Chapter 213: 300 Ancient Dragon
"Lady Juliet. Please get ready, we need to go to the Tolien Mountains without delay," Atlas said suddenly.
When Juliet heard these words, she shook her head and looked at Cassandra. To be frank, going to the Tolien Mountains was a bit dangerous. Even if Constantine’s mother, Aveline and grandfather Cosmo said they would remember Atlas, it was a risk they shouldn’t take.
To put it simply, Juliet was a force that would be defeated by Cosmo in a prolonged battle. Not only Juliet, but only Talon, Cassandra, and, of course, Cordelia herself, the strongest of the Sages and the strongest being in the entire world, could stand up to Cosmo.
Therefore, going there was a great danger.
Still, Atlas had survived there in his previous life. Cosmo and especially Aveline were not people who destroyed everything that came before them.
Still, the only reason for this was that Atlas was much weaker than every dragon on the mountain. It was true. Even a baby dragon belonging to the ancient dragon race was on the same level as Atlas’ power in his previous life.
But that was not the case now. Atlas was much stronger and wanted to go to the mountain with a Sage.
So there was only one way to do this.
Juliet would teleport Atlas to the mountain and remain in Shadowfall Palace herself.
That was exactly how the plan had been formed.
When the next day arrived, Atlas had rested well, taken a shower, eaten enough food, and came to the throne room fully prepared.
Cassandra was stressed. To be honest, Irene didn’t want Atlas to go. The messages from the other Sages were the same. Each of them argued that it was foolish, at least until Cordelia returned or Cassandra joined him.
The only person who completely trusted Atlas was Juliet herself. The Ancient Woman had seen what Atlas had done just yesterday, so there was no reason for her not to trust him.
Whether it was an ancient dragon, a god, or a goddess, Juliet was certain that Atlas was someone who could melt the ice in their hearts.
"Are you ready, young man?" Juliet asked in a steady tone of voice.
Atlas nodded his head up and down and said, "I am ready, my lady."
With that, Atlas’s body was enveloped in Juliet’s mana, and when that mana transformed into various types of flowers and plants, Atlas disappeared.
When he opened his eyes again, Atlas found himself facing a familiar sight. He couldn’t help but smile.
Compared to his previous life, he could sense every dragon watching him secretly. Still, nothing mattered to him. In front of him, he could see the steps of a staircase standing between the rocky paths. Thousands of steps led to the top of the mountain, to the ancient dragons’ lair.
He smiled as if nothing had happened and then said, ’Let’s go,’ and began climbing the steps one by one, without using any abilities, relying solely on the strength of his own body.
Remembering the past every second was much better for him.
Atlas began climbing the steps with slow steps and managed to see that the number of people watching him increased with every passing second.
Still, he continued climbing the steps as if nothing mattered.
Exactly one hour.
He managed to walk to the top of the mountain, passing even the clouds, and finally reached the area where the leaders of the Ancient Dragons lived.
He couldn’t see anyone in front of him or around him, but he could still feel the stares directed at him.
With that, he directed his meaning to his throat and then shouted:
"I’M HERE, OLD MAN!"
The only reason Atlas shouted like this was, of course, because it was based on his memories from his previous life. If Cosmo and Aveline were telling the truth and did remember Atlas, then everything would be very easy.
As he spoke these words, a rumbling sound began to rise again from the depths of the mountain, from the large, dark opening that led down into it. However, this rumbling sound was not angry. On the contrary, it was exciting.
This sound surprised every ancient dragon in the area. Each of them appeared within seconds and stared at the young man standing in the middle of the area.
It was as if these rumblings were indicating in dragon language that someone important had arrived.
After a short while, the first person to emerge from the black hole was Aveline herself. There was no way to describe the longing in her eyes.
The ancient dragon appeared in front of Atlas at hyper speed and hugged him tightly, almost lifting him off the ground.
"My precious son!" Aveline shouted without a moment’s hesitation.
Atlas smiled as if he knew what he had to say after those words and replied, "It’s been a long time, mother."
Atlas was perhaps the only person he could call mother after his own biological mother. He wouldn’t even do that to Nyx.
"You are well... It’s been so long..." said Aveline, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Eleven years, Mother... It’s really been so long," replied Atlas, and at that moment, someone else emerged from the black hole.
"It’s good to see you alive, young man," said Cosmo suddenly.
Atlas smiled and said, "Heh... I can’t even begin to tell you how strange it was to die and come back, old fart."
A smile appeared on Cosmo’s face, and like Aveline, he hugged Atlas tightly. Atlas was truly the one who melted Cosmo’s heart of stone.
"I’ve come to take you to your new home, if you’d like," Atlas said suddenly, and of course, it was clear what he was trying to do.
At these words, Cosmo grumbled and shook his head up and down, raising his hand in the air.
"Pack up, we’re moving," the old man, Cosmo, said suddenly. He didn’t even question Atlas. That is how much trust the oldest and most powerful Ancient Dragon put in him.
The moment he said those words, the ancient dragons stopped being surprised and vanished from where they stood without saying a single word. It was as if everyone had disappeared to prepare for the move.
"Where are we going?" Aveline asked curiously.
Atlas replied, "To my home. The place I built for myself and those I care about. The place where you can see your son again."
When Aveline heard these words, she looked at Atlas with wide eyes and asked, "I don’t understand?" as if she couldn’t believe what she had heard.
"Constantine is alive, you know that, don’t you?" Atlas said suddenly. Compared to his previous life, he had come here with happy news.
Aveline covered her mouth with her hand, and tears began to roll down her cheeks as she tried to believe what she had heard. Cosmo shook his head up and down and thanked Atlas with his eyes.
The regrouping process took nearly an hour. By the time Atlas had been teleported here for three hours, Aveline had mounted her dragon form, and three hundred ancient dragons of world-shaking power, with Aveline at the front and the others behind, had begun moving westward from the Tolien Mountains in the eastern continent toward the westernmost tip of the Epsilon Continent.
Shorekeeper City had become a power centre rivalling the empire.
This revealed that Aether and the others’ plan could be carried out with certainty in the future. A plan so grand that even Atlas was unaware of it.
The Ancient Dragons had been moving for nearly a day.
Whenever they encountered a region overrun by demons, they would descend to the earth alongside Atlas, transform into their human forms, and eliminate the demons within minutes before continuing their journey.
After a day, they had managed to fly across tens of thousands of kilometres. With that, they had reached Shorekeeper City, or Shadowfall Palace.
Cassandra and Juliet had left the palace in great fear and ordered the city’s inhabitants to go to the underground shelters to prepare for battle against the ancient dragons.
Of course, this was unnecessary.
When the two saw Atlas mount the ancient dragon standing before all the other dragons, they realised that everything was in order.
When the panic in the city subsided and Atlas entered the palace with each ancient dragon behind him, he turned around and looked at Aveline, surprising both Cassandra and Juliet by saying, "Welcome home, mother."
Of course, neither Sage had expected to hear the word ’mother.’
Still, every second that Atlas’s memories came to mind, it was only natural for them to remember the relationship between Aveline and Atlas.
It could truly be said that they were like mother and son.
"So this is where we live?" Cosmo asked.
The moment the old man opened his mouth, the entire palace was filled with magical energy.
Cassandra had instinctively begun to respond to Cosmo’s meaning, and even though the two of them didn’t notice, every vampire and elf around them had fallen to the ground and fainted.
If it weren’t for the Life Stone in Atlas’s heart, he would probably have fainted too, caught between two such pure meanings.
"Can someone help Irene?" Atlas asked, and as Juliet began to carry Irene, Atlas said, "Follow me."
It was time to summon Constantine.
