Chapter 211: Huge Bloodriver

When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in the heart of the Prion Kingdom, inside the capital city.

The scene before them was completely unexpected.

"KYAAA!!!"

"HELP!!!"

The cries for help that followed one after another shook Atlas. Not out of fear, but simply because he had seen this scene again.

Juliet, however, seemed to have grown accustomed to this sight. She held Atlas’s hand tightly and said, "Don’t hold back, do whatever you have to do to protect everyone... You love the Half-Humans, don’t you? Here’s your chance."

These words entered Atlas’s ear and instantly settled in the deepest part of his mind.

Juliet had flown into the air the moment she spoke those words.

The capital of the Prion Kingdom was under attack by hundreds of demons. It was impossible for a kingdom that was not particularly powerful, an ordinary kingdom with only one ten-ringed wizard, to withstand the demons.

Unfortunately, the barriers could only protect the kingdom to a certain extent.

Although the successive barriers placed around the small kingdoms could hold back mid-level demons, low-level demons had managed to sneak in.

The Prion Kingdom was one of those kingdoms.

Atlas began running around without stopping for even a second.

When Juliet began suppressing the demons around her, Atlas had already started rescuing the half-humans trapped under the wooden and stone houses.

Each half-human looked at him with strange expressions. Of course they did. No human could come and say they didn’t hate half-humans. At least the half-humans in this kingdom were aware of that.

Until last year, their kingdom had been surrounded by humans and faced the threat of destruction.

How could they not be afraid?

Still, Atlas was different. They could see it just from his gaze.

The fact that he was running to a different place every second and even taking them to areas he thought were safe was enough to explain everything.

When Atlas’ gaze suddenly locked onto a spot, the people he was trying to save could see what was happening. Perhaps it was a demon as tall and gaunt as him, walking slowly.

Atlas’s gaze suddenly changed, and without pausing for a second, he drew the Holy Sword Delusion from his inventory.

He didn’t know how, but the demon in front of him was a being that hadn’t yet reached a high level but was very close to it.

It was something Atlas could defeat right now, but he couldn’t do it while protecting those behind him and focusing on the demon at the same time.

Still, his mind was clear; he wasn’t a fool, he had been in this kind of situation thousands, tens of thousands of times before.

That’s why he turned to those behind him and said, "Get as far away as you can. The closer you can get to the Great Sage Juliet, the faster you can enter her domain, and the easier it will be to escape. Don’t look back for even a second."

When Atlas’s words reached the ears of the half-humans, none of them could say a thing. Many of them were too weak. Among them were five or six mages with five or six magic rings, but each of them was injured.

How could they even imagine helping Atlas?

Since each of them knew this, none of them said anything and immediately left the area, listening to Atlas. In the centre of the capital, Juliet was busy releasing a massive amount of mana to create barriers that, though not as powerful as Bellatrix’s, were still quite strong.

In short, within a short time, that area would become the safest place in the entire capital.

That wasn’t all. Juliet had already sent an emergency message to Cassandra and the others. In short, at least one Sage would be able to finish their work quickly and come to their aid.

Atlas swallowed hard. He had calmed himself as much as possible and, holding Delusion tightly, activated the aura abilities in his body—"Shadow of the Goddess" and "Owner of the Sacred Flames."

The demon in front of him hesitated when he saw these abilities. Looking carefully at Atlas, he said, "I didn’t expect it to be me who would find you, Atlas Shorekeeper."

As soon as Atlas heard these words, he lunged forward as if there was nothing in front of him and then used his Dead Plains ability to spread a massive area around him that could strengthen him.

This was not his maximum power-up mechanism; after all, there were Starry Night and many other abilities, but these might be sufficient for the demon before him. At least to strengthen his body.

When Atlas’ sword was covered in black and blood-red aura colours, he began to look less like a human and more like a demon than the demon in front of him.

It was obvious that the demon in front of him was stressed. After all, the latest report they had received about Atlas’ abilities had only described perhaps a third of the power he was currently unleashing.

Compared to his previous state, Atlas was almost godlike. That was exactly how powerful he had become.

Just as in his previous life, either hundreds or thousands of high-ranking demons would attack him at the same time, or a superior demon would attack him directly. There was no other way for him to fall.

With each step he took, he approached the demon at an incredible speed, and the demon released an enormous amount of mana with a single move.

Without warning, walls of flame dozens of metres long began to spread towards Atlas and the surrounding area in a matter of seconds, and the already burning houses began to look as if they were under a sea of flames.

Still, using fire against Atlas was downright foolish.

Atlas absorbed the flames coming at him and then combined the energy of the flames with his aura, releasing it from the tip of his sword.

A thin line, Atlas began to advance towards the demon as if he were using a rapier and attacking with it.

Although the demon had avoided the attack, half of the dozens of lesser demons that had begun to surround Atlas had already been destroyed by the impact of this attack alone.

The demon was surprised. It was clear that Atlas was no easy opponent, and for that very reason, he had to take him seriously.

The moment the devil realised this, his expression became more ferocious. His claws had grown, his teeth had sharpened, his ears had become pointed, and his pupils had narrowed.

Not only that, but the devil’s magic had become more stable, almost noble.

In short, the devil was going berserk.

Still, this was a big mistake. Even though berserk mode greatly increased a monster’s power, it also caused its intelligence to decrease throughout the battle.

In short, the devil had thrown away his only active guarantee and opportunity, his intelligence, just to resist Atlas.

Atlas, on the other hand, had quickly activated his Quick Discharge ability. At that moment, Atlas’s speed had increased by 1000% for just a moment.

Just one second. In just one second, Atlas had made a total of 193 moves on the demon’s body.

Dozens of slashes, dozens of cuts, and most importantly, powerful blows targeting the nerve points.

When the attack ended, every muscle in Atlas’s body was screaming in pain, but he did not collapse. This was the power of the ability given to him by Hermes. It not only increased his speed and the elasticity of his arm and hand that wielded his weapon, but also strengthened his aura.

It was perfect.

When the attack ended, the demons that had gathered around had come to a halt. The scene they witnessed was, of course, far from logical to them.

The demon was completely covered in deep and shallow cuts. Every part of it was drenched in blood, and most importantly, the claws it had so trusted had been severed from its wrists.

Meanwhile, every low-powered demon in the vicinity had begun to flee in fear. Atlas, however, continued to advance despite the pain in his muscles, offering more corpses to the Holy Sword Delusion, which grew stronger with each death.

With each strike, he found himself killing one of the low-power demons of low power, capable of being killed in the black market of Herria City.

Indeed, the death count did not stop.

Juliet created a barrier in the sky, and the massive vines rising from her magic gathered the demons and crushed them, while Atlas ran from one side of the capital to the other, saving the local people and continuing to slay the demons.

It was truly a river of blood, and to be frank, everyone had begun to trust Atlas, wherever he went.

They did not reject his words for even a second, and each half-human tried to run towards Juliet’s barrier without even looking back.

Unlike Bellatrix’s barrier, Juliet’s was made of massive pieces of wood and vines that wouldn’t shatter even if they burned, and it only allowed living beings other than demons to pass through.

So it was far from perfect.

Still, it was the most useful barrier for their current situation.
