Bound To The Ice Dragon King
Chapter 45: Indirect kiss

Chapter 45: Indirect kiss

As the creature neared the pond once more, Draven shut his eyes as though calling upon magic. Instead, he utilized the connection between Rhea and himself to communicate through telepathy.

"In one strike, shape an ice sword with your ice spikes and aim for its head," he directed. Nevertheless, Rhea, who unexpectedly heard his voice in her mind, was startled and astonished. Her eyes widened in disbelief.

How on earth did he do that?!

"Hurry up!" Draven urged her. Rhea’s shock dropped immediately she noticed the bony head of the creature getting closer to the water. In this situation, she had to be careful and not alert the other shadow stalkers who had left already. But then, Draven was expecting her to make a sword with her ice, which she’d never done before. Furthermore, she had to do this while holding her breath underwater!

She couldn’t.

Rhea tried to speak internally perhaps he’d also hear her, "I don’t know how to do that." And to her utter surprise, he heard her as well and replied through telepathy.

"It may seem difficult, but you have the powers to do it. Just follow my instructions."

Rhea glared at him before saying, "Alright, if I follow your instructions and I fail...I swear to the heavens, I will hand you over to the creature in exchange for my life."

Draven shot her a pointed look, "Are you serious? If you hand me over, it’s like giving yourself away. Hurry and do as I say."

"You...!" She held back her words, this wasn’t the situation to argue with him. She swallowed her anger and asked him what to do next. Draven instructed her on how to make the sword. She did as he said and stealthily condensed ice on her palm, her body started to slowly freeze up.

Draven could feel the girl in his arms becoming colder, freezing cold, but he didn’t let go. Contrarily, he held her even tighter. He like this freezing cold. He was originally a dragon who favoured cold out of anything. His body was supposed to be the same freezing temperature as this girl in his arms.

However, now he constantly felt like there was no use in life, living without his cold temperature was immensely suffering. That was also the reason he’d soak himself in ice some nights. It was only when he held Rhea, drink from her blood, or feel her body temperature close to him that he could relax. She was the only one who made him feel like living as a human wasn’t so painful, and she felt more like his home.

Cold and relaxing.

Draven understood that for his current self, Rhea was his only cure and also his poisonous addiction. Nevertheless, it didn’t matter to him if she was good or bad, he’d never allow her to leave him. It might be selfish, but he didn’t care.

While Draven was lost in thoughts, Rhea’s ice had formed into a long, sharp sword. Her eyes glimmered in astonishment as she saw the sharp weapon in her hand. She’d never made anything close to this apart from her spikes.

"Kill it!" Draven said.

Upon receiving his instructions, immediately the creature submerged its head in the water, Rhea acted without hesitation and promptly inserted the sharp sword into its forehead. The weapon successfully penetrated its head but did not pass through the back.

The shadow stalker’s eyes widened, and it’s body became rigid before it fell into the water with a loud splashing sound. It’s corpse slowly floated down the deep pond. Rhea’s eyes followed it until it was completely out of sight in the darkness.

If the circumstances didn’t call for it, she wouldn’t have had the heart to kill the creature. Furthermore, it was a crime to kill any of the shadow stalkers in Birhhan.

As Rhea was feeling remorseful, she suddenly felt her lungs burning for air, Panic set in as she realized she needed to get some breath. "I think I’m in urgent need of breath." Rhea transmitted to Draven, "I can’t seem to hold my breath for long anymore!"

"Relax, using the core’s powers consume it’s strength." He mused, then said, "You have to endure it for awhile."

Rhea’s already pale complexion turned even paler, "I can endure pain, but this isn’t something I can endure, my lungs are burning. Take me to the surface so I can breathe, I promise to stay hidden, only my nose will break the surface."

"You just killed one of the shadow stalkers, am sure the rest are on their way running back here. You can’t go up yet." He said firmly.

Rhea couldn’t hold it in anymore, she desperately needed air, her head was pounding along with her heart, her limbs were slowly losing their strength, and her face was pale white. If she didn’t go up to the surface, although they’d evaded the creatures, she would suffocate to death.

Rhea desperately hit at Draven’s hand around her waist to make him let go, but he didn’t budge. She immediately started to pry at his fingers, but she hadn’t finished prying away his fingers when Draven suddenly let go of her. His hand went behind her head, forcing it upwards, without any hesitation, he pressed his lips against hers.

Rhea was caught off guard, her eyes widened in shock as she felt his soft lips pressed on hers. Draven wasn’t the least bit courteous towards her, sealing off her mouth with his, she felt his warm tongue pushed into her slightly parted lips, forcing her mouth to open, before he transferred a breath of cold air to her. It seemed he feared that wasn’t enough and added two more balls of cold air to her mouth through his.

Time seemed to slow down as they remained locked in this life-saving embrace, their bodies intertwined in the depths of the water.

Rhea’s body gradually relaxed, her eyes closing as she felt Draven’s breath invigorating her, giving her the strength to keep functioning underwater. She savored the taste of life on his lips.

Although, he had only pressed their lips together and also used his tongue to open her mouth, his action was no less than an intimate kiss. She could feel the cold and warmth from his mouth as he passed her his precious air. Her innocent heart couldn’t help but beat faster against her rib cage as she felt the cold sensation spread into her lungs.

As Draven continued to share his breath, Rhea’s strength returned. She opened her eyes.

In an instant, Rhea swiftly pressed her hands firmly against his chest and forcefully pushed him back. Nonetheless, he merely shifted slightly, maintaining his grip on her waist with one hand. Casting his gaze downwards, he communicated through telepathy, "This will keep you underwater for awhile, now stay still."

He said it so cold and heartlessly as if he hadn’t just harassed an innocent girl, who had never been in such close contact with the opposite gender before. Not to mention being kissed! He literally just stole her first kiss!

This dragon really kissed her indirectly underwater?!

This dragon didn’t like being touched, didn’t like being close to people, but according to his actions now, it wasn’t like that at all. He didn’t even seem to mind!

Moreover, it wasn’t just any kiss, but also had a tongue contact. And his soft lips...

Hell and damnation, she’d been taken advantage of by him again!!
