Bound To The Ice Dragon King -
Chapter 73: Moved by her
Chapter 73: Moved by her
After leaving Aria’s room, Rhea and Draven returned to their own room. Upon entering, Draven inquired, "You mentioned having a method to locate the establishment. What method is that?"
"Wait and observe," Rhea responded as she entered the room and proceeded to close the windows, creating a dim atmosphere. She then lit the two wall lamps, casting a warm golden glow throughout the room.
Draven raised an eyebrow, displaying his curiosity. "What exactly are you attempting to do?" he asked.
"I am seeking an easy route," she answered, "but if you persist in questioning me, I may become distracted by your voice and end up taking you to bed by force. If you wish to avoid that, I suggest you remain silent and observe."
"..." Draven slipped his mouth shut even though he had many more questions to ask her, the words stuck in his throat, and he simply observed what she was doing.
Rhea made a circle on the room floor with a piece of coal, she then positioned herself in the middle and sat down. Seeing her actions, Draven could already tell what she was about to do. She wanted to summon the ghost again.
This time, even before Rhea could instruct Draven to stand beside her, he’d moved to position himself by her side. She glanced at his feet and smiled faintly, it seemed they don’t need much words to understand each other. Knowing he was beside her, she closed her eyes and started muttering some words under her breath.
Rhea entered the otherworld, known as the mirror of the living world. In contrast to the vibrant and lively living world, the weather here was typically dreary, devoid of life, and cold. Distant cries filled the air, causing Rhea’s hairs to stand on end. She scanned her surroundings, hoping to catch a glimpse of Johanna’s ghost, but the woman was nowhere to be found. Eventually, Rhea had to approach a wandering teenage ghost and asked if she’d seen the ghost.
"A malevolent spirit matching your description entered a building yesterday, but she never returned. I believe she has been sealed away." Said the teenage ghost.
No wonder the ghost hadn’t bothered her all these days, it turned out she’d been sealed away. Rhea thought. She continued to ask, "Where was she sealed away?"
"I have no idea, but I know she has been wandering around a huge establishment up ahead. If you want, I can show you the place."
Rhea was quick to nod, if she knew the place here, it would be easy to find it’s location in the living world. She followed the ghost, who took her to a huge gloomy building. The teenage ghost floated around Rhea in circles. "Miss, why are you looking for that ghost? She has turned mean and evil, she even strangled me with her evil mist." She complained with her tiny voice.
Rhea replied. "I’m looking for her because bad people are doing bad things to dragons in this building. I want the ghost to help me with something."
The teenage ghost nodded her head, expressing understanding. "Ah, I understand now. In this place, all the dragons are being slain. In the past, there weren’t as many souls in this world, but presently there are a lot, and most of them are dragons. They wail everytime, and their nature is becoming malevolent. It is truly frightening, causing unrest among the human spirits."
When Rhea heard the ghost’s words her eyes brightened up. "You said they’re a lot of Dragon ghosts here?"
"Mhm." She hummed in response and continued to float around Rhea.
"Can you help me call three of them?" Rhea asked.
The teenage ghost nodded, "Yes, I know one of the dragon ghosts. She’s my best friend, I’ll go and find her for you and also look for two more." Saying that, the ghost happily floated away. While Rhea continued to wait for her return.
Meanwhile, outside the living world, Draven quietly watched Rhea’s profile. He could solely hear her speaking, but he was unable to see or hear the other person. She appeared deeply absorbed in her thoughts, her expression reflecting a grave demeanor. Although she presented herself as rebellious, her seriousness conveyed a sense of dependability, making one feel at ease. However, whenever she spoke, everything fell apart.
Not long, the teenage ghost returned and happily called out to Rhea, "Miss, I told all the dragon ghosts that you want to destroy that establishment and save dragons, and then all of them came along. Are you satisfied with my help?"
Rhea was taken aback. What? They all came along! To do what? Rhea didn’t even have time to tell the teenage ghost to send them back before she was surrounded by floating translucent figures. They all formed a circle around her.
Rhea nervously glanced at the translucent figures around her, they all had some resentful air, she couldn’t help but swallow hard. "Good...evening to you all."
The tiny voice of the teenage ghost floated it’s way through the many ghosts, "Miss, it’s was nice meeting you. Take your time with the Dragons, I’m leaving. Bye!"
Rhea didn’t know weather to thank the teenage ghost or to scold her. She’d only asked her to call three and she brought all of them. Rhea looked around, they were so many she couldn’t count them.
So many...the fire controllers had taken many dragons lives.
"You want to go against the fire controllers?" One of the ghost’s asked.
Rhea replied, "I am not going against anyone, I just want to save innocent people. And I also want to help my friend to steal the powers the fire controllers are using to make the elixirs."
Draven, who was standing outside was stunned at Rhea’s words. He glanced down at her tightly shut eyes. She was talking to no one he could see. She had always said she wouldn’t help him get back his powers, and that she was doing this just to save innocent people and investigate the matter of her cousin. She had never mentioned one word about helping him get his powers. But it turned out she always had that in mind. He crouched down and gazed at her face.
Those words she spoke didn’t seem to mean anything to her. However, his heart that had been frozen cold and unmoved for decades suddenly skipped a beat. It was a tiny beat, but he felt it himself.
Rhea, oblivious to the intense stare of the person outside, continued to speak to the ghosts. "I want you guys to help us get there. We will all work together to get the rest of the dragons out of there. Are you all willing to help?"
The ghosts didn’t even hesitate, they all answered at the same time. "Yes, we are!"
Their eyes were filled with raging hatred, as if they’d consume any soul that stood in their way. "Then let’s make our plans!"
