Chapter 115: I Have An Announcement.

Kato shook his head, a faint smirk playing on his lips. "I don’t eat this kind of food anymore," he explained. "I’ll go find a stream and catch some fresh fish instead. That’s more my speed." He turned and began walking toward the railway exit without waiting for a reply.

As Kato disappeared into the distance, the group exchanged curious glances before heaving heavy sighs.

"He’s always been like that anyway, either eating human intestines or animals’ guts," Ethan remarked with a look of disgust, shaking his head in disbelief. "Well, if catching fish today is what floats his boat, who are we to judge?"

"Scarlett allowed him to move with us hence we have no choice and besides he already promised to stop eating good humans except the bad ones though." Garvin utterd with a light chuckle.

Just as Garvin finished speaking, the sound of footsteps could be heard promting their attention to shift towards the source. Kato, who had walked off moments ago, was now heading back toward them.

"What’s wrong? Couldn’t find a stream nearby?" Garvin asked, his mouth half-full of food.

Kato didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he pulled out a chair and sat down heavily. His movements were deliberate, and his expression was as unreadable as ever.

"How do you plan to deal with those people who followed us last night?" he finally asked, his sharp gaze fixed on Scarlett.

Scarlett, who wasn’t enjoying her meal but forced herself to eat nonetheless, looked up sharply. She refused to let her appetite waver further; after all, the last thing she wanted was to end up like Kato, whose hunger for human flesh was as much a curse as it was a choice.

Ethan raised an eyebrow, curiosity glinting in his eyes. "Which people are you talking about?"

"The ones from the Austin Organization," Kato replied, his voice carrying an edge of annoyance. "Those naked people are camped out in the forest, lying on the ground so thickly there’s barely space to walk through. And honestly, I’m tempted to eat them. If I weren’t restraining myself, I’d have already sunk my teeth into them. Besides..." He paused, his tone shifting to one of unsettling humor. "The way the women’s breasts caught my eyes, i couldn’t help but imagine how tender they’d feel on my lips."

The group stared at him in stunned silence, their expressions a mix of disbelief and unease. Ethan swallowed hard, his usual jovial demeanor momentarily replaced by discomfort.

Garvin cleared his throat awkwardly and took a long sip of water before speaking. He adjusted his seat, clearly unsettled by Kato’s bluntness. "How is it possible those free citizens followed us? Weren’t they supposed to stay at the Austin Organization? They hate us for capturing Austin, their leader afterall."

"They saw our powers," Kato said, leaning back with a smug smirk. "They recognize us as people with abilities. Even though they hated how we killed Austin and his group, they can’t help but see us as a new form of safety. Austin might have fallen, but we’re still standing tall, and that’s enough for them to latch onto us like parasites." He folded his arms across his chest, the smirk widening. "It’s typical human behavior. They cling to you when you have power, but the moment you lose it, they abandon you without a second thought."

Louise sighed heavily, dropping his cutlery onto his plate with a soft clang. "So what are we going to do now, Scarlett?" he asked, his gaze shifting to her. "Are we supposed to welcome them here?"

Scarlett, who had continued eating throughout the tense exchange, set her fork down deliberately. Her expression hardened as she turned to address the group.

"This area is free from monsters," she began, her voice calm but resolute. "If they want to occupy the forest, so be it. No monsters will disturb them as long as they remain within this perimeter. They chose to stay in the forest because they can’t face us, they feel guilty for their past actions. I’m not going out there to bring them in. If they want sanctuary, they’ll have to come to us of their own accord."

"Come to us on their own?" Kato raised an eyebrow and let out a derisive scoff. "If they do, I swear I’ll cut off their legs. Still, you’re right, there’s no danger in this particular area, so they’re safe for now."

"Come on, Kato, that’s enough," Garvin interjected, his tone laced with frustration. "Yes, they acted poorly toward us before, but that doesn’t mean we should treat them the same way. Out there in the forest, it’s nothing like the comfort of the Austin Organization. They’re living without clothes, exposed to the elements. If we leave them out there, they’ll freeze to death in this weather, or worse, starve. They can’t cross the forest without risking their lives. We’re supposed to be saving people, remember?"

Scarlett sighed deeply, her posture relaxing slightly as she listened. "I understand your concerns, Garvin," she said, her tone softening. "I knew they were going to follow us and i’m glad they did followed us. I have no intention of leaving them to die in the first place. But as I said, they’ll have to come here willingly. Ethan and Larry can go out to deliver some warm clothes, food, and other necessities. If those provisions convince them to join us, fine. If not, it’s their decision."

She paused for a moment, her gaze firm and unwavering. "If they do come, we’ll send them to the prison where the others are. It’s a secure shelter, and they’ll be safe there or perhaps they can just stay here With us since the journey back to the prison is an hectic one."

Garvin nodded slowly, though his concern lingered. "That sounds fair," he said, glancing at the others for confirmation who nodded their heads in response. "Anyways, let’s hurry up and hunt some monsters."

"Yeah, but before we do, I have an announcement," Ethan interjected, his expression unusually serious. The shift in his tone immediately drew the group’s attention.

"What’s wrong?" Larry asked, his eyes burning with curiosity.
