Bound To The Ice Dragon King
Chapter 61: My sweetheart

Chapter 61: My sweetheart

Draven heard her curse under her breath. "Hell be damned, I’ll be doomed if those men catch me!"

Without warning, Rhea tugged on Draven’s sleeve and shoved him into a corner. She guided him through a series of twists and turns until they emerged onto a different path. Rhea breathed a deep sigh of relief, but didn’t explain to Draven what that was all about until he asked.

Draven raised an eyebrow, curious. "What have you done to provoke those thugs you were avoiding?" It seemed that trouble always followed Rhea wherever she went, and she wouldn’t go out of her way to avoid a group of men unless she had somehow offended them.

Rhea casually waved her hand, dismissing the situation as if it were insignificant. "I had to steer clear of them. They’re thieves, so I tricked them and used my skills to take back all the gold they had stolen, then returned it to the rightful owner. It’s not important, really. Explaining it would only slow us down. Let’s keep going." With that, she swiftly grabbed his sleeve and led him away.

They strolled past several elegant mansions until they reached a distinctive building that stood out from the rest. It was situated in a secluded corner of the city.

"We’re here!" Rhea announced excitedly. However, Draven was taken aback when he looked up at the particular building she brought him to. Atop the rooftop was a huge sigh board that reads; "Welcome To The Den of Pleasure."

"This is the place where I come to earn money," Rhea mused, her voice filled with enthusiasm. Nevertheless, a profound frown formed on Draven’s forehead upon hearing her statement. Did she really say that this was where she came to make money?

His blue eyes landed on the balcony, where a group of attractive young women were sitting, dressed in revealing outfits that barely concealed their bodies. So, she came to a brothel to earn money? With that realization, Draven’s frown grew even more intense.

Goodness gracious. Was that why she was always so shameless and bold to say inappropriate words? And with her love for money, she actually went as far as to sell her body in a place like this. For some reasons the thought made his blood boil in anger, he clenched his fists without even realizing it. He suddenly felt the urge to destroy the building at the thought that another man had laid their hands on the person possessing his core.

"Let’s go inside." He heard Rhea said. But he didn’t move and stood rooted to the ground. What made her think he’d go with her into a place where she’d done immoral activities? Where she’d shamelessly disrespected his core with another man.

Gosh! Why was the thought annoying him this much?!

Rhea paid no attention to Draven, who, for some unknown reason, did not follow her. In fact, she completely ignored him and walked ahead. However, she stopped when she noticed the women on the balcony. She composed herself and called out in a deep voice, a tone she had never used in Draven’s presence before.

"Hello, attractive ladies! I have arrived!"

The women, who were engrossed in gossip on the balcony as there were no customers yet, suddenly heard a familiar voice. They quickly looked down to identify the source. Their eyes lit up as if they had seen the most important person in the world.

"Oh my goodness, look who we have here today. It’s our infamous Lord Malcolm, returning to us!"

Draven was taken aback with the way the women addressed Rhea, and the manly tone she’d used just now. He glanced at her questioningly but she didn’t bother to explain to him.

Rhea used the same manly tone to respond to the beautiful woman. "My beautiful, Ivy, and charming Zoe. Did you all miss me? I miss you all so much I want to squeeze you in my embrace!"

"We’ve missed you greatly, Lord Malcolm. Where have you been?" Ivy inquired, noticing Draven standing beside Rhea. She examined his appearance, which seemed slightly out of place with his pale skin, attractive blue eyes, and well-built body. Leaning on the railing, she curiously remarked, "Hmm, Lord Malcolm, where did you find this handsome man? Whose son did you deceive into becoming a homosexual?"

Draven’s eyes narrowed further. What was happening here? Why were they assuming he was gay? Unless...could this girl be pretending to be a man at the brothel?

Rhea shifted her gaze towards Draven, winking at him before responding to Ivy’s comment. "Oh, let’s not go there, my lovely Ivy. This man has given his heart and soul to me. He has pledged his loyalty to me alone. Despite my countless rejections, he has chosen to stand by me through thick and thin. And you all know, it’s because I possess an irresistible charm that transcends any gender."

Draven’s eyes almost fell out of its socket. Him, gave his heart to her? Pah, he would rather eat dog shit than give his heart to someone like Rhea, not just her, but any woman again. Without even realizing it, he spat out. "Stop shamelessly speaking nonsense."

Rhea raised an eyebrow, finding amusement in the situation. She moved closer to him and wrapped her arm around his, pulling it close to her chest. "What? Am I speaking nonsense? Have you already forgotten? Last night, you crawled onto me on the bed and wouldn’t let go of me even after I let you have my body for the entire night. But today, you’re denying me? Your heart changes faster than the winter weather."

Draven felt like he was going to vomit blood at Rhea’s shameless words. "You...!" he began, but she cut him off.

"Yes, my sweetheart," she said, flashing him a seductive smile. The women on the balcony laughed at the scene, covering their mouths in amusement. But Draven quickly pulled his arm away from her grip and gave her a sharp glare.

Rhea didn’t continue to tease him again and looked up towards the women. "My lovely ladies, I’m here to see your mistress. Is she around?" She asked.

"Yes, I think she’s in the other part of the building. Come in and check her room."

"Thank you, ladies. I will see you all later," she said, waving as she walked into the building. Along the way, Draven spoke up from behind. "I’m surprised. It seems like you’re involved in flings as well. It’s not a good path for a young woman like you."

"What?" Rhea turned to look at him. "Let’s say your accusations are correct; so what if I am involved in flings? I’m not your wife or anything for you to advise me on which path to take. It’s my life, and I can do whatever I want with it. Unless you want to join me in these flings, don’t bring it up again." She huffed, but her arrogant behavior only seemed to annoy Draven.

"You seem to be forgetting something, young lady. I haven’t divorced you yet, so technically you’re still my..." Draven stopped mid-sentence, realizing what he was about to say. Where was that coming from? She was Jurian’s wife, not his. Damn it! Why was he acting like her husband? What did it matter to him what she chose to do with her life? She was merely a tool to help him achieve his desires, so her life was technically none of his business. So why did it bother him so much?

"I have no relation with you, dragon. If it weren’t for this bond, I would have left you a long time ago. So don’t interfere in my personal affairs, and let’s us work together to stop this elixir business in the capital."

Yes, she was right. That’s how it should be. Draven thought, swallowing his words and closing his mouth in silence.

The duo proceeded to stroll through the hallways. Any girl who passed by them would giggle at Rhea and exclaim, "Lord Malcolm!" In response, Rhea would wink and wave at them. She even adopted a masculine walk and blew a kiss in the air when another girl walked by. However, Draven chose to ignore her actions and pretended not to notice the change in her style, such as tucking her dress into her pants to appear as a man. In reality, she looked rather like a rag doll.

Unbelievable. He thought.

Rhea, on the other hand, didn’t care about anyone’s opinion, not even Draven’s. Most of the girls in the establishment knew she was a woman, but they played along with her antics. She disguised herself as a man to gamble with men who wasted their money on women. Only in this particular establishment in the capital did people accept her for who she truly was, without mocking her or making her feel inferior.

If the dragon’s core hadn’t chosen her as its vessel, perhaps she wouldn’t have to act strangely or abnormally. And yet, he had the audacity to try and advise her on her choices, even though he was the main reason why she had to adopt this persona. Rhea thought to herself.
