Chapter 79: Find out the cause of the bull’s behavior!
The female beta servant wearing a maid uniform consisting of a black dress with white trim, a full skirt below knee length draped with a white apron with deep and wide pockets underneath, sported a nervous face as she silently and carefully swept the broken pieces of the vase on a dust pan.
Her eyes darted at the reddish liquid that tainted the shiny granite tiles, a huge contrast to the floor’s stark white color. She dared not lift her head, as the man behind the desk emanated a dangerous aura. The room was suffocating enough from the lingering pheromones, but the maid had no choice but to do her job.
She flinched and almost jumped in surprise after the door opened.
A man in a dark bluish suit entered, bowed to the man ninety degrees, and spoke after straightening his body again, his face crammed with sweat and nervousness, "Chairman, all the men I put on the CEO’s tail were found unconscious, and barely breathing in an alley down the night district. They lost him so we have no idea where he went—
"USELESS!"
The man in the suit flinched and bowed his head much lower than before. The maid picking the destroyed flowers beside him trembled and hitched her breath. She seemed to be having difficulty breathing but the man in black ignored her.
He was in no position to help another when his head was on the platter that might be stabbed any time now. The man before him, Rage Del Valle, was none other than the owner and founder of the DV Group of Companies.
The infamous business magnate managed to build his business empire at a young age and even made it bigger and bigger through the years, expanding and incorporating new businesses. From a small company owned by the chairman’s father; it became a group after Rage took over.
However, only a few know that behind that success; sweat, tears, and blood were spilled. Not his own, but his enemies, comrades, and even families.
Rage Del Valle is the complete personification of ambition, cruelty, violence, greed, and wickedness. A dominant alpha that sits at the very top, looking down at the people he deems insignificant and useless.
If it is something that doesn’t benefit him, then he’ll throw it out; if it’s someone he finds unusable and unworthy, then he’ll cut them out of his life. He finds no contentment in the things he achieves and always thrives to be more powerful and richer.
But somehow, at that time, he was having an inner conflict as he stared at the man bowed before him. If only his son was as docile and obedient as these fools, then I won’t have a problem dealing with him! Rage thought to himself.
He tapped his fingers on the desk in a rapid and unrhythmic manner, showing his vexation over the things that occurred.
Unconsciously, he blurted out in a voice filled with anger, "How dare that kid threaten me with his life?! That ingrate!"
He slammed his fist on the table so hard that the books in the corner fell on the floor, leaving another impactful sound that made the male servant and the maid flinched once more. Rage Del Valle roared, "Get someone to tail him again! I won’t accept any failed job this time! And bring someone unaffiliated from the Montgomery Agency to investigate Azrael! I wanted to know what’s making him act like this. I want answers as soon as possible!"
"Yes, sir!" the man in the dark blue suit answered louder.
Rage waved his hand and dismissed the servant, who then bowed and scampered away. The maid quickly wiped the dried blood on the floor with the wet rag and picked up the books once she finished. Then, she nervously excused herself to the chairman after placing them back above his desk.
Meanwhile, inside the dressing room of the Actress Elise Chen, was her female beta manager on her knees, begging Elise to help her. She was fired by the Idol Entertainment management for acting recklessly and putting Elise’s reputation down.
She was slapped with tabloids and posts on social media containing negative rumors and comments about Elise Chen having a terrible way of handling her staff and letting them amok and hurt innocent people.
These rumors somehow affected Elise Chen’s popularity and small news outlets are taking in whatever they could get to keep their papers running.
This led to the management firing the female beta manager to assuage the fans and the public.
"Please, Miss Elise, this is the only job I know how to do! The management fired me but if you hired me as part of your personal glam team, I can keep my job and continue working as your manager!"
"That’s not how it works," Elise dejectedly answered. She sported a sad smile at her former manager, and added, "They already assigned someone they deemed more capable and responsible as my new manager. I’m afraid I can’t hire you as it might put the new manager into an awkward situation. And, hiring you as part of my personal glam team...well, aside from buying me coffee and complimenting me every day for my looks, what else can you do? Do you even know how to put makeup? You don’t even wear one yourself."
