Chapter 58: Chapter 57

Raiden was upset. Hiro didn’t understand what he meant at all. He wanted to help him dress up from scratch not do Ruby’s job for her. He sighed and began to console himself. It was okay. They had a year. There would surely be another opportunity. There were also many other clothes to try on. He’d be able to fulfil his dreams sooner or later.

With that thought, he began to inspect the rest of the suits, pushing aside the colours that he didn’t like as he waited for Hiro to finish up.

As Hiro stepped into the changing room, he couldn’t help but feel a tinge of excitement mixed with apprehension. He wasn’t a fan of suits and although he thought that constantly changing clothes to see if they fit would be tiring, he still felt a little giddy. It had been so long since he had experienced going to the mall and trying out expensive clothes. Now, he had the chance to do it again. He held up the suit to his body as he stared at himself in the full length mirror. Raiden had chosen the suit for him, and Hiro wasn’t sure what to expect but as he slipped into the garment, he was immediately struck by the luxurious feel of the fabric against his skin.

Raiden definitely knew what he was doing. The material was soft and sleek, draping over his frame with a gentle elegance. Every seam and stitch seemed to mold perfectly to his body, creating a silhouette that was both flattering and refined. Hiro ran his hands over the fabric, marvelling at its smoothness and the way it seemed to breathe life into the suit. It was beautiful on him and it felt amazing.

With a sense of newfound confidence, Hiro stepped out of the changing room, his heart pounding with anticipation. As his eyes met Raiden’s, he couldn’t help but notice the way Raiden’s gaze lingered on him, a look of genuine admiration and awe reflected in his eyes.

Raiden was momentarily speechless, his breath caught in his throat as he took in the sight before him. Hiro stood tall and confident, the suit accentuating his features and enhancing his natural charm. It was as if the garment had been tailor-made for him, each detail chosen with care to highlight his beauty. It reminded him of the times he begged to go to formal parties with his parents just because he knew Hiro would be there and he wanted to see him. He remembered Hiro always sticking to his older brother, Sora. Barely leaving his side. It annoyed the hell out of him but he still went anyway. Seeing Hiro, even if he couldn’t talk to him was a form of healing for him. It made him forget his shitty family and how they treated him. Hiro made him feel alive and gave him hope that there was more to life.

He lived because of Hiro.

"Wow," Raiden finally managed to whisper, his voice filled with admiration. "You look incredible, Hiro."

A flush of warmth spread across Hiro’s cheeks at the compliment, a shy smile playing at the corners of his lips. In that moment, as he stood before Raiden in the perfectly fitted suit, Hiro felt a sense of pride and confidence that he hadn’t felt in a long time.

“Come here,” Raiden said, stretching out his hand for Hiro to take. “I want to see you up close.”

For the first time, Hiro didn’t hesitate. Still smiling, he walked towards Raiden, placing his small hand on Raiden’s palm. He shivered slightly as Raiden’s warm fingers covered his skin and tugged him close. He felt an arm snake around his waist, pushing him flush against Raiden’s broad chest. The next thing he felt was Raiden’s lips against his own but this time, the kiss was soft and sweet, almost like a long peck.

“You’re so pretty.” Raiden said, rubbing the tips of their noses togehter. Sometimes he felt like tying Hiro up and hiding him away where no one could ever find him. He’d be the only one to feast his eyes on Hiro’s beauty. To touch him, to hold him, and kiss him. To make sweet love to him.

Hiro blushed once again. “You like this one then?” he asked.

“There’s nothing I won’t like as long as you’re the one wearing it.” Raiden chuckled. “But if it were up to me, you’d be wearing nothing.”

“Raiden!” Hiro berated. “You have to stop saying things like this.”

“What? It is the truth.” Raiden shrugged. “Would you rather hear me lie to you?”

Hiro immediately shook his head. He’d rather hear the truth from Raiden no matter how bitter it was.

Raiden released Hiro then took out a white suit he had set his eyes on while Hiro was still changing earlier. “We’re definitely taking the black suit.” He said. “Now try this one.”

“Wait, why do you want to buy so many suits for me anyway? I might not wear them all.” Hiro said. “Besides, where will I even wear them to?”

“Formal parties.” Raiden answered simply. “With me.”

Hiro was quite surprised. “You’d take me with you?”

“Well that’s the whole point of us being together isn’t it?” Raiden asked, gently pinching his soft cheek.

“Aren’t you afraid of rumours spreading?" Hiro asked. "Have you forgotten who I am? What if people come to know? You’re famous. Won’t it affect your reputation?"

Considering the fact that the entire world knew of the crime his parents had committed. The Watanabes no longer had a good reputation.

"Do I look like I care?" Raiden asked. He also found it cute that Hiro was worried about his image. "If I did, I wouldn’t have introduced you to the staff here as my boyfriend, would I? Bringing you here is enough to change everything. Rumours spread like wildfire. We could be trending right now. At this very moment."

He finally had the person he loved the most in the palm of his hand. If rumours spread and people come to know they’re together, it would be like having Hiro in quicksand. Slowly sinking deep into his plans for he had no intention of letting Hiro leave him after a year. How could he finally taste sweetness and let it go?
