Chapter 198: Meeting Room (2)

Bella then asked the question that had suddenly popped into everyone’s mind:

"How can we trust you? Just because the Sages value you doesn’t mean we can do this. Do you have any proof?"

At Atlas’s question, he shook his head and said, "Of course I can provide proof. Lady Nyx, please help me a little."

As soon as he said those words, something unexpected happened. Atlas had been thinking for several days about how he could do it, how he could gain everyone’s trust, and how he could get everything back on track and get everyone on board.

He thought about these questions for a long time and finally decided that it would be best to use the system he had. He would create a game utilising Nyx’s power and the system’s full potential.

He would use Nyx’s shadow, which would draw enormous power from Nyx’s body, but it was worth it.

Everything was aimed at persuading each noble to assist Atlas.

Atlas’s shadow had begun to grow rapidly. This shadow, which even covered the Sages, began to resemble the image of another being rather than Atlas’s own.

After only a short time, Amon and Surtur had separated from the shadow as if they were afraid of it. Naturally, no one had expected such a thing, and they realised that even the Shadow Cats behaving this way was extraordinary.

After only a few dozen seconds, Atlas’s shadow had begun to change everything. The shadow now resembled a woman.

At that moment, each of them heard the gentle yet unwavering voice of a woman echoing in their minds:

"Submit."

At those words, everyone trembled suddenly... of course, it was only natural that the mere sound of the voice alone would terrify them. Every noble in the room sensed an immense significance, an unimaginable pressure, and the very real presence of hundreds, thousands of sacred beings watching them.

"Every word Atlas speaks, every step he takes, every breath he takes, and every action he performs, you will see as if I, Nyx, had done them."

As these words echoed in their minds, their eyes involuntarily turned to Atlas. Even the Sages were naturally filled with adrenaline. Despite being only a replica of her shadow in the sky, Nyx’s voice alone could push Cordelia’s mind to the breaking point.

The most powerful goddess truly did not hesitate to display her power.

Atlas did not wait even a second and began to speak:

"We destroyed the passageway in the World Tree. Thanks to a request I made to Lord Hermes, we managed to free Archangel Michael, who was the reason for the angels falling from the sky recently. Michael was fully occupied with committing a massacre in heaven, or at least in the [false] heaven."

"I explained exactly what happened in the pages I gave you. The Devil Worshippers must have the second Life Stone in their possession. According to what Lucifer himself told me, we should not be searching for the stone. All the Sages joined forces and, since we became aware of the stones’ existence and obtained the first one, each of them has been searching for the second. There has been no result."

As Atlas spoke these words, the figure of Nyx that had formed in his shadow slowly faded away, and a sense of calm descended upon the room. At least everyone had managed to reach a state where they could breathe comfortably.

"In short, you want us to prepare for war, is that correct, young master?" Bella asked suddenly, her face bearing an eternal seriousness.

"Yes, Your Majesty. I could have forced all of you, since I have the Sages behind me, but I want to show you as much as possible what can happen when we work together." Atlas replied and, without pausing for a second, continued:

"I know how foolish it is to trust people. If it were up to me, my race could disappear, and I could accept the death of everyone except a few people I love with a smile—I know that. Still, there are a few noble humans among us who can help us. That’s why I want you to trust me, no matter how difficult it may be."

With Atlas’ words, each noble looked at the other. Every word he said was true from the moment he indicated that he could use the Sages, and every other word seemed true as well.

Atlas was trying to change everything, but he couldn’t change the heart of the human race. After all, he wasn’t a creator.

Amidst all these thoughts, Bella coughed softly, then turned to Atlas and asked, "Young master, what exactly do you want from us?"

With Bella’s words, Atlas managed to take a deep breath. It was clear how much this breath had relieved him.

"I want you to prepare yourselves. Whatever you do, never give in to those looks. Never, ever fall into the clutches of the demons, and gather yourselves for battle, Your Majesties," Atlas replied.

His words had made everything certain. If what he said was true, if this was not a game, and if the person who had spoken to them was truly a goddess, then there could only be one meaning:

War was near. And it would come much faster than expected. Unthinkable thoughts and events were already taking place in hidden corners of the world, but it was impossible to find them.

It was as if every piece of evil was cleverly hidden from Atlas and everyone else, far and wide.

It was an unthinkable event.

Bella shook her head and then said, ’Please explain your plan in detail, young master. I am listening with both ears and all my heart.’

Every noble in the room nodded and agreed with Bella’s words.

Atlas began his rapid explanation. In a short time, they had discussed the barriers and power balancers to be established within nearly 70 kingdoms and 11 empires to counter every possibility, as well as the distribution of items to promising mages to make it easier for them to train.