"But I can learn—
"And the main reason why you were fired was because you dirty my reputation. Isn’t that why? Acting recklessly is not it, the thought that someone violent and irresponsible was working for me is what only the public sees. They don’t see or care about the reason why you did that. What they want is for you to be gone so my name won’t be involved with a bad manager’s behavior. I hope you understand," Elise said in a dismissive tone. She whirled her chair to the mirror and checked her eyebrows.
The manager was rendered speechless. She believed that Elise Chen would help her and at least provide her with a stable job, but she only didn’t care about her kneeling on the floor, she even insulted her discreetly!
Is she a fool who can’t understand her words? The manager seethed in anger. She glared at Elise who was busy combing her hair. Her hands balled into fists while thinking about how to drag her down on her high seat.
The door of the dressing room opened and a man in casual clothes came in followed by a girl carrying a dress. They halted at the entrance after seeing Elise’s former manager kneeling on the floor.
Elise sighed and grabbed her wallet; she took a few bills and gave them to the former manager while saying, "This is the only thing I can give you. You should leave now. You’re delaying my work."
The woman took the money begrudgingly. Then, she stood and walked out while muttering to herself. The other two at the door couldn’t hear her words properly, but they sweated from the deadly look in the woman’s eyes.
The female stylist entered and spoke as she hung the dress, "Maybe you should hire someone to guard you for the time being, Miss Elise. I don’t feel good about that person."
Elise flashed her sweet smile, "It’s fine. She isn’t like that. She’s probably just so upset about what happened. I also feel bad for her. I felt guilty, since it was because of me she was fired."
"Oh, it’s not your fault, Miss! I heard what happened. You’re so kind so you probably didn’t expect your manager’s behavior as well. I’m glad nothing happened to you."
"Right. Thank you for your concern," Elise smiled. She looked apologetically at the stylist and ordered, "Can you please get me some water first? I suddenly feel parched."
"Oh, sure! Wait a minute!"
After the stylist left, Elise faced the guy in casual clothes acting like a staff and asked, "So, what did you find out?"
The guy whose name was Owen, was the man Elise hired to stalk Azrael. Owen responded, looking quite dejectedly, "I haven’t found anything strange, Miss Elise. He goes to work at eight and returns home at seven. Ah! He visited the hospital because his right hand was wounded. He—
Elise sprung from her seat and exclaimed, "What?! Why is he wounded?!"
Owen was a bit startled for a second. He straightened his back and immediately responded, "Ah, ah, I think it was when he visited his father’s home, Miss Elise. He came out with a bleeding hand so an accident must have happened inside. But his wound was treated immediately. After that, he went back to his company and then went straight home."
Elise sighed in relief. "Did he not meet anyone these past few days? Diva, did he meet that woman?"
Owen shook his head. Elise beamed and nodded her head, showing her delight at the news. She spoke again, "Continue stalking him. If there’s someone he meets outside of business, then investigate that person and report to me."
"Yes, Miss."
"You’re excused."
"Yes, Miss."
Owen stepped out of the room after that. Passing by a trash bin, he took off the lanyard holding a card with the word ’staff’ in capital letters on it and threw it into the bin. After that, he went directly to the DV Group’s main company and waited until the Azrael Del Valle made his way out.
He was feeling so nervous stalking a powerful man at first, but after a few days of not getting caught, his nerves calmed down and now he was sitting in a café opposite the company building, watching everyone who entered and left.
Once he spotted the familiar car roll into the entrance of the building and the CEO’s secretary stepping out of the passenger seat to open the door to the backseat, Owen also prepared to leave. But as his usual findings, Azrael Del Valle would only go straight home.
Owen sighed in disappointment. His boss won’t be happy hearing the same report every day. However, a few days later, after the news broke that almost shook the whole country, Owen spotted a red Mercedez Benz, driving inside the CEO’s mansion.
