Chapter 197: Meeting Room (1)

"Rise, Lynx Ombre. Never fall before your enemies and always do what you have done all your life," Atlas said suddenly, and as Lynx stood up, he handed him the armour.

Lynx, like the other two, took a relaxed stance and took a few steps back.

Atlas suddenly looked at the nobles around him and, without pausing for a second, said, "I apologise for interrupting the ball. I couldn’t think of a better time to bestow ranks upon my vassals. Please let us continue with our current activity, the musical dance."

With that, the announcement of the vassals had come to an end.

Now, a musical dance would follow, and then the most important part of the day for Atlas would begin: the presentations to the important nobles.

-----

Nearly three hours had passed. When night fell and the clock struck twelve, the ball had ended, and over a hundred and fifty nobles had left the massive Shadowfall Palace. Each of them had been sent to stay in the city’s most beautiful locations, places that could be considered grand castles, while a few remained in the palace.

These few individuals had been summoned to that meeting room by Emperor Aether at Atlas’s request.

The strange thing was that Atlas had encountered something he couldn’t even remember from his previous life. While in the ballroom, his eyes had searched for the Dwarf King, but instead, someone else had attended the ball under the title of King.

At least, that’s what Atlas had heard.

According to what he had learned from Emma, the king he knew was bedridden. Completely so. According to what Atlas had learned, someone or something had infiltrated Nirdorth Castle, something that was good at hiding and whose identity had not been discovered to this day, and had left the king, who had stepped forward to protect his children, bedridden.

His child, or rather the Dwarf King’s daughter Bella, had become the Dwarf Queen. Bella was young; in Atlas’s previous life, she had fought to protect the Dwarf Kingdom’s castle, also known as the kingdom’s entrance, and had died despite winning the battle.

That was all Atlas knew about this woman. She had also been 316 years old at the time of her death. Assuming she died nearly three years after the war began, Bella should now be 309 years old.

Dwarf Queen Bella was gathered in the meeting hall with the person next to her, her mother, and the former Queen Mia, who was known as one of the most intelligent women who had ever lived.

The only person from the High Elf Kingdom who attended the meeting was Thalia Bijoux, the High Elf Queen herself. According to the Queen and the High Elf tradition, it was too early for her children to be involved in matters outside the kingdom.

An Elf Noble had to be at least 50 years old, or considered a fully mature elf in the eyes of the elves, to be able to take care of the affairs of their home before their father or mother, the head of the household, passed away.

In this case, there was no one of sufficient maturity to attend the meeting among the High Elf nobles, that is, the members of the royal family. Unfortunately, the oldest among them was only 48 years old.

Aster Bloom, who came from the Bloom Imperial family, attended the meeting on behalf of the imperial family.

Every member of the Epsilon Imperial Family, namely Aether, Aelia, and their children Minerva and Lars, had attended the meeting hall, along with Eva Shorekeeper, who was now recognised as a member of the imperial family and also served as the imperial duchess.

Of course, there were many more nobles from various empires and kingdoms present. It was also a fact that nearly fifteen emperors and over forty kings and queens were in the room.

Finally, the seven most powerful people in the world were seated in the chairs behind Atlas, and to be honest, the atmosphere was incredibly tense. It could even be described as deadly.

Emma was guarding the door outside the room, Iso was serving tea to the guests, and Lynx was sitting in a chair on the side of the room, taking notes.

"I have gathered you all here for an important reason. Emperor Aether, Empress Aelia, my sister Eva Shorekeeper, and each of the Sages standing behind me are aware of this reason. Lady Thalia, at the very least, has some knowledge of it... A bit more than just a little. First, I would like to thank you all for coming, and I implore you to listen carefully."

As soon as Atlas spoke these words, everyone in the room fixed their eyes on him.

Upon noticing this, he pulled out a few pieces of paper from his inventory and, with Cassandra’s magic, sent them to each person in front of him.

The nobles who read the papers turned back to Atlas with great curiosity and concern, and Bella asked, ’Are these real?’

Atlas shook his head and gave a firm answer, ’Yes.’

Bella then asked the question that had suddenly popped into everyone’s mind:

’How can we trust you? Just because the Sages value you doesn’t make it any easier for us to do this. Do you have any proof?’

At the sound of Bella’s question, Atlas shook his head and said, ’Of course I can provide proof. Lady Nyx, please help me a little.’

As soon as he said those words, something unexpected happened. Atlas had been thinking for several days about how he could do it, how he could gain everyone’s trust, and how he could get everything back on track and get everyone on board.

He thought about these questions for a long time and finally decided that the best thing to do was to use the system he had at his disposal. He would create a game using Nyx’s power and the system’s potential.

He would use Nyx’s shadow, which would draw immense power from Nyx’s body, but it was well worth it.

Everything was aimed at convincing every noble to assist Atlas.
