Chapter 212: Tholien Mountains Shall Be Next

The moment the devil realised this, his expression became even more ferocious. His claws had grown, his teeth had sharpened, his ears had become pointed, and his pupils had narrowed.

Not only that, but the devil’s magic had become more stable, almost noble.

In short, the devil was going berserk.

Still, this was a big mistake. Even though berserk mode greatly increased a monster’s power, it also caused its intelligence to decrease throughout the battle.

In short, the devil had thrown away his only active guarantee and opportunity, his intelligence, just to resist Atlas.

Atlas, on the other hand, had quickly activated his Quick Discharge ability. At that moment, Atlas’s speed had increased by 1000%.

Just one second. In just one second, Atlas had made a total of 193 moves on the demon’s body.

Dozens of slashes, dozens of cuts, and most importantly, powerful blows targeting the nerve points.

When the attack ended, every muscle in Atlas’s body was screaming in pain, but he did not collapse. This was the power of the ability given to him by Hermes. It not only increased his speed and the elasticity of his arm and hand that wielded his weapon, but also strengthened his aura.

It was perfect.

When the attack ended, the demons that had gathered around had come to a halt. The scene they saw was, of course, not very logical to them.

The demon was completely covered in thin and thick cuts. It was covered in blood, and most importantly, the claws that the demon had relied on so much had been severed from its wrists.

At the same time, every low-powered demon around had begun to flee in earnest. Atlas, despite the pain he felt in his muscles, continued to advance and began to sacrifice more corpses to the Holy Sword Delusion, which strengthened him with each death.

With each strike, he found himself killing one of the demons of lower rank, those powerful enough to kill him in the black market of Herria City.

Indeed, the death count did not stop.

Juliet created a barrier in the sky, and the giant vines rising from her spell gathered the demons and crushed them, while Atlas ran from one side of the capital to the other, saving the local people and continuing to slay the demons.

After nearly forty minutes, when everything began to slow down, Atlas, covered in demon blood, was finally able to let go of everything.

He had not even used half of the aura and mana energy in his body. He had become so professional at fighting demons that he could quickly grasp their weak points.

With that, everything had come to an end.

When Juliet’s barrier covered the entire capital, every demon inside the barrier melted away as if exposed to sacred energy.

Atlas, covered in demon blood, collapsed to the ground from exhaustion.

His body was still very young. Despite the strength of his skin, muscles, and nerve cells, he still needed more time to develop.

Even though he was not mentally exhausted, the fact that he had killed hundreds of demons with his own hands without stopping had made him proud and physically exhausted.

Above all, attacking a demon of nearly divine power directly with the ability Hermes had bestowed upon him was what had exhausted Atlas the most.

When Juliet finally descended from the sky, she went straight to Atlas’ side and, contrary to what those around her expected, chose to smile rather than worry.

"You really are the greatest hero there is," Juliet said in a calm tone of voice, and began to pour water over Atlas as if it were raining.

When all the demon blood on Atlas had disappeared, Juliet helped him to his feet.

"Do we know how many of us have been lost?" Atlas asked. Before he could get an answer, he began to hear voices from around him.

As he ran around the city trying to kill every demon he saw, he had unwittingly helped more, or rather, more ’important’ half-humans.

Among them was the royal family of the kingdom. Unlike many royal families, they had not fled but had stood their ground against the demons at the cost of their lives.

It was truly admirable.

These sounds were not ordinary sounds. The applause of the hundreds gathered was almost deafening to Atlas and Juliet.

The cheers coming from all sides made Atlas’s heart pound and his eyes tremble. After all this time, he finally understood that the fire of heroism still burned brightly in the deepest corners of his soul.

He smiled and then saw someone. Not only he, but Juliet also managed to see this person. It was easy to recognise the familiar face of the large man standing immediately to the king’s right.

"Leon..." Atlas said calmly, and he was able to relax his entire body and let Juliet hold him.

"We can go, my lady..." Atlas said without pausing for a second. Seeing that Leon was well was enough for him.

"Are you sure you want to leave like this? Don’t you want to talk to him?" Juliet asked.

Atlas shook his head from side to side and replied, "No, I really don’t want to. He is strong, as strong as he was in his previous life, and I am sure he will continue to grow stronger. It is enough for me to know that he is safe."

Juliet smiled after hearing these words and kissed Atlas on the forehead.

"As you wish," Juliet said with great pride, then looked at the royal family and added, "The rest is up to you."

With that, the plant-like image enveloped the two once more, and they vanished as suddenly as they had appeared an hour earlier.

All that remained was a shocked crowd.

When the two reappeared inside Shadowfall Palace, Juliet quickly sent a message to the Sages, informing them that none of them should come and that everything had already been taken care of.

In short, everything had returned to normal.

Juliet had sent the High-Elves under her command to the surrounding continents one by one. The only reason for this was that they did not want today’s events to happen again.

Atlas had turned directly to Irene and assured her that there was no problem. The tears falling from Irene’s face were countless.

Atlas, however, realised that it was time to do something. It was time to see a few people he hadn’t seen in a long time.

"Lady Juliet. Please get ready, we need to go to the Tolien Mountains without delay," Atlas said suddenly.

When Juliet heard these words, she shook her head and looked at Cassandra. To be honest, going to the Tolien Mountains was a bit dangerous. Even if Constantine’s mother, Aveline and grandfather Cosmo said they would remember Atlas, it was a risk they shouldn’t take.

To put it simply, Juliet was a force that would be defeated by Cosmo in a prolonged battle. Not only Juliet, but among the Sages, only Talon, Cassandra, and, of course, Cordelia herself, the most powerful being in the entire world, could stand up to Cosmo.

Therefore, going there was a huge risk.

Still, Atlas had survived there in his previous life. Cosmo and especially Aveline were not people who destroyed everything that came before them.

Still, the only reason for this was that Atlas was much weaker than every dragon on the mountain. It was true. Even a baby dragon belonging to the ancient dragon race was on the same level as Atlas’s power in his previous life.

But that wasn’t the case now. Atlas was much stronger and wanted to go to the mountain with a Sage.

So there was only one way to do this.

Juliet would teleport Atlas to the mountain and remain in Shadowfall Palace herself.

That was exactly how the plan had been formed.

When the next day arrived, Atlas had rested well, taken a shower, eaten enough food, and arrived at the throne room fully prepared.

Cassandra was stressed. To be honest, Irene didn’t want Atlas to go. The messages from the other Sages were the same. Each of them argued that it was foolish, at least until Cordelia returned or Cassandra joined him.

The only person who completely trusted Atlas’s actions was Juliet herself. The Ancient Woman had seen what Atlas had done just yesterday, so there was no reason for her not to trust him.

Whether it was an ancient dragon, a god, or a goddess, Juliet was certain that Atlas was someone who could melt the ice in their hearts.

"Are you ready, young man?" Juliet asked in a steady tone.

Atlas nodded his head up and down and said, "I am ready, my lady."

With that, Atlas’s body was covered in Juliet’s mana, and when that mana transformed into various types of flowers and plants, Atlas disappeared.

When he opened his eyes again, Atlas found himself facing a familiar sight. He couldn’t help but smile.

Compared to his previous life, he could sense every dragon watching him secretly. Still, nothing mattered to him. Before him, he could see the stone steps of the staircase. Thousands of steps led to the top of the mountain, to the ancient dragons’ lair.

He smiled as if nothing were amiss and then began climbing the steps one by one, without using any special abilities, relying solely on the strength of his own body.

Every second of remembering the past was much better for him.
