Chapter 138: You’re My Type (18+)
Kato folded his arms across his chest, a smug grin spreading as his sharp eyes scanned the bodies of the fallen soldiers.
"Fine, we need a plan," Kato finally said, his gaze locking onto Scarlett. "Are we following this map to hunt down Victor, or do you have another plan entirely?"
Ryder, still shaken by the explosion that had rattled them earlier, spoke up hesitantly. "What about the other organizations, though? We can’t just focus on Victor. What if they’re the real threat?"
Ethan, sitting cross-legged on the ground, glanced up at Ryder with a grim expression. "We need to prioritize. Victor’s the most immediate and obvious threat. Besides, which organization isn’t a threat? They’re all enemies of humanity. We might as well start with Victor since he’s the one we’ve got intel on right now. Once we deal with him, we can figure out how to handle the others."
Scarlett let out a dry chuckle, the map crinkling slightly in her grip as she tightened her hold on it. Her crimson eyes glowed faintly in the dim light. "You’re right, Ethan. Victor isn’t the only monster here, every organization out there is just as bloodthirsty. They’re all hell-bent on wiping out the remaining survivors. Their goal is the same as Victor’s, and they won’t stop until there’s nothing left."
"So what do we do now?" Ryder asked with a weary sigh. His shoulders sagged slightly as he looked at the others. "What if this map doesn’t even lead to Victor’s base? What if that soldier was just trying to mess with us, distract us from dealing with the monsters by sending us on a wild goose chase?"
Scarlett stared at the map for a moment before letting out another smirk. "This map describes a journey that would take at least a month....maybe longer. If it’s accurate, Victor’s base is far from here. But I don’t need a month to get there." Her gaze turned sharp as she continued, "While other Chosen members are out there fighting monsters and evading gunfire from those soldiers, at least their efforts are helping save the remaining survivors. We can’t lose sight of that."
She turned toward Ryder and Ethan, her expression hardening. "You two will stay behind and join the other Chosen members. Focus on killing monsters and protecting survivors. Kato and I will track down Victor’s organization. We will also continue killing monsters along the way, but we’ll be moving toward the bigger goal."
The group fell silent for a moment as Ryder and Ethan stared at Scarlett in shock, their eyes wide with a mixture of fear and disbelief.
"No, no, no, Scarlett," Ryder blurted out, shaking his head. "Fine, I don’t even know how I ended up with you guys, don’t know how I ended up at that cave but one thing I know is that having you here gives us an upper hand against the monsters and the soldiers shooting at us. If you leave, our chances of survival will drop to almost nothing. I’m on my third system. If I take one more bullet to the head, I’m done for. And if a monster bites me instead, I’ll turn into something worse."
Ethan nodded, his body visibly tense. "Ryder’s right. If I’m bitten, I’ll evolve into an SS-ranked being half-human, half-monster. And trust me, that’s not a good thing. My killer instincts would take over, and I’d lose control. I’d start attacking survivors instead of monsters. And if the monster side of me overpowers my human side, I’ll become nothing more than a bloodthirsty beast."
Ethan began pacing, his footsteps echoing in the stillness. "It takes someone incredibly strong to maintain their humanity after evolving to that level. And even then, it’s a gamble. Scarlett, if you leave, we’re as good as dead."
Scarlett’s gaze flickered with a mix of frustration and thoughtfulness as she turned the map over in her hands. Her mind drifted to the concept of a safe haven, something they had all clung to in their darkest moments. She can’t even help but to think that the so-called safe haven wasn’t in this world no doubt. If it was, how come she hasn’t find it? Is it supposed to show up until everyone was dead?
Her system wasn’t offering any guidance either. It rarely did. The only thing she could count on was collecting coins from killing monsters.
Kato suddenly scoffed, breaking the silence. "Then kill yourselves now if you’re going to be cowards," he snapped, his voice dripping with contempt. "The other Chosen members are out there? Most of them are also on their third system, and they’re still fighting tooth and nail to survive. The least you two can do is the same." He crossed his arms, his eyes narrowing. "If Scarlett and I go to Victor’s base, yeah, it’s dangerous. More for me than her. But I’m willing to take the risk. I want to escort her. What about you two?"
"You...." Ryder started to argue, but Scarlett raised a hand, cutting him off.
"Enough, all of you," she said sharply, her tone commanding silence. Her crimson eyes burned with intensity as she looked between them. "Instead of wasting time arguing, let’s focus on what matters...killing monsters. The truth is, I might not even end up going to Victor’s organization. Who knows what’ll happen next? Let’s just do what we can for now."
