Chapter 62: Chapter 61

Raiden’s heart felt like it had been launched into orbit, soaring high with exhilaration and relief. The weight of uncertainty that had been pressing down on him evaporated into thin air as Hiro’s words reached his ears. His chest swelled with warmth, his breaths steadying into a serene rhythm. The subtle tremors of fear that had rattled his bones moments before now melted away, replaced by an overwhelming sense of contentment.

He pulled Hiro into a tight embrace, savouring the closeness. He couldn’t believe that Hro just agreed to be his boyfriend. Even though it was because he had promised to find his parents, he didn’t care. Even if Hiro didn’t really have any real affection for him, he didn’t care. It was enough if Hiro would just act like they were together. How wonderful it would be to come back from work to see Hiro waiting for him. To have Hiro welcome him and kiss him then have dinner together. For Hiro to willingly do all those things and more was a dream.

Tears of happiness glistened in Raiden’s eyes but he held Hiro close to his chest so Hiro could not see just how much his answer affected him. He couldn’t ever let Hiro know that he was still madly in love with him.

“You’ll really find a way for me to meet them?” Hiro murmured. “Both of them?”

"Absolutely, Hiro," Raiden affirmed without hesitation, his voice unwavering despite the emotion welling within him. "I mean it. You’re not alone in this. We’re in this together, and I’ll move mountains if I have to, just to see you reunited with your parents."

The sincerity in Raiden’s words resonated with Hiro, his grip on Raiden tightening as if afraid to let go of this newfound hope. Tears welled in Hiro’s eyes, but they were no longer tears of despair; they were tears of relief, of gratitude, of the overwhelming emotion that came with knowing he wasn’t alone in his struggle. He never expected Raiden to care about his feelings or even support him but Raiden did. Every time he thought Raiden was scum, Raiden would do something to change the thought.

With a shaky breath, he pulled back slightly, his gaze locking with Raiden’s as he whispered, "Thank you, Raiden. Thank you for being here for me, for understanding. I don’t know what I’d do without you."

Raiden smirked. That was what he wanted to hear. That was what he had been aiming for. To make Hiro dependent on him. To make Hiro feel like without him, there’s nothing. He wanted Hiro to want him. To need him. To come to him for everything, even if it was as little as a grain of sand. He wanted Hiro to be so used to him that Hiro would not be able to part with him after a year.

If Hiro could not truly love him, then he would use that to keep Hiro by his side. He didn’t care.

There was a glimmer of reassurance in his eyes as he gently squeezed Hiro’s shoulder. "You don’t have to worry about that, Hiro. I’ve got your back, no matter what. Now, why don’t you try on a few more of the suits and we’ll go get some ice cream before heading to the next boutique?”

Hiro was surprised. “We’re buying more clothes?”

Raiden chuckled. “Of course. What? Do you want to wear suits only for the rest of your life?”

Hiro frowned, thinking about how uncomfortable it would feel. Raiden couldn’t help but laugh. Hiro was so cute. He playfully flicked Hiro’s nose. “Don’t worry. I won’t let that happen. A suit would be too difficult to get off you when we want to fuck. I might be so impatient that I’ll rip it apart.”

“Ugh must you talk like that?” Hiro groaned, facepalming.

“This is my nature, baby. You better get used to it.” He replied with a wink, making Hiro blush a bright pink.

Did Raiden just call him baby?

“Okay. Let’s get this over with. We still have to go to the hospital, remember?” Raiden said as he helped Hiro off his lap.

Hiro felt excited when he imagined how happy his big brother and sister would feel when he told tells them the good news. Well, Sora might grumble a bit since Raiden was involved but he knew Saika would be extremely happy.

Raiden’s eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as he surveyed the array of suits, each one a canvas waiting to be adorned by Hiro’s charm. With a confident stride, he moved among the racks, his fingers deftly selecting a few more options, each tailored to perfection.

As Hiro tried on each suit, Raiden’s admiration only grew, his smile widening with every perfect fit. He offered gentle encouragement and constructive feedback, his eyes alight with pride as Hiro effortlessly carried himself in each ensemble.

Finally, with the last suit selected, Raiden called in Ruby who began to pack up the selected suits, her grumbles fading into the background for both Raiden and Hiro remained unfazed.

"Alright," Raiden declared, a mischievous glint in his eyes, "Since we’re done here, let’s go get that ice cream, shall we?"

Hiro wanted to agree but he looked at the clothes he had just tried on which Ruby was packing. “But what about the clothes? Won’t we take them with us?”

Raiden chuckled. “No need. The already have my address. They’ll send everything there.” He linked arms with Hiro, a sense of accomplishment radiating from his every move as they walked out of the boutique.
