Chapter 50: Chapter 49

Sora didn’t miss the brief exchange. He was sure that the friends were hiding something.

"I’ll text you when I’m in a better mood." Raiden said, wanting him to leave already. He knew he was being rude but he couldn’t help it. He just felt so irritated having Sora in his home. If not of Hiro, he would have dragged him out of the car and bashed his face against the concrete.

Understandjng thatbhis thoughts were getting violent, he let out a deep breath, inwardly counting backwards from 5, trying to calm himself down. He made a mental note to schedule another session with his therapist.

Shoji expressed approval with a smile. "I’ll take my leave now, considering you have company. Good night"

Raiden responded with a grunt, and Hiro added a soft, "Goodnight."

As Shoji departed, he couldn’t help but shoot a disapproving glare in Sora’s direction.

Sora just rolled his eyes, his lack of interest evident in his expression as Shoji departed. Turning to Raiden with a seemingly innocent smile, he inquired, "So, where will Hiro and I sleep?"

The anger that Raiden had tried to supress blew out after Sora’s question, causing him to clench his fists, nails digging into his palms to maintain composure. "You will sleep in the guest room. Mrs. Shoyo will be here shortly to guide you there," he sternly replied before reaching for Hiro’s hand. "Hiro, sleeps with me."

Without awaiting Sora’s response, Raiden briskly led Hiro upstairs, locking the door behind them. Hiro barely had a chance to appreciate the room before Raiden pressed him against the door.

Growling with intensity, he demanded, "What is the meaning of this?" His fierce gaze boring into Hiro.

Hiro trembled in response, discomfort evident in his demeanor. Raiden’s hands, positioned on either side of his head, formed an unyielding cage, effectively trapping him against the door.

"W-What do you mean?" He stuttered, not meeting Raiden’s eyes. He knew that Raiden was most likely angry because of Sora but he didn’t get why.

"Stop pretending like you don’t know. Why is your brother in my house, Hiro?" Raiden asked.

"I-I- h-he-" Hiro stammered, his heart trashing within his chest. Raiden was so close and so scary. He clutched his pants, feeling nervous.

Raiden could tell that he was scaring Hiro. It reminded him of the times Hiro used to avoid him like a plague which pissed him off even more but this was Hiro. The person he had loved since they were children. He had to control his anger.

Hiro was still thinking of a way to explain so as not to anger Raiden further when he heard Raiden sigh and hug him. His strong arms wrapped around his waist and he placed his head on his shoulder.

Stunned, Hiro stood perfectly still, not knowing what to do. "A-Are you okay?" He asked.

Raiden, who had just finsihed counting backwards from 5 again just grunted in response.

"I-I’m sorry." Hiro blurted. "I just didn’t want my brother to go back to that house alone. It has always been two of us. I didn’t want him to be lonely."

"Is that really it?" Raiden murmured against the skin of Hiro’s neck.

Hiro shivered from Raiden’s hot breath against his skin and the feel of his smooth lips. His heartbeat quickened again. "Y-Yes." He answered.

Raiden hugged Hiro even closer, relishing the way his body trembled. "Don’t lie, Hiro. You’re afraid of me aren’t you? You’re afraid of the things that I might do to you tonight. That’s why he’s here, isn’t it?"

Hiro went silent, knowing that he had been caught. He wondered how Raiden was able to get the answer so easily. Was he that predictable?

Raiden smirked for Hiro’s silence told him everything. Well, it was about time that Hiro started getting used to his touch and being around him. They were going to be together for a year and hopefully more.

Hiro squirmed, feeling a little uncomfortable having Raiden pressed against him. It reminded him of the kiss they shared earlier in the afternoon. Well, it was way more than a kiss and Raiden had said that he would not ask for permission anymore so he was quite apprehensive about Raiden’s next move.

He felt Raiden’s finger slither up his spine and up to his neck, stroking his skin. The fingers then went up his mouth, the thumb hovering over his lower lip. He felt Raiden shift and raise his head. Their eyes met and Raiden’s smokey grey ones fleeted down to his lips.

There was a slight pause, as if Raiden was contemplating kissing him.

He was about to ask Raiden to move when

Raiden pulled away and looked down at him. Hiro could see him trying to control himself.

"Go to bed first. I’ll join you later." Raiden said, moving to leave.

Astonished by Raiden’s weird behaviour, he quickly clutched Raiden’s sleeve. "Where are you going?"

"I’ll be in my study. There are some paperwork I need to review. Wash up and go to bed. You’ve had a long day." Raiden said, ruffling Hiro’s hair. He didn’t wait for Hiro’s reply and just walked out, leaving Hiro thoroughly confused.

Hiro’s eyes fluttered open slowly, the gentle light filtering through the curtains coaxing him back to consciousness. At first, he was disoriented, his mind struggling to place his surroundings. The spaciousness of the king-sized bed beneath him felt unfamiliar, and it took a moment for the realization to dawn on him—he had spent the night at Raiden’s house, in Raiden’s room.

As he glanced down at himself, a gasp escaped his lips. His heart raced as he realized he was clad in a baggy white shirt that dwarfed his frame, leaving him in nothing but his underwear. Panic flickered in his chest as he frantically searched his memory, unable to recall changing into the clothes before he drifted off to sleep.

Could they be Raiden’s clothes? Did Raiden change him while he was asleep? He was usually a light sleeper. Once he heard a noise or some kind of movement, he’d wake up instantly. How come he didn’t wake up?

He decided to go find Raiden and ask what happened in the night. He made a move to get up from the bed when his gaze fell upon a sleeping figure by his side. Startled, he jolted upright, his heart pounding with sudden alarm. How did he not notice Raiden beside him all along?!

Raiden’s eyes fluttered open at the sudden movement, his gaze darting around the room in confusion before settling on Hiro, who sat on the bed, wide-eyed and startled. For a fleeting moment, panic flashed in Raiden’s eyes as he realized Hiro wasn’t by his side as he expected, but the worry dissipated as he registered Hiro’s presence on the bed, albeit a bit startled.
