Chapter 1195: Early Bout of Milk Production

Gu Zi leaned over, her voice filled with quiet concern. “Eat a little more, will you? You’ve been running around nonstop these past few days, doing everything yourself. After dinner, go upstairs and get some rest.”

Su Shen picked up a piece of braised pork rib, took a bite, and smiled at her indulgently. “Silly girl. I’m your husband. You’re the one carrying our baby—if I don’t take care of things, who else will? Don’t overthink. Just relax.”

Gu Zi beamed. She nodded obediently, waiting until he finished his meal. As soon as he set his chopsticks down, Lin Cheng—ever considerate—stepped in and took over the task of clearing the table.

Upstairs, Su Shen ran a warm bath and guided Gu Zi gently into the bathroom. She’d deliberately encouraged him to rest earlier tonight—after so many days of nonstop running about, even someone with his stamina was bound to wear out. She worried about him, perhaps more than he realized.

But just as he emerged from the bathroom, towel around his waist, something unexpected happened—again. Gu Zi felt that familiar fullness in her chest, a swelling pressure building beneath her skin. Her breasts were tender, aching, and she could feel dampness collecting at the tips.

She had experienced this once before—an early bout of milk production—and recognized the sensation immediately. At first, she tried to bear with it, hoping it would pass, but the pressure only grew, until even her slight wince stirred Su Shen, who had just laid down.

He sat up, instantly alert. “Lie down,” he said softly. He propped her head up with a pillow and leaned over her, his brows furrowed in concern. With great care, he helped her out of her top, his calloused hands cradling her breasts tenderly. His voice was husky. “The doctor said the pain’s from blocked milk ducts. Hang in there, I’ll take care of it.”

Su Shen pressed gently, fingers warm and firm as they moved in practiced motions. Back when Gu Zi had just gotten pregnant, he’d made it his mission to study everything—pregnancy, delivery, even lactation massage techniques—just so she’d suffer less when the time came.

He’d thought he wouldn’t need to use them until after the baby arrived. But Gu Zi’s body was different. The milk came early, and the only way to relieve her was to express it.

Guided by experience, he massaged with steady precision, and soon, milky white liquid began to bead at the tip of her nipple before dribbling down in little streams. The milk flowed across her breast, soaking his fingers—and then some splashed onto his cheek, and lips.

Gu Zi, lying helpless in his arms, couldn’t see any of this, but she could smell the faint sweetness of milk in the air. The pain made her chest rise and fall in shallow breaths, sweat beading on her forehead. Tears shimmered in her eyes, though she tried her best to suppress them.

Su Shen’s heart twisted seeing her like this—tears glistening, lip trembling from the pain. He hesitated, unwilling to hurt her further, but he also knew that if the milk wasn’t drained, the blockage would only worsen. After a moment’s pause, he made a decision.

She heard him inhale. Then suddenly—warm lips pressed softly against her breast. Her eyes widened in shock. He was using his mouth. He was—sucking?

Her entire face flushed crimson. “Su Shen!” she gasped, giving him a light, embarrassed smack on the shoulder. “Use your hands! I’m not afraid of pain.”

Su Shen lifted his head, lips glossy with milk, a teasing smile playing at the corners of his mouth. He licked the milky residue from his lips without a trace of shame. “Not afraid, huh? Then why were you crying just now?” he murmured. “Gu Zi, I’m your husband. You don’t have to be shy around me. Doesn’t this feel better than when I used my hands?”

She didn’t answer, but her silence spoke volumes. It did hurt less—his mouth, warm and gentle, relieved the pressure in a way that was almost soothing. She hesitated, then tucked herself into his arms, gave a slight nod, and closed her eyes in silent acquiescence.

He bent down again, taking her nipple into his mouth once more, suckling steadily. When one breast had softened, he moved to the other, repeating the motion.

There was nothing lewd about his actions; his face was serious, intent. He was doing this solely for her relief—and yet every drop of milk he drew out, he swallowed, as if it were natural.

Gu Zi, meanwhile, was red-faced, her mind swirling. ‘Doesn’t it taste odd to him?’ she wondered. That raw, milky scent… But she couldn’t bring herself to ask.

While the milk had stopped hurting her chest, it had ignited another problem entirely. The warmth of his mouth, the intimacy of the moment—it triggered a reaction deep inside her. Between her legs, a moist, aching heat began to build. Her body squirmed unconsciously, a quiet moan slipping from her lips.

She wanted to tell him. But the words just wouldn’t come.

Eventually, Su Shen noticed. Her reactions didn’t escape him. Of course they didn’t—this level of closeness would stir any couple.

He, too, was burning inside. But her belly had grown so round now; they couldn’t afford to be careless. No matter how hard it was for him to restrain himself, he would never put her or their baby at risk.

He exhaled slowly, then reached between her legs with gentle fingers, softly stroking her swollen folds, easing her discomfort. Only after he had soothed her and carefully cleaned her up did he finally retreat to the bathroom to take a cold shower, dousing away the heat that clung to his skin.

By the time he returned to bed, it was already well past midnight.

Gu Zi, now drowsy, curled up against his arm, whispering guiltily, “I’m sorry… I didn’t expect this at all.”

Su Shen’s throat bobbed with a dry swallow. His voice was low and warm, edged with affection. “Silly girl. How could this be your fault? And besides, it’s not even that late. Go on—be good and sleep now. Once you sleep, I’ll sleep too.”

She nodded and closed her eyes. Pregnancy had made her even more prone to sleepiness, and sure enough, within moments, she’d drifted off, breath even and soft.

Su Shen watched her for a moment, gently pinched her cheek, then smiled—finally relaxing as he wrapped his arms around her and let sleep take him too.

The next morning, he remained in bed to handle several urgent matters from the capital over the phone. Just as he was about to hang up, another call came through.

It was Captain He.