Without waiting for a response, Scarlett turned and started walking away, the map still in her hand. The others exchanged puzzled glances but quickly fell in step behind her.
She was right, arguing wouldn’t save anyone. Killing monsters, however, just might.

The moon shone brightly in the night sky, while the stars sparkled like scattered diamonds. The cool night breeze carried with it a soothing calmness, yet Garvin’s unease grew as he slowly stirred awake.
His eyes fluttered open, adjusting to the soft glow of moonlight illuminating the barren desert landscape. The first thing his gaze landed on was Scorpion, standing stark naked beneath the moonlight, water cascading down his muscular frame. His seven-inch member dangled freely as he bathed under the natural light, seemingly unbothered by the open surroundings.
Garvin blinked several times, his mind racing. What the heck is going on? He quickly averted his eyes, his cheeks flushing in embarrassment. He sat up slightly, glancing around for something...anything to take his mind off the scene before him.
The moonlight was bright enough to identify shapes and figures, rendering candles or torches unnecessary. Besides, the wind would have snuffed out any flame, and Garvin doubted there was a flashlight around, if there were, Scorpion and Georgia would have likely turned it on. Or maybe they deliberately chose not to, given Scorpion’s current... activity.
What the hell? Garvin cursed internally, shaking his head in disbelief. His gaze instinctively wandered, searching for Georgia. He couldn’t see her anywhere nearby, and the realization only added to his unease.
Suddenly, movement caught his eye. Georgia appeared, walking toward Scorpion. She was completely naked too, her medium-sized breasts swaying gently with each step, her nipples perked from the cool breeze. Her unshaved private area was exposed, glistening slightly under the moonlight.
Garvin felt a surge of panic and embarrassment. What the heck is this madness? He averted his gaze again, his breathing quickening. His eyes landed on a nearby bottle, and without thinking, he grabbed it. Desperately needing something to distract himself, he uncapped the bottle and took a gulp only to immediately spit the contents out.
"Rchhh... Ghhh..." he sputtered, his throat burning. It wasn’t water, it was alcohol.
The sound of his coughing and spitting caught the attention of Scorpion and Georgia. Both turned toward him, their faces illuminated by the silvery light.
"You’re finally awake," Scorpion said with a smirk, his voice low and casual. He continued rinsing himself under the moonlight, unfazed by Garvin’s startled expression. "Come on, have a bath. We’re heading out of this desert soon. Our food and water supplies are running low, so we need to make our way back to the city."
"If you want water, it’s in my backpack," Georgia added, her voice calm as she approached Garvin. She knelt before him, leaning in close. Her breasts hovered just inches from his face, her bare skin glistening faintly.
Garvin leaned back instinctively, wincing as his sudden movement caused a sharp sting in his side where he was injured. "What the heck are you doing?" he snapped, his voice laced with annoyance and discomfort.
Georgia straightened up, an amused smile playing on her lips. Without a word, she retrieved her backpack from behind him and unzipped it, pulling out a bottle of water. She handed it to him.
Garvin hesitated for a moment before taking the bottle. Sitting up carefully, he twisted off the cap and began drinking, the cool liquid soothing his dry throat.
Georgia chuckled softly, watching him. "Stop pretending. This isn’t the first time you’ve seen boobs or an unshaved pussy."
Garvin nearly choked on the water, his face turning crimson.
Lowering her voice so Scorpion wouldn’t overhear, Georgia added in a conspiratorial tone, "Relax. I’m a lesbian. I don’t do dicks. But Scorpion? He does. He’s gay, after all. And who knows? You might be his type."
Garvin froze, his eyes widening in shock and disbelief. Slowly, his gaze shifted toward Scorpion, who was now stroking himself under the moonlight. Soft moans escaped his lips, loud enough for both Garvin and Georgia to hear.
"Fuck!" Garvin cursed under his breath, quickly pulling his legs together and placing his hands over his crotch, as if shielding himself from Scorpion’s view. His heart raced in a mix of panic and utter disbelief.
Georgia laughed quietly at his reaction, her amusement clear as she leaned back on her heels. "Oh, relax. Scorpion’s just being... well, Scorpion. And I’m just lying about me being lesbian. I’m actually bisexual. I do both men and women and I can say that you’re my type."
Garvin couldn’t bring himself to respond. His mind reeled as he struggled to process the bizarre situation he’d just woken up to.
