy and comfortable. For a billionaire, he sure is a tightwad. What happened to the man casually giving away a car as a peace offering?’

"What do you think about these?" Azrael caught his attention, waving a shirt still on the hanger at him.

It was a dark green round-neck sweatshirt with a printed speech bubble shaped like a white cloud, with the words ’I’m yours’ inside.

"It’s cute and simple," Knox replied honestly. He grabbed a gray sweatshirt as well and read what was on the same printed design loudly, "You’re mine."

A high-pitched voice came to them, "Oh my~ those are couple shirts! They’re cute and comfy, and it certainly suits the two of you! They resemble each of your eyes! It’s a great pick! Would you like to purchase it now?"

The vendor beamed when Azrael agreed. He snatched the shirt from Knox, followed the vendor to the cash register, and paid for it. "Do you have a dressing room here? I’d like to change to them now."

The elated vendor quickly answered, "Of course, of course. There at that area, you can change in that place." She pointed at the corner of the store where only a foldable partition made of wood and painted parchment was the cover.

Azrael crumpled his face. The vendor started to feel nervous seeing the dismay in her customer’s face. She quickly remarked, "T-That’s the only changing area here. But don’t worry, you can’t be seen...I mean, your body, at least won’t be seen!"

The alpha looked as if he’d argue more, so Knox quickly pushed him behind the cover and ordered, "Stop complaining now. What do you expect in buying in places like these? She was kind enough to put up a changing area like this, you know?"

Azrael raised his brows, "What? Isn’t it only normal to have a changing area inside a clothing store?"

"Well, that’s true, but that’s only for bigger stores. Normally, people will just choose, try them over their clothes, then pay."

"I told you I want to change to them already," Azrael insisted. He took off his shirt and hung it on the foldable partition, then he took the sweatshirt from Knox waiting by the side of the cover, looking away from him.

He grinned playfully, pulling Knox to him.

Knox gasped and hissed after, "What are you doing?!" Because of the sudden pulling, his hands landed on Azrael’s bare chest for support. He tried his best not to stray his eyes from Azrael’s gaze, but the solid and warm body underneath his skin was tempting him to look down. Knox quickly took his hands and put them on his back, but then Azrael just pulled him even closer, bringing their chest together.

"Hey, quit it!" Knox struggled, but the alpha just lowered his head and whispered against his ear, clearly seducing him.

"This is the purpose of changing areas for couples, isn’t it? They help change each other while playing around and flirting inside. Then, they’d steal kisses or share a passionate one while feeling nervous about being caught or interrupted by the staff," Azrael teased, deliberately blowing air at the back of Knox’s ear.

Azrael’s hot breath sent shivers down his spine. He bit his lower lip and bravely lifted his hand, placing his fingers back on the alpha’s solid chest. Knox knew there was nowhere he could pinch as his body didn’t even have excess fat, so he pinched that part instead.

"Ow!" Azrael jumped away; both of his hands on his right nipple covering it. He looked at Knox with astonishment, mixed with amusement and accusation. "You’re a sadist. It hurts, Knox."

Turning his back to Azrael, Knox replied, "Serves you right. Can’t you see the cover only reaches up to your shoulders? The vendor had been staring at us since earlier!"

Azrael clicked his tongue after the vendor abruptly averted her eyes when he looked at her. She pretended to arrange her items while whistling as if she wasn’t caught staring red-handed.

Azrael grumbled as he muttered lowly, "I should write a petition for all stores to mandatorily provide a proper changing area for customers."

Knox just shook his head at the alpha’s childishness. He was frowning even after he finished changing. His brows knitted and his eyes were slightly slanted. Knox giggled like he used to whenever he found Knoa frowning about disliking something.

Azrael pestered him to change as well, so without any choice at all, he wore the gray sweatshirt. They put their clothes in the paper bag provided by the vendor.

After that, they passed another store selling wigs and winter coats, when Azrael pointed at them and wriggled his eyebrows sending him a ton of expectant looks, Knox snapped. He quickly dashed and ran away.
