Chapter 40: Chapter 39

Hiro, feeling embarrassed, interjected, "Brother, that’s too much. You can’t finish all that."

Raiden, with a smirk, reassured, "It’s fine. I won’t be paying for his meal anyway. He can order whatever he desires."

In shock, Sora’s jaw dropped as Raiden proceeded to order his own meal. He was resolute, truly having no intention of spending a single penny on Sora.

Fueled by anger and pride, Sora, swallowing his shock, and opted for a simple bowl of ramen. He was afraid Raiden would really leave him to pay for everything.

He huffed. Who needed his money anyway? A bowl of ramen was enough for breakfast. It was better to buy his own food than let a pervert buy it for him.

Hiro remained silent, tactically deciding to not involve himself in their feud. He understood why they hated each other. As for him, he was starting to think maybe he had misunderstood Raiden all these years.

Their orders arrived not long after and they dug in, enjoying the flavourful taste of the food.

As Hiro savored each bite, he couldn’t help but appreciate Raiden. Without Raiden, he would not be eating peacefully. Saika would not be getting the transplant and they would have all been panicking and crying. Although it took a deal for Raiden to help him, Raiden still did it and Hiro didn’t blame him.

Raiden, as a business man, just thought of everything from a business point of view. Besides, no one would be willing to spend 5 million on him without getting something back. After all, the people he went to all sent him away because he had nothing to offer.

He took a sip of his green tea, letting out a contented sigh. The elegant surroundings, the exquisite food, and the company of Raiden and his brother – it all combined to create a breakfast that felt like a respite, a brief escape from the challenges that life had thrown his way.

Grateful for everything, Hiro relished the flavors, letting the warmth of the ochazuke envelop him in a sense of fortunate tranquility.

Raiden observed the way Hiro ate with relish and it took him back to the times they were in high school. The times he would sit at his lonely table, watching Hiro eat from afar. He was captivated, not only by his beauty but also by the graceful and meticulous way Hiro consumed his meal. It was like watching a live work of art. The heavens sure knew what they were doing when they sculpted Hiro.

He soon realised that nothing had changed. In fact, his admiration for Hiro had increased. Maybe it was a good thing that Hiro rejected him all these years. It only made getting him now even sweeter.

Sora glared at Raiden, growing increasingly irritated as he watched Raiden’s attention fixed on Hiro. He felt that Raiden hadn’t changed in any way. He was still looking at his brother with that possessive expression. Like he just wanted to catch Hiro and gobble him up. He hated the fact that it was a man that was staring at his brother like that and not a woman. It made him want to tear Raiden to pieces. Such a man would only corrupt his brother.

Despite everything, they all ate their breakfast peacefully and headed back to the waiting room.

"Are you really going to wait here with us?" Hiro asked as they walked down the hall.

"What? Do you want me to leave?" Raiden teased.

Hiro shook his head. He still wasn’t on speaking terms with his brother so it was better that Raiden stayed with him.

Upon getting back to the waiting room, Hiro sighted a head of pink hair standing by the window. He instantly brightened up. "Michi!"

Michi turned, grinning when he saw Hiro.

Hiro wanted to run to Michi but felt that he was held back. He turned to look at Raiden who was still holding his hand.

"What? You didn’t ask me if you could go." Raiden said, smiling smugly. He leaned close and whispered in Hiro’s ear. "Or have you forgotten about our deal already?"

Hiro felt Raiden’s free hand slip under his shirt, caressing the skin of his waist as he spoke; "You belong to me, Hiro."

Raiden felt Hiro shiver. He watched his little kitten purse his lips, eyes darting to Sora, wanting to see if Sora noticed anything.

Thankfully, Sora was already having a conversation with Michi.

"I-I haven’t forgotten." Hiro stuttered. He tried to move away but Raiden only slipped his arm around his waist, keeping him in place. "R-Raiden, stop. T-There are people here."

"You should have thought of that before trying to break free." Raiden replied, his voice deep and curt. "I said, you belong to me, Hiro. You will ask for permission before going to see anyone or doing anything. Do you understand?"

Hiro quickly nodded. He just wanted Raiden to let him go. "Okay okay. I understand. I’ll ask before I do anything. Can I go see Michi now? He’s my best friend."

Normally, he would have stayed to argue but he didn’t want his brother to see.

Satisfied, Raiden smiled, but he didn’t pull back. Instead, he stroked Hiro’s smooth cheek with his other hand. "You’re so cute. I want to kiss you. Can I?"

"Raiden!" Hiro exclaimed in a hushed whisper. "My brother can turn around at any time!"

"Then you better answer fast." Raiden smirked. "And be wise about it."

Hiro frowned. He felt there was something wrong. Like there was an underlying threat in Raiden’s last sentence. He had a feeling his answer had to be yes or he wouldn’t like the consequences.

Raiden was unpredictable and Hiro didn’t want to anger him. "Fine. Kiss and let me go."

"I don’t like your attitude, Hiro" Raiden tutted, his fingers grazing Hiro’s lips. "Fix it."

Although frustrated, Hiro knew he had no other option. He let out a sigh, calming himself down then stared into Raiden’s intense smokey grey orbs. He felt his body tingle a bit. "I’m sorry. You can kiss me."

Raiden chuckled. He leaned in and lightly grazed his lips against Hiro’s. It was feather light and Hiro could swear that he didn’t even feel anything. After that, Raiden released him and he dazedly walked over to Michi and Sora.

Didn’t he say he wanted to kiss? What the hell was that?
