Chapter 190: The Fallen Angel

Just as Atlas was trying to understand what was happening, his body was overcome with intense pain. It seemed to have started again —the Life Stone... the Life Stone within his body had been triggered again.

But how? What could have triggered the Life Stone’s spread? And why had it been triggered now?

As all these thoughts raced through his mind, Atlas had literally closed his ears and was trying to ignore the echoing voices in his head.

Do what you always did best, be a hero, Atlas.

Do what you always did best, be a hero, Atlas.

Do what you always did best, be a hero, Atlas.

This sentence kept repeating itself, as if Atlas had forgotten something and Chaos was trying to warn him.

At least he didn’t have to endure the words, ’If you keep this up, you’ll die,’ like before. Of course, deep down, Atlas thought that the whole world scolding him was better than Chaos scolding him personally.

Even though all that strange pressure and bad feeling had left his body, that weird feeling hadn’t left him for even a second. At least he could breathe comfortably now.

"You killed everyone, didn’t you?" Atlas asked suddenly.

Bellatrix shook her head and said, "We even destroyed the summoning formations, don’t worry."

With that, Atlas breathed a sigh of relief and turned to his sister, saying, "Sister, bring Lynx with you to the ball I’m throwing, and it might even make sense for you to take him as your dance partner."

Eva was particularly surprised when she heard these words.

"I don’t think I need a dance partner," Eva replied.

"True, you don’t need one, but I need Lynx. I need a reason to make him my vassal directly. I could be a duke and make 16 people dukes if I wanted to, but at least I need reasons to offer." Atlas replied.

"I refuse. Still, if you really want to, you can act like a knight accompanying me. That way, it will be clear that I have no relationship." Eva said.

Atlas raised an eyebrow as if suspicious and then asked, "Are you seeing someone?"

"Of course not. I don’t even have time to look for a relationship because of my work, and what I want isn’t exactly something I can talk about... Anyway, if you’re done, go. I need to report to Aether," Eva said.

Atlas rolled his eyes and gave up, saying, "Alright, do as you wish. I support your thoughts. I’ll find another reason... After all, he was the one who brought us the information. If Lady Bellatrix and you support him, everything will be fine."

Immediately after that, he turned to a few of the girls around him and calmly gave a direct order: "Gather everyone together, not a single one of you should be missing. Those who want to stay here can stay, but those who want to start a new life in the Shorekeeper Duchy can come with me."

The girls and women immediately nodded their heads and scattered like birds. Within just a few minutes, a group of a hundred people had gathered in a room that now seemed too small for them.

"Hold each other’s hands, now," Atlas said suddenly, and as soon as he said it, he took Leona’s hand.

At the same time, he took Bellatrix’s hand with his other hand and said, "You know where you’re taking us, my lady."

Within seconds, the hundred-person group was enveloped by Bellatrix’s spell, and everyone was teleported away. Almost... everyone...

When Atlas opened his eyes again, he realised he was in a completely different place. A place that made his entire body tremble—not from fear, but from trauma, a trauma to see an even greater demon... no, the devil himself.

The area was filled with flames... bright blue, hellish flames.

Atlas felt as though he had been teleported into hell itself. Perhaps he had been teleported. Perhaps it was all an illusion, but there was one thing that was real, and that was the thing Atlas saw before him.

"Hello, little man, I’m sorry to call you that, but I wanted to ask you for something. Something really urgent, I’d say."

When Atlas heard this voice, he stared in astonishment at the person in front of him. Inside a huge cage, unharmed, strong, with golden hair, silver wings, and bright red eyes, stood a man.

It was the very same man depicted in the images reflected in the paintings.

"Lucifer..." Atlas said suddenly, and without pausing for even a second, he added, "Please tell me, I will do whatever I can."

When Lucifer heard these words, he moved as close as possible to the farthest point of the cage and then sat down, watching Atlas for a few seconds.

Immediately after that, Lucifer’s hands glowed. A circular object had formed in the Fallen Angel’s hand... a pill or something of that sort.

Unable to reach outside the cage, Lucifer calmly threw the circular object towards Atlas, and when Atlas caught it in his hand, Lucifer began to speak:

"I heard you saved my brother. Demons talk a lot, you know? My pride has infected every one of them, as you know."

"The thing I threw at you is a talent pill. It’s something even gods and goddesses can barely get their hands on, and it allows them to copy their own talents and give them to others. I received it as a worship gift from someone I no longer remember in my youth, as a focus. Now it’s yours... and so is the talent inside it."

When Lucifer heard these words, Atlas stared at him and couldn’t say a thing.

Lucifer must have noticed this because he looked into his eyes and asked, "Aren’t you going to say anything, little man?" He continued to call Atlas "little man."

When Atlas heard these words, he scratched his head and then asked, as if nothing had happened, "Sir, what exactly do you want from me?"

It was a question that needed to be asked.
