Chapter 92: The Pity She-Wolves
Chapter 92: The Pity She-Wolves
Silvio frantically searched the residence for Draco’s figure since he needed to report. He had been searching for Rosina back in the city for two hours, but there was no sign of her.
Silvio returned home and reported the incident before it was too late, and Rosina would be missing. The guilt was eating him alive, and he blamed himself for getting distracted and being unable to protect Rosina, which was supposed to be his appointed job.
"Your Highness! Prince Draco!" Silvio screamed. Panic was evident in his voice, and his eyes were trembling.
Ferro appeared from the kitchen with a confused expression.
"Sir Silvio, His Highness was not here in residence. The Prince was in the Palace," Ferro stated with furrowed eyebrows.
"Oh my goddess," Silvio rubbed his face due to frustration, and his anxiety was racing toward the room.
"What is the problem, Sir Silvio? May I ask where the Princess is?" Ferro asked since they were supposed to stick together.
Silvio groaned loudly and looked straight into Ferro’s eyes. He stepped closer to her to prevent the servants from eavesdropping their conversation.
"Princess Rosina..." Silvio sighed deeply before talking again. "Is missing."
"What!?" Ferro exclaimed in disbelief. He didn’t ask further and grabbed a servant from his side and commanded them to fetch Draco from the Palace due to urgent matters back in his residence.
"You can explain later when Prince Draco arrives," Ferro stated with a heavy sigh. He was stressed since Rosina was kidnapped, but deep inside him. He wasn’t entirely worried since he had seen how clever Rosina was.
"Okay," Silvio replied and paced back and forth at the entrance while waiting for Draco. The more minutes that passed by, the more anxious he became. He began thinking that Rosina might be dead or she was tortured by those who wanted to harm her.
After a few minutes, a carriage noise was heard outside, and the door opened to reveal Draco in his untied clothes and a kiss mark on his white collar.
This made Silvio furrow his eyebrows since Draco looked like he came from having sex with someone else.
’What’s the matter?" Draco asked, and his eyes gazed at Silvio and Ferro standing beside one another.
"Sir Silvio had something to tell you," Ferro stated and gestured for Silvio to start talking.
"What is it?" Draco asked with a yawn. He wasn’t in a good mood to talk about serious matters since he was stressed from the upcoming journey toward the 13th pack territory and his other duties that he needed to finish beforehand.
Silvio swallowed tons of his saliva before looking back at Ferro. He sighed deeply to have the strength to say the words that needed to be let out.
"Her Highness, Princess Rosina is missing," Silvio stated with a clenched fist. He was expecting Draco to react and blame him, expecting punishment for his wrongdoings, but he was surprised by Draco’s reaction.
"Tell me more," Draco sighed and sat back on the sofa. He was calm and composed.
"Her Highness wanted to shop earlier in the city. We went to a shop selling jewelry pieces, but before that. A group of male wolves has been following us. I tried to convince the Princess multiple times to return home, but she was persistent in staying. I got confident that I was able to defend and protect her..." Silvio paused while gritting his teeth. Detailing what had happened was making him feel like sh*t for being weak.
"You can continue," Draco encouraged his friend to say more without any reaction to lessen the stress Silvio was carrying.
"I got distracted by the ladies that sold me a ring. I bought it for the Princess, but when I was about to give her the item. She was gone, and the male wolves that were staying outside vanished. I tried to find them for hours, but I was unsucceeded," Silvio looked down and clenched his pants.
Silvio expected to be punched in the face by Draco. He was ready to lose his friendship with Draco since he had lost his wife due to his irresponsibility as a personal guard.
Draco sighed and massaged his temples. He was conflicted about what to do. He knew Rosina could manage herself and she would be back unharmed for a couple of days, but since they were viewed as mates. He needed to do something for publicity.
"Then we should find her. Don’t worry too much," Draco patted Silvio’s shoulder before standing up. He knew that Silvio would be worried and blame himself for Rosina getting missing and kidnapped, but he couldn’t tell him that those men that took her must be the ones that should be scared for their lives.
"Princess Rosina might be suffering right now. She might be crying for help," Silvio groaned and grasped his hair. He imagined several scenarios where Rosina was screaming for help or anything related to a weak she-wolf that needed a savior to survive.
Draco pursed his lips and tried to suppress the laughter, trying to get out of his lungs. He turned around and pinched the bridge of his nose to prevent himself from chortling out loud.
Silvio looked at Draco’s back which was trembling a little. He thought Draco was crying from worrying about his wife’s possible situation. He felt terrible and didn’t want to see his friend getting miserable because of him.
"Draco..." Silvio whispered and went to hug Draco from behind. "I’m sorry for what happened to your wife. It’s my fault. I should be more responsible as her personal guard. I will accept whatever punishment you’ll give me."
"There’s no need for that," Draco replied and calmed himself. He changed his facial expression and faced Silvio. His hand lifted and placed on Silvio’s cheeks, caressing his skin.
"But..." Silvio sighed and looked down.
"You don’t have to worry. We will find her. I know she will be okay. Let’s do our best to search for her even if we need to turn this realm upside down," Draco grabbed Silvio’s hand and pressed it gently.
"I will take responsibility," Silvio stated firmly. In his mind, he would kill anyone responsible for kidnapping Rosina. He wouldn’t stop until all of them were swimming in their own pool of blood.
Draco noticed the change in Silvio’s facial expression. He was surprised at how protective Silvio was toward Rosina. That made him feel jealous since he was one of the closest people he had and trusted him.
As the day went by, Draco summoned and hired wolves that would track Rosina’s location and whereabouts. What happened to Rosina was still hidden from the Monarchs since Draco didn’t want to publicize it, especially since several nobles would take advantage of the situation, and Draco didn’t like that to happen.
The tracking was done discretely with Silvio while Draco stayed in residence to make it look like nothing unusual happened.
"I wonder what made you get kidnapped," Draco whispered and looked at the clear dark sky. "Are you really kidnapped?"
Draco chuckled at his own statement. He didn’t know why, but he wasn’t worried about Rosina. Moreover, he was excited that Rosina had come home safely. He wanted to know what happened in detail, especially how she escaped or killed those who had done her wrong.
"You’re strong that I don’t even need to worry about you," Draco muttered before going back inside since the air was chilly.
_-_-_
"Achoo!" Rosina sneezed silently as she tried to keep as silent as possible. She was still in the carriage, and it looked like they were still waiting for more victims to come.
’Who is talking about me at this time.’ Rosina thought before wiping the snot from her nose using her hand. She was getting bored sitting in the carriage.
The wolves around were not also not checking them multiple times. They all look confident that the she-wolves they kidnapped wouldn’t be able to escape.
’My back hurts,’ Rosina thought and shifted slightly to the right. That was when she heard a moan from behind. She turned around and saw a pretty she-wolf dressed in commoner’s clothes, but she was a looker.
’She was getting conscious!’ Rosina exclaimed in her thoughts when she saw the she-wolf open her eyes, and both of them had eye contact.
The she-wolf looked around, and panic surged in her body, but before she could scream and make everyone know that, she was conscious. Rosina had head-b^tted the she-wolf to make her unconscious again.
’I don’t want you to destroy my enjoyment because you’re a d^mb bish,’ Rosina thought and glared at the she-wolf.
One thing Rosina learned from the past years is that if you woke up in an unknown place. Make sure to investigate the area for possible escape channels instead of screaming and crying like a pathetic weakling that needed a savior.
’These girls will likely die or become a slave. How their life changes in a day,’ Rosina sighed deeply. Somehow, pitied them.
