Before the Fall: Rise of the Apocalypse King -
Chapter 47: Stockpiling Begains
Chapter 47: Stockpiling Begains
After leaving the West Hills, Ivan drove to a secluded spot far from prying eyes. There, he quietly transferred all the weapons he bought into his storage ring, making sure no one saw a thing.
Then, he headed toward the industrial district, where he rented a run-down warehouse from an elderly woman who didn’t ask many questions. It was old, dusty, and half-forgotten—perfect for staying off the radar.
After that, Ivan drove straight to Moscow’s shopping district, a place where you could find anything, as long as you had enough money.
His first stop was a sports equipment store.
As he stepped inside, a young woman in tight workout clothes approached with a warm smile. Her blonde hair was tied in a neat ponytail, and she looked full of energy.
"Good afternoon, sir! Welcome! We have the best collection of fitness gear in all of Moscow!" she said cheerfully.
Ivan already knew this. That’s why he came here.
He didn’t waste time and said calmly,
"Give me ten sets of the most high-end fitness equipment in each category. I’ll pay now."
The young woman—her name tag read Anastasia—blinked, thinking she’d misheard him.
"Sir... did you just say... ten sets of everything?" she asked, unsure if he was serious.
Ivan gave a small sigh. He slowed his words down and repeated,
"Yes. The best equipment you have. Ten of each. Make the bill, and I’ll pay right away."
He was buying ten sets because he didn’t know how long this apocalypse would last. It could be months—or even a lifetime.
If something broke, he wouldn’t be able to fix it, and help wouldn’t be coming. So, backups were a must.
When Anastasia saw he was serious, her face turned red with excitement.
"Yes, sir! Right away! I’ll get the invoice printed!" she said, nearly stammering with joy.
Customers like this were extremely rare—someone who didn’t blink at the price and paid in full on the spot. She could already imagine the fat commission she was going to earn—maybe a whole year’s salary in a single deal.
Unable to hold it in, she ran to the back.
"Manager Viktor! Manager Viktor! Huge order! It’s a huge one!"
The whole store turned to look.
The manager, a man in his forties wearing glasses and a stiff suit, frowned and walked out of the back office.
"Why are you yelling? What kind of order are you shouting about?" he asked with a scowl.
"Ten full sets of all our top-end equipment!" Anastasia said with a beaming smile.
Manager Viktor froze mid-step.
"Are you serious?" he asked, blinking in disbelief.
He turned toward Ivan and scanned him from head to toe.
This wasn’t some loud millionaire or flashy fitness freak—this man looked calm, well-dressed, and quiet. But the kind of quiet that came with money and purpose.
He quickly did the math. A single Taino Ultra treadmill cost around 240,000 dollers. And this man wanted ten of everything?
That was easily six to seven million dollars—a massive deal by any standard!
By now, even the other customers had picked up on what was happening.
"Is he opening a new gym?" someone whispered.
"With that kind of order? Must be a luxury one."
"Either that, or this guy’s preparing to train like a soldier in his own home!"
"Rich people really live in a different world..."
Ivan ignored the chatter around him. He simply stood there, quiet and focused, waiting for them to finish preparing the invoice.
He had no interest in gyms or showing off.
This was about survival.
He was preparing for a world that was about to become hell—and in that world, only the strong would survive.
Not just the store clerks and customers—even Manager Viktor had the same thought. He quickly walked over, wearing a flattering smile, and asked politely:
"Sir, the invoice has been prepared. May I ask—which gym or address should we deliver the equipment to?"
Ivan replied calmly:
"Send everything to the warehouse in the Kalininsky Industrial Zone."
Manager Viktor was a bit surprised.
"To a warehouse?" he asked, hesitating slightly.
Ivan’s brows furrowed a little.
"Is that a problem?"
"Ah! No, not at all, sir. We’ll take care of it," Viktor quickly said, not daring to offend a customer spending this much.
Soon after, Ivan paid the full amount—seven million eight hundred thousand dollars—without showing even a hint of hesitation.
He believed in a simple truth:
"You get what you pay for."
And in the coming apocalypse, money would be useless. Once the global economy collapsed, even stacks of cash wouldn’t be worth as much as a loaf of bread.
That’s why spending big didn’t bother him. If anything, he planned to sell or mortgage his supermarket chain to gather even more supplies.
After leaving his delivery address, Ivan moved on.
Next stop: a large electronics and gaming store.
He already knew most electronics would become useless once they broke—nobody would be around to fix them.
So, he went all in.
He ordered 100 units of every major entertainment device available—laptops, gaming consoles, VR headsets, music systems, batteries, and more.
