Bound To The Ice Dragon King
Chapter 100: My husband

Chapter 100: My husband

Rhea and Draven walked out of the street of The Den Of Pleasure. Her footsteps increased, she walked along the road at a fast pace, it was like she was anxiously trying to run away from some invincible forces. In truth, it was because she feared Cal would soon catch up to her as he was aware she had a friend in The Den Of Pleasure.

Just as Rhea and Draven were about to reach the location where they would catch a public carriage, Rhea suddenly sensed the wind becoming stronger. She became alarmed and swiftly halted her steps, and immediately pushed Draven aside. Just as she pushed him away, a blade narrowly missed him and struck the ground where he had just been standing.

Rhea felt her stomach drop as she recognized who’s magic was that, and she turned and saw who threw the blade at Draven. "Cal!"

He’d finally caught up to them again. With his clothes fluttering in the air, Cal stood in front of them, with his long sword, that was emitting flames. His expression was grave and cold as he said, "Rhea, enough of your silly tantrum. Let’s go back home."

Rhea heaved a sigh. Of course, he wouldn’t give up that easliy. "Cal, I’m really not playing any silly games. I don’t have a home in the Villden mansion, I’ve already been given away by father, and I am no longer a Villden now. If I return with you, isn’t it a sin? I’m not going back."

Cal frowned, "Uncle Gerold wouldn’t be so heartless not to accept you back, after all, the general has gone missing. You are still his daughter, you_"

Rhea interrupted, "I am no longer his daughter the day he gave me away for marriage."

"He did that because the Emperor had decreed the marriage. Come back with me, I’ll help you ask for forgiveness from the Emperor, I’m sure he wouldn’t punish you for anything."

"Cal, this matter has nothing to do with the Emperor’s forgiveness." She said.

"Then are you worried about Azure, or Oriana? I don’t believe a word they say about you releasing the dragons last time and for disrespecting Oriana in public. Once I take you back, none of them will bully you again."

"I really did that to her, and I released the dragons as well. And I have no regrets at all. If she tries to come at me again, I won’t hesitate to beat the flames out of her, I’m not scared of Oriana or any body."

"...!"

Rhea pursed her lips and added, "So you see, Cal, it’s not because of them, I just don’t want to go back to that place. Just let me go, I swear I won’t cause any troubles again."

"Impossible," Cal exclaimed firmly, "Do you have any idea what everyone are saying about you in the capital?"

"Yes. That I committed a murder and joined force with our enemies? I’m accustomed to people talking about me," Rhea scratched her neck, "Actually, I don’t care about their opinions or thoughts. They lack any evidence, so if they want to spread rumors, let them."

Cal stared at her in disbelief, "Rhea, you always cause trouble, and it worries me since you were a child. I can’t just return without you now. Come back with me, and I will talk to Azure to persuade the Emperor. We can clear your name from these accusations. I promise," he said softly. Despite his apparent anger, he reached out his hand and said tenderly, "Please, let’s go back home. Come back with me."

Rhea’s expression softened as she glanced down at the hand he extended to her. Cal would always treat her kindly, regardless of what others said about her. The only person who would offer a helping hand to her in Birhhan, despite all the rumors, could only be him.

Rhea’s lips curled into a bitter smile as she gazed silently at his outstretched hand, only for her view to be blocked by Draven’s broad back. "If she doesn’t want to go with you, shouldn’t you just let her be? Enough of your talks, just leave," he said calmly, though his displeasure was evident in his voice.

Upon hearing Draven’s words, Cal remembered that he had come here to take Rhea away from this stranger. He furrowed his brow and scrutinized Draven before questioning, "And who are you to interfere?"

Draven still wore his aura mask, preventing Cal from recognizing his dragon aura. However, before Draven could reply to the question, Rhea snapped out of her dazed state. Hurriedly, she clutched his arm from behind and nestled her head beneath it, making it appear as if Draven was holding her. She rested her head against him and responded to Cal, "He’s my husband. I didn’t want to tell you, but now that it has come to this, I will tell you the truth." She murmured, "In truth, when I was sent to marry the general, I escaped and met this man. I fell in love with him and married him."

Draven, "...!"

It was like a bucket of ice water was thrown over Cal, he froze. He looked completely stunned. "You what..."

Rhea nodded, and resumed to lie with a straight face, "Yes, I married this person. I am now a married woman, we already plan to start our family. And who knows, I might even be pregnant at this moment, if you take me back with you while carrying my husband’s child... wouldn’t that be a sin?"

Draven looked down at Rhea in pure astonishment. She even tightly wrapped herself around his arm, and rubbed her head against him like an adorable puppy playfully teasing him. Although, he knew that Rhea was lying to get this Cal off her back, his heart confusingly seemed to soften, the way she held on tightly to him teased at his body, he felt both tingling and numbness.

In the past, he despised being touched by others and particularly disliked any physical contact with women. However, to his surprise, he enjoyed having Rhea near him. Draven’s mouth curved slightly, and he also chose to go along with Rhea’s plan. He held her and turned towards Cal, stating firmly, "You heard what my wife said. She doesn’t want to go back with you. If you want to avoid trouble, it would be best for you to leave without her." This warning from Draven made Rhea briefly look at him. She couldn’t help but think that his acting was very convincing.

Cal stared at Draven’s cold face and carefully looked him up as he tried to sense his aura. But then he sensed none, right from the start he could tell the man wasn’t an ordinary human with the power he used to hold his wrist in the market. And now that he claimed Rhea to be his wife, Cal gripped his sword and sternly said to Rhea, "This man has no aura, he’s not a human but some creature in disguise, Rhea. Stop trying to trick me, tell me if he’s forcing you to say all these things?" He asked, looking angrier than before, "Aside from the rumors, your aura also smells different, Rhea. And then you tell me not to worry about you while you’re going around with some unknown stranger?"

"He’s not a stranger to me, Cal. He’s my husband, and I’ve made up my mind to go wherever he goes. I’m in love and married to him now, you shouldn’t worry about me, he’ll protect me." Rhea tightened her grip on Draven and even held on to the side of his shirt as if to show Cal that she wasn’t going anywhere.

However, Rhea’s action only made Cal angrier. He pulled his flame sword, "Then let’s see what kind of person your husband is." Saying that, he thrust his sword towards Draven without warning.
