Chapter 87: The Dead Corpse

Chapter 87: The Dead Corpse

Rosina looked at Maura’s form as she walked past her. She knew that Maura didn’t even recognize her appearance. She stepped to the side to see what would happen if she saw Raul’s mummified d dead body.

Maura looked at each door. There was a sign attached to the handle of the door that told if the room was occupied or not.

"Well," Rosina muttered and saw the sign from her door. She had flipped it when she went out of her door. Excitement built up in her system when she wanted to see Maura’s reaction.

Maura felt delighted when she saw an available room. She hurriedly booked it and went to call Draco, grabbing the Heaven drink along the way.

It didn’t take long before Draco and Maura returned to the upper floor with the drink ready.

Rosina was still on the side, looking at them while making her presence less known to them. She could see the wide shy smile Maura had on her lips as she opened the door for Draco.

Rosina anticipated Maura’s reaction, and it didn’t take long before a loud shattering scream echoed in the room.

"Ahhhh!!! Someone is dead!" Maura screamed as she ran away from the room with tears in her eyes. She was crying from the shock that could possibly traumatize her.

"Help! Help me!" Maura added as she ran toward the tavern management to notify them of the corpse.

The nearby customer and employee that had heard her began to panic since the killer might be among them and could endanger their lives.

"There’s a dead body!"

"Someone died!?"

Multiple words started echoing inside the tavern, and everyone gossiped about the issue. The manager hurriedly came out of the back room with confusion in his eyes.

The manager went to the upper floor and checked the room to see what was inside.

Rosina liked what was happening. The chaos she created has added a new set of pleasures to her body. She was about to go when she realized Draco had not come out of the room.

With curiosity, Rosina looked inside the opened door and blended in with the staff coming inside the room to see the dead boy.

Draco was standing at the other side and looking over at the corpse with no reaction on his face. He stood there with a deadpan expression and sighed deeply before leaving the room.

Rosina was frozen in her spot since she was at the door’s entrance. Draco walked past her without any reaction, but she noticed a very subtle change in his facial expression before it vanished in just one second.

Draco smirked slightly before returning back to his deadpan expression. That confused Rosina since Draco always had his signature playful smile, but he looked serious.

Rosina was confused but shrugged it off since Draco didn’t recognize her, and that was enough for her to feel satisfied.

"Well, I guess I win," Rosina muttered before going out of the tavern when the commotion started getting bigger, and everyone panicked.

Several customers had already evacuated the area since some believed it was bad luck that someone died. It was terrible for business.

The manager was panicking since they needed to take out the body from the room and wanted to hide it from the public, but since the place was famous and a colossal business.

The competitors used the opportunity to bring it down.

Rosina heard how the story evolved from one gossip to another at how Raul died, but most of them said that he died because of too much pleasure from f^cking someone.

This gossip led to the question of...

Who did it to him?

"Pfft!" Rosina muffled her laughed when she walked passed the group of wolves talking in the group. They were gossiping; somehow, Rosina wanted to cause more chaos, especially for the royal family.

Rosina decided to join the gossiping she-wolves and acted like she was interested to hear what they were talking about.

"Gosh, the wolf that died in the Heaven tavern looked mummified."

"His body looked like it died for a few months! It’s terrible!"

The she-wolves exchanged words when Rosina spoked.

"Have any of you remember what happened during the racetrack and someone confessed that a noble had tortured him since he didn’t want to have sex with a noble wolf?" Rosina stated with widened eyes for an added effect of a gossiper.

The three she-wolves looked at her and let Rosina join their group.

"I thought that issue was settled in the palace, and both sides were given a fair trial?" a woman stated with curiosity and leaned closer to Rosina. "Don’t tell me this had something related to the dead body in Heaven’s tavern?"

Rosina shrugged since she didn’t want to give out many details. "But maybe a noble was involved in this accident," she whispered, putting both hands over their shoulders and pulling them closer.

"I heard a nobleman was seen inside the Heaven tavern after the incident happened. I heard that he was about to use the room that the corpse had died. Do you think it’s a coincidence, or was he related to the deceased commoner?" Rosina stated with a high-pitched tone. Her facial expression gave more life to the gossip she shared, making the she-wolves speculate if what she said might be true.

"That is highly possible," another she-wolf stated while nodding her head. "Nobles had taken advantage of the commoners and didn’t care about them," another one said, and the rest of her friends agreed.

"If a noble was indeed involved in this incident. Don’t you think the King and Queen are incompetent enough? They valued the nobles very much and gave them special treatment, while the lower classes get killed or arrested at a mere small mistake," Rosina added fuel to the fire as the she-wolves gasped in shock.

"If the Monarchy’s people will hear you. You’ll be dead by now," a she-wolf stated and looked around to see if they were guards nearby or anyone that worked under the Monarch.

"Maybe they are capturing and imprisoning wolves that talk about this kind of stuff because it is true and if it went to the public. Their reputation will be ruined," Rosina whispered, making the she-wolves gasp with her bravery to speak against the Monarchs.

"You’re right! They would do their best to avoid a scandal in their name. The Monarchs are also trying to cover Noble’s wrongdoings to keep their support!"

The three she-wolves started gossiping non-stop as Rosina began walking backward, letting her presence vanish since she had done her part. Rosina was having fun watching the gossip she created spread like wildfire. The more it passed to a wolf’s mouth, the more the story changed from normal to exaggeration.

"That feels good," Rosina stated with a huge smile. It boosted her mood and added to the pleasure she experienced after eating a wolf’s soul.

Rosina planned to return to the Palace since she had done what she wanted. She had forgotten that she didn’t transform back into her original features.

A hand grasped her shoulders and pulled her back. Rosina turned around and saw Draco holding her tightly. His eyes looked at her threateningly as if he was not the person Rosina had married.

"It was you!" Draco exclaimed and tightened his grip on Rosina’s hand. "Who are you?"

Rosina looked him dead in the eyes. She grabbed his hand, twisted it to give him pain, and removed his hand from her skin.

"Who are you?" Rosina asked since she didn’t want to be known by Draco. She tried to keep something to herself that no one knew.

"I-" Draco paused and took a step back. "I’m someone who wasn’t able to have a good time since there was a corpse in my room, and my partner was traumatized. Thanks to someone," Draco stated firmly and was referring to Rosina.

"I pity you," Rosina answered, turned her back, and continued walking, but she realized she was going in the Palace’s direction with Draco behind her.

"I know someone who can kill the same as you," Draco said softly. "I thought she was the only one like that, but today, I met you."

Rosina froze on her spot. She looked Draco dead in the eyes, and the memories of their meeting earlier made her pissed again.

"Well, I hope that she-wolf will kill you," Rosina stated with a growl. Showing her elongated fangs before shifting direction. She was going back to the city until Draco entered the Palace grounds.

"I doubt," Draco answered, which made Rosina stop in her tracks.

"What did you say?" Rosina faced Draco with utter disbelief. What he said made her want to prove her wrong.

"She can’t kill me because she’s my wife," Draco answered with a chuckle, which caught Rosina off guard, but she tried her best to act like a different wolf that had no idea who was Draco or his wife.
