Chapter 89: The Queen’s Sudden Invitation

Chapter 89: The Queen’s Sudden Invitation

For the next few days, Rosina received a couple more invitations from the nobles. Wanted to get to know her since she became the new member of the royal family, but Rosina knew their real intentions.

In the world of nobles and royals. Having connections was the best way to survive since having an ally with power can strengthen your own power.

Currently, Rosina was sitting in the garden and enjoying the fresh sunny day. She and Draco have been communicating normally, but he has been away for a long hour to prepare for their trip to the 13th pack’s outer camp.

"They have their eyes on me now," Rosina whispered and threw away another letter on the ground.

"Your Highness?" Fina knocked on the door and entered with a tray in hand that had a letter sitting on top.

"What is it?" Rosina replied while opening another letter, but threw it immediately when she saw the ’invitation’ word written on the paper.

"Your Highness, the Queen had summoned you to the Palace in the afternoon," Fina stated and handed Rosina the Queen’s letter.

Rosina wanted to reject it since she knew that the Queen’s invitation was up to no good, but at the same time, she was also curious about what the Queen would say to her.

"Let’s go," Rosina stated and stood up. She had already changed into her outfit for the day.

"But Your Highness, the Queen had stated to meet you in the afternoon," Fina reminded since she thought Rosina didn’t see the time indicated in the letter.

"I know," Rosina smiled and went out of the door. "Prepare the carriage."

Fina squeaked since she never expected Rosina to go out of the scheduled time for her.

Rosina didn’t care since she had nothing to do and wanted to meet the Queen sooner. It took a while before the carriage arrived and Rosina went to the Palace.

The guards made way for her and told a servant that she had arrived to meet the Queen. Since her arrival was too early than the schedule, the Queen took a while to rearrange her own schedule for that day.

"These paintings..." Rosina muttered while looking at the portraits attached to the walls of the hallways. The paintings had faces of all the royal members from old to new generations.

Rosina was familiarizing each of their faces since she needed such visual information in the future.

"They are all beautiful and handsome," Rosina muttered while admiring their appearances when she noticed one thing. Draco was not included in any of the portraits.

"Even Gastone has a huge portrait all by himself," Rosina stated and looked at the gigantic painting of Gastone, wearing an extravagant outfit that screamed that he was a Crown Prince.

Next to his portrait were him with the King and Queen.

"Where’s Draco?" Rosina muttered and tried looking around, but even the little portraits at the side were mostly Gastone and the other royal children and concubines.

"Now that I think about it. I haven’t met the King’s other wives," Rosina muttered. She was about to proceed to the other hallway when a servant approached her.

"Your Highness, the Queen is ready to see you," the servant stated with a bow before standing behind and gesturing for Rosina to follow the path.

The Queen had met Rosina on the balcony and the snacks were already placed on the table for them to enjoy, but the Queen was still not there.

Rosina sat on the chair and gazed at the garden below, which had the blooming flowers started to wither away one by one as the petals fall to the ground.

The sound of the door opening had taken Rosina’s attention. That was when she saw the Queen entering with her Lady-in-waiting, but she had told them to wait inside.

Rosina stood up and curtsied at the Queen. "Your Highness, Queen Cinzia."

"My dear, you have arrived earlier than our meeting time," Cinzia stated as she sat on the chair that the servant pulled out for her.

"I have nothing to do back in my husband’s residence. That is why I decided to visit you earlier. I apologize for my sudden earlier, Your Majesty," Rosina stated and offered a small smile.

"Hmm, I have a meeting that I needed to attend. You should feel sorry indeed for disturbing me," Cinzia stated with a grumble before smiling and raising her cup of tea to Rosina. "But I don’t mind your actions since I can talk to you early."

"What would you like to talk about, Your Majesty?" Rosina stated while pouring milk into her tea. She had hinted at multiple scenarios of what the

Queen wanted to talk about it in her mind.

"I know you have received multiple invitations from the nobles," Cinzia stated with a knowing smirk as she placed her cup back on the table.

"Indeed," Rosina giggled. She lightly shook her head since she never thought that the Queen would take notice of her own situation.

"You should attend one of the invitations. After all, you’re a wife of a Prince and now you are a Princess. Commonly, you should appear in public," Cinzia stated and crossed her hands in front of her chest.

Rosina was silent since she was weighing the invitations, appearing in public gatherings, and the Queen’s words. She looked at Cinzia straight into her eyes and stated. "I will attend in one of the invitations if their gathering suits my taste, but for now, no one does."

"What kind of gatherings do you like?" Cinzia stated and leaned closer. She had a wide smile on her face and was anticipating Rosina’s answer.

Rosina furrowed her eyebrows when she saw how Cinzia’s facial expression changed. That made her think that Cinzia was behind in the mass invitation she received in a day.

Rosina also thought of her response since she couldn’t give an honest answer. She wanted something that would benefit her both physically and emotionally pleasure.

"Well, I don’t have anything in mind right now, Your Majesty, but I will join one if they captured my attention," Rosina replied since she didn’t want to give a direct answer. She knew the Queen would do something that would force her to attend.

"I see, but you should go to the events. Everyone is curious about you," Cinzia giggled and her eyes showed something that Rosina didn’t like.

"I will do my best," Rosina smiled innocently before going out of the balcony.

’Is she plotting something?’ Rosina thought when she reached outside. She felt suffocated while talking to the Queen for a few more minutes.

Rosina chuckled since she never expected the Queen to be pressed about her going to the public and meeting the other nobles when they gave them a time limit before going to the 13th pack and concurring the whole area from the hands of a rogue.

As she was going out, a familiar figure approached her.

"Your Highness," Silvio stated and bowed in respect toward Rosina.

"Why are you here?" Rosina asked. She remembered that Silvio was not notified of her visit with the Queen.

"Because I am your personal bodyguard, Your Highness," Silvio answered. He kept his position and remained his head low.

Rosina’s brain had not registered clearly that Silvio was her personal bodyguard and needed to be with her most of the time. She sometimes forgot about him and went on with her day like nothing happened.

"I see, then we should get to know each other," Rosina exclaimed and extended her arms for Silvio to take.

Silvio tilted his head in confusion, but he didn’t ask and obeyed Rosina since he had a feeling that Rosina owned him and he needed to protect her since she was his master.

Silvio has his own horse, but Rosina forced him to stay inside the carriage.

"Your Highness. You know that I needed to stay outside and be alert if someone decided to harm you," Silvio explained while they rode back to the residence.

"I know you can protect me while you’re here inside the carriage," Rosina stated softly and leaned closer to Silvio, who became uncomfortable with their distance.

Silvio respected Draco so much that he became overprotective of his wife, Rosina. He wanted her to be safe on his watch since he knew that Draco had many enemies that wanted to end his life and those people would include Rosina as their target list to get on Draco’s nerves.

"Your Highness, if you visit the Queen next time. Please, let me come with you," Silvio stated nonchalantly. His facial expression was hard, but his eyes showed concern.

"Okay, I will," Rosina answered and took Silvio’s hand.

Silvio flinched at the sudden physical contact, but he let Rosina do what she wanted. After all, he couldn’t say no to her.

"Then..." Rosina looked straight into Silvio’s eyes. "...let us date."

"What!?" Silvio exclaimed in shock since he wasn’t expecting Rosina to ask him on a date.
