Beneath the Surface: Secrets of an Obsessed Heart -
Chapter 108 - 107
Chapter 108: Chapter 107
Raiden couldn’t help but laugh. "It’s not a favour that you have to repay baby. I enjoy pleasing you. I want to make you feel good all the time. With me, you don’t have to do anything. I’ll do it all for you. You just have to keep liking me and I’ll give you the world."
Hiro wanted to cry again. How could Raiden be so sweet? What did he do to deserve such a man? How could someone like him so much? He moved closer and kissed Raiden’s lips. "I want to please you too Raiden." He murmured. "I want to do things that will make you happy."
’Then give yourself to me’ was what Raiden wanted to say. The words were right at the tip of his tongue. ’Surrender yourself to me. Give me all that you are. Let me take control’
Instead, he just smiled and kissed Hiro again. "Then don’t ever leave me."
Hiro giggled. "I won’t."
Raiden knew himself. He wasn’t going to be entirely satisfied with just this. Eventually, he’ll come to crave more and demand for more from Hiro.
But for now, this was enough.
*********
"Do you have to go?" Hiro whined softly, his voice laced with a mix of reluctance as he pouted up at Raiden, clutching the sleeve of his jacket.
They were standing outside Saika’s hospital room in the quiet, empty hallway. The soft hum of the hospital’s overhead lights provided the only sound as they lingered together. Raiden’s work break was over, and though he needed to go to the office, the sight of Hiro clinging to his sleeve made his heart ache.
Never in his wildest dreams had he imagined a day when he and Hiro would share such a moment. "I’m sorry, baby," he said tenderly, leaning down to place a gentle kiss on Hiro’s pout. "But I have to go. Can’t you come with me?"
Hiro’s mind flashed back to the last time he had gone to the office with Raiden, and the memory made him shake his head firmly. "No," he replied, his voice tinged with sadness. "I don’t want to go there."
Raiden understood immediately. He had already investigated what happened that day and it was an issue he was going to deal with then he goes to the office. He didn’t address it earlier because of the break he took but he was going to set things straight.
He brought Hiro to see Saika because he hadn’t seen her in a while and it would be better for Hiro to stay with her than stay at home alone while he returned to his endless work and meetings. No matter how much he wanted to stay, he couldn’t leave his secretary to handle everything alone.
Raiden hugged Hiro tightly, wanting to comfort him as much as he could before leaving. "Then don’t eat lunch, okay? I’ll bring it and we can eat together. How does that sound?"
Hiro’s eyes lit up, a bright smile spreading across his face at the thought of seeing Raiden again so soon. He nodded enthusiastically, feeling much better. "That sounds perfect."
Raiden smiled back, relieved to see Hiro happy. He gently reminded him, "Don’t leave the hospital, okay? And if you have to go somewhere, call me or send me a text. I’ll send Han over to take you whetever you want to go."
Hiro nodded obediently, his champagne-coloured eyes still shining with happiness. "I will."
With one last kiss, Raiden whispered, "I’ll see you in a few hours," before reluctantly pulling away.
Hiro blushed as he watched Raiden walk down the hallway. "Drive safe!" he called out, his voice full of affection. Raiden nodded and waved him goodbye.
He stood there, smiling like a lovesick puppy until Raiden disappeared from sight.
********
Raiden sat in the meeting room, his fingers tapping lightly on the table as each department head presented their reports. He kept his face neutral, but his eyes kept darting to his wristwatch. A frown tugged at his lips when he saw there were still a few hours left before lunch. He sighed, wondering if his meetings were always this long or if he was just missing Hiro.
He tried to concentrate on what the man standing by the large screen was saying but all he could hear was Hiro Hiro Hiro Hiro Hiro.
He blinked, shaking his head so he could listen properly but the image of Hiro holding on to his sleeve appeared in his mind and he smiled. Hiro was so cute.
Raiden pulled out his phone, subtly opening his messaging app. His heart softened as he clicked on Hiro’s contact, saved simply as ’Baby’ with an array of heart and kissing emojis. After a moment of contemplation, he typed out a message:
--What do you want for lunch?
The seconds ticked by, but there was no reply. Raiden’s brows furrowed, a small pit of worry forming in his chest. He let out a long, dejected sigh, which caused the person presenting to glance nervously at him. Misinterpreting Raiden’s sigh as boredom, the presenter began to sweat and hurried through the rest of his report, eager to escape the perceived scrutiny.
Little did he know, Raiden wasn’t even listening.
Raiden’s phone suddenly vibrated in his hand, and he quickly unlocked it, his mood lifting when he saw a message from Hiro:
--I want a big burger and fries.
--Oh and a large chocolate milkshake too.
Raiden couldn’t help but smile at Hiro’s straightforward request. He sent a scowling emoji back and replied:
--No junk food.
Hiro’s response came quickly, a crying emoji followed by a string of hearts and kisses:
--Please? Just this once? I’m really craving a burger and fries.
Raiden chuckled softly, picturing Hiro pouting, his round eyes wide and pleading. So cute. How could he resist? He typed back:
--Okay. Just this once.
The screen filled with a flood of kissing emojis and hearts, followed by a grateful message:
-Thank you, thank you, thank you! I can’t wait to see you.
Raiden scoffed playfully as he typed:
--You mean you can’t wait to eat your junk food.
Hiro responded with a laughing emoji and then sent:
--I really want to see you too. I miss you a lot.
Raiden’s heart swelled with affection as he replied:
--I miss you more, baby.
Followed by:
--Send me a picture. I want to see you.
A blushing emoji appeared on his screen, followed by Hiro’s hesitant response:
--Right now?
--Of course. Raiden sent back, his eyes glued to his phone, waiting patiently for Hiro’s reply.
Miss Ling, Raiden’s secretary, who was seated beside him, was acutely aware that her boss wasn’t paying attention so she subtly nudged his knee with her pen, trying to bring him back to the meeting. But Raiden barely acknowledged her, swatting the pen away and shifting his knee to avoid further disturbance. Miss Ling sighed inwardly, resigning herself to the fact that she would likely have to prepare a more detailed report of the meeting later.
A while later, Raiden’s phone buzzed in his hand, and he quickly unlocked it. His eyes lit up as he received three adorable pictures of Hiro.
In the first two, Hiro was wearing a cozy white sweater, his delicate hands forming a heart shape, his eyes wide and sparkling with mischief. The soft lighting added a warm glow to his face, making his cheeks look even more endearing. In the last photo, Hiro had puckered his lips into a playful kissy face, his eyes slightly narrowed as if he was about to burst into laughter.
Raiden’s heart melted instantly. Unable to contain his happiness, he smiled widely. The presenter, misinterpreting Raiden’s reaction, assumed she was doing an excellent job and continued her presentation with renewed confidence. The meeting dragged on, but Raiden was only half-listening, too engrossed with texting Hiro to care about anything else.