All of it would be delivered directly to his rented warehouse in the industrial zone.
Then, Ivan visited a clothing store nearby.
He didn’t even bother browsing.
He simply told the manager:
"Give me every piece of clothing in my size. Everything in your warehouse. No need to pack them fancy. Just deliver them to the same address."
Heavy-duty parkas. Thermal gloves. Snow boots. Goggles. Sleeping bags. Wool socks. Even cold-resistant fabric rolls. He brought every winter gear avalible.
Then he moved on to summer gears, ropes, heat resistants cloths, track suits and many others things.
He didn’t know how long the Apocalypse would last—a few years or the rest of his life—and this time he will be prepared for everything.
As Ivan continued his shopping spree, word spread across the entire pedestrian district of Moscow.
Store owners and staff whispered in awe:
"Did you hear? That man bought out half the fitness store."
"And the electronics shop too! Paid full price—no haggling!"
"Is he opening a secret military base or something?"
"Whatever it is... I hope he stops by my shop next!"
But none of them realized—he wasn’t rich just for show.
He was preparing for the collapse of the world.
And every item, every dollar spent, was a step toward survival.
--------------
In the evening, Ivan visited several of the top hotels across Moscow, placing large banquet meal orders.
Each order was for 500 plates, filled with different types of gourmet cuisine.
When the hotel managers heard this, they were all stunned. Orders like this were rare—even for big events or companies.
To make sure Ivan wasn’t some kind of scammer or part of a rival company’s prank, most of the managers asked him for a 30% upfront payment.
Ivan didn’t mind at all—he paid it on the spot, without hesitation.
After confirming the payment had gone through, the managers breathed a sigh of relief and their attitude completely changed. They became much more respectful and welcoming.
Ivan gave special instructions:
"Don’t deliver all the meals at once. Send them in batches on different dates, and deliver them to my warehouses."
He didn’t want anyone to get suspicious or attract too much attention.
Later that night, Ivan had a quiet dinner at a nearby restaurant, then returned to his student dormitory.
When he walked in, his friend Duro was sitting at his study desk. He looked up with a tired face and asked:
"What’s up, man? You’ve been out all day. Where’ve you been?"
Ivan gave a small grin.
"Here and there, just running around."
Duro stretched and leaned back in his chair.
"Bro... you won’t believe what happened in the lecture hall today!" Duro said, eyes wide with excitement.
Ivan, who had just walked into the room, started taking off his jacket and asked casually,
"What happened?"
"You know Rula?"
"Rula?" Ivan raised an eyebrow.
"You mean that guy who made fun of me in class a while ago?"
"Yeah, that guy!" Duro nodded quickly.
"So? What about him?" Ivan asked, half-paying attention as he kicked off his shoes.
Duro could hardly sit still.
"He got rejected, bro! Like, badly rejected! He confessed to Alina—you know, that insanely hot girl from the medical department."
Ivan stopped for a second.
"Alina?"
"Yeah, the ice queen herself," Duro said, grinning.
"Tall, long legs, always wearing heels, super confident—she’s like the goddess of our university."
Ivan gave a small nod.
"Oh, her."
"So today, she showed up on campus to visit her sister," Duro went on, eyes shining.
"And out of nowhere, Rula walked up and confessed his love in front of everyone."
Ivan raised an eyebrow.
"And?"
"And she shot him down in front of the whole class!" Duro burst out laughing.
"Like, straight-up said, ’Not interested. Don’t embarrass yourself.’ Cold as ice! Man, it was brutal but so fun to watch."
"The whole class saw it, bro. The awkward silence after she left? Legendary."
"Damn," Ivan muttered as he changed his shirt.
"Good for her."
Duro blinked.
"That’s it? Dude, you missed the show of the semester!"
Ivan just gave a small smirk, but said nothing.
In his mind, things like college drama didn’t matter anymore.
Not with the apocalypse coming.
---------
While sleeping in the bed, Ivan had his own thoughts running deep.
Thanks to his storage ring, where time was frozen, there was no worry about food going bad.
No matter how long the apocalypse lasted, everything he stored would stay fresh forever.
While others would be fighting over scraps, Ivan would be enjoying hot banquets, eating like a king in a apocalypse world.
That was his goal.
, At 10 P.M in night he received a message from Dmitri Sokolov at PIK Group. The design blueprint for his safe house was ready.
Ivan reviewed the entire plan in detail.
Walls reinforced with alloy, surveillance everywhere, underground plantation zones...
It was exactly what he envisioned.
He gave his approval with a firm nod.
The countdown to the Apocalypse had already begun.
