Beneath the Surface: Secrets of an Obsessed Heart -
Chapter 67 - 66
Chapter 67: Chapter 66
"He bought me so many clothes Michi. Suits, shirts, jackets, jeans, pants, hats, glasses, everything I could possibly need." Hiro babbled on to his best friend. "I don’t even think I can even wear them all by the time our agreement ends. Look, he even bought me a phone too. It’s the latest iphone."
He handed Michi the phone, looking quite excited. He remembered having to sell his phone so he could buy food for himself and his siblings. He really didn’t want to sell it but he had to. Now he had a phone that was ten times better than his last one.
"Gosh you’re so lucky." Michi cooed, admiring the pink and white phone case which had little strawberry and red hearts littered all over. Hiro had even attached a strawberry chain to it. "Oh God, I want to have a sugar daddy tooooo."
"Hey what about my brother?" Hiro asked, playfully glaring at Michi.
"Just kidding." Michi chuckled, handing Hiro back his phone. "Your brother is the only one for me."
"Good." Hiro nodded with a smile and then it occured to him what Michi had called Raiden and he frowned. "Hey Raiden is not my sugar daddy okay? He’s my-" He paused, not sure if he should tell Michi that Raiden had now declared them boyfriends.
"Your what?" Michi asked, curious to know what Hiro was about to say but Hiro just shook his head. "Forget it. Have you seen my brother? He said he wanted to speak to me about something important."
Michi shook his head sending his pink locks flying. "He said he was going to the bathroom fifteen minutes before you guys arrived and I haven’t seen him since."
Hiro began to feel worried, hoping his brother had not gotten into some kind of trouble. By the time he and Raiden had finished shopping, it was well past lunch time so they had lunch in the mall and bought some food for Saika and Sora. Saika was asleep by the time they arrived and Sora was nowhere to be seen.
He and Michi were in the sitting room of Saika’s private room, discussing everything that had happened in the last two days. Hiro had poured everything out to Michi. How nice Raiden had been to him and how he realised he may have misjudged him. (Of course leaving out the parts where he and Raiden did some 18+ things.)
He also told Michi everything Shoji said to him and Michi adviced him to observe and be careful for now. Afterall, Raiden seemed more trustworthy than Shoji. After all, the Devil you know is better than the one you don’t.
Michi then playfully nudged Hiro with his elbow. "So tell me, have you two you know," He wiggled his brows in a suggestive manner.
Hiro instantly went pink as he recalled the numerous kisses and the steamy morning but he turned away, mumbling; "I don’t know what you’re talking about."
"Oh really?" Michi giggled but decided not to push further for he knew how thin-skinned his best friend was. "You won’t tell me huh? Well, when it rots, it’ll definitely smell."
"What?"
"Don’t you get it?" Michi asked with a sigh. "It means that I’ll definitely know when you two fuck."
"Michi!" Hiro berated in a whisper. "Keep it down! My sister is right in the next room!"
"Oops." Michi whispered, laughing. "Sorry."
In that moment, the door swung open and Raiden strolled in, wearing a smug smile while Sora rushed in after him, a deep frown etched in his features. It was evident. They both fought again and this time, Raiden won.
Hiro sighed. "Can’t you two just get along?"
Sora scoffed. "Unless he leaves you alone, I can never get along with him."
"Then we’ll most likely never get along." Raiden retorted but the smile never left his face. He had spent the entire day with Hiro, touching him, kissing him, he even fed him ice cream and they were going to go home together where Hiro would sleep in his bed, again. Ah, nothing, absolutely nothing and no one could ruin his mood.
"Brother, you said you wanted to speak to me about something." Hiro said, wanting to separate his brother from Raiden. He didn’t want them to argue and wake Saika up.
Sora quickly recalled what he wanted to speak to Hiro about and he nodded. "Let’s step out for a moment."
Hiro stood up and Sora draped an around his shoulder, turning and giving Raiden a final glare before leaving the room with Hiro.
Raiden didn’t feel disturbed for he already knew what Sora wanted to talk to Hiro about. In fact, it made him happy for Hiro was going to fall deeper into his trap and Sora was going to be the one to push him further into it.
As they always say, the patient dog eats the fattest bone and he had been patient for way too many years.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Hiro asked when he and his brother got to a secluded hallway in the hospital.
"Before that, I want to know, how are you?" Sora asked, gazing down at his little brother who was dressed in new fancy clothes which suited him well. It reminded of the time they were rich and he used to buy Hiro all sorts of stuff. Still, he couldn’t help but be annoyed that it was Raiden who bought him the clothes. "Raiden didn’t do anything to you, did he? Because if he did, I’ll-"
"Brother calm down." Hiro said, taking his brother’s hand in his and gently loosening the tight fist. "Raiden has been nothing but nice to me. You two should stop fighting all the time. I really don’t like it." It was quite frustrating seeing that his brother and Raiden- his boyfriend, didn’t get along.
Sora let out a long sigh, ruffling Hiro’s sandy blonde locks. If only Hiro knew the kind of person Raiden truly was, he would definitely avoid him but there was use crying over spilt milk. Raiden had already saved Saika and Hiro had to keep his word. He didn’t know for how long but he knew he had to do something to get themselves all out of Raiden’s clutches. For the time being, he’d just have to keep quiet and protect his brother the best he could.
