Chapter 207: Eos

Atlas immediately fell to the ground and finally let go of the Holy Sword Delusion. The two struggled to keep from laughing. Despite the cheers that suddenly rose from the crowd, the two were just trying to relax.

When Iso walked towards the two through the crowd, he asked, "Are you all right, my lord?" and when he saw Atlas’ smiling expression more clearly, he turned to Emma and said, "All right, you’re fine."

"Do you need help?" Iso asked. Emma shook her head from side to side, while Atlas suddenly stood up.

Atlas left the area to use one of the showers in the training ground, and shortly afterwards went to one of the rest areas in the palace.

As he lay down on one of the chairs in the area, he said, "Hero Connecting," again and opened the system panel. In short, since he had already gotten used to the Holy Sword Delusion, he thought he could now choose the next god or goddess.

He still had three more chances left.

That was precisely why he began to navigate the panel carefully. This time, he had no idea who to choose. He just wanted to select someone, finish everything completely, and then continue his training.

For that reason, he began to constantly navigate the system panel and started searching for gods and goddesses he knew well, and even heroes who might be considered ’low-level’ in others’ eyes.

After a short while, he realised he was overthinking everything and could just pick the massive power centres directly.

That’s why he started searching for the names of the titans one by one and then got into a big thinking phase about who to pick.

He had been pondering which titan to choose. After all, there were plenty of other powerful titans besides Gaia. Among them were later-generation titans like Hecate and Selene, but Atlas honestly didn’t know whom to choose.

He had three chances. Even if he could gain more chances in the future, he had no option to reject the ones he chose or redo his selections.

So he had one chance and one shot.

Actually, three chances and three shots would be more accurate. Still, nothing had changed. He had to make the right choice, and it had to be a very good, logical choice that would take him further.

That was precisely why he wanted to find those who were superior in both magic and close combat. Those titans.

This drove him to search for the first titan he would choose.

After navigating the system panel for a while, he managed to reach the letter ’E’ and found "Eos," Selene’s sister.

One of the three children of Hyperion and Theia, and also another part of Helios, the Sun, and Selene, the Moon. Therefore, Eos is the Dawn herself.

Eos was not someone who would stand out in battle. The ancient titan herself had taken many mortal husbands, as required by her mythology and life. Still, this did not change anything. Being a second-generation titan made Eos someone who truly stood at the top of the sacred realm, like Selene and Helios.

He could have chosen Eos first, then Selene, and finally Helios. The three siblings—one male, two female—could certainly offer things that complemented each other.

At least, that was what Atlas hoped...

Atlas smiled broadly and, without hesitation, selected Eos’s name and accepted the system prompt.

When his mind closed again, he closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, he found himself in a place very different from where he had been waiting.

Atlas was aware that a few hours meant nothing to gods or goddesses... but he had seen Selene and the others together in that area just a few hours earlier.

He assumed Eos was there too.

Nevertheless, standing before him was a woman sitting in an incredibly comfortable-looking chair, half-naked, with brown hair adorned with flowers, wearing what appeared to be a transparent... curtain-like garment, but much more elegant than anything Atlas had ever seen.

This was Eos herself.

Whether he wanted to or not, Atlas felt as though he had fallen in love. Perhaps the feelings he had felt when looking at Cassandra were not present in his heart, but there was a strange feeling... a longing? No... Atlas was simply filled with a sense of admiration for someone.

"Magnificent... She is so... stunning..." Atlas couldn’t help but say.

He was so captivated by the woman in front of him that he didn’t even notice the Chaos-Born around him, or even Selene and Helios.

He stared silently at Eos, and this silence continued until Eos spoke:

"Young man."

When Eos said these two words, Atlas stood up from where he was and said, "It is a pleasure to meet you, my lady..."

Eos saw the expression in Atlas’s eyes... yet she could also tell that Atlas was different. Atlas was not looking at this woman with the eyes of a lover... he was truly a loyal person who loved her.

"I feel the same way. We had thought you would choose Selene first, but choosing me has made me very happy. Still, I want you to know that the abilities I will give you are not very good. As you know, I, Eos, am a passive goddess. I cannot be said to be very powerful," Eos said with a smiling expression.

Atlas smiled back at the goddess and replied, "I will choose both Lady Selene and Lord Helios, my lady. So I don’t think there will be any problems."

Without pausing for even a second, he continued,

"Eos. A second-generation Titan. One of the three children of the first-generation Titans, Hyperion and Theia, and Dawn herself. When her sister Selene sets in the sky, she is the only one who opens the gates of the day for her brother Helios and accompanies him... Don’t tell me you’re not powerful. You are the one who helps spread the first light in that interval when Nyx, the Night itself, fades. Isn’t that right?"
