Chapter 77: The Final Duel

Chapter 77: The Final Duel

Rosina watched everyone transform into their wolf form. The cracking of bones and whimpers of pain echoed in the arena, creating a melodic sound in Rosina’s ears.

"Ah!" Rosina sighed deeply. She felt her body heating up from the loud sound of pain coming from multiple wolves. She wanted to record the sound and played it every time she got h0rny.

"Lady, they’re done," Ferro whispered to notify Rosina.

The commoners had transformed into their wolf forms in different colors, sizes, and shapes, but one thing they had in common. All of them were radiating bloodlust.

"What a magnificent view!" Rosina exclaimed with a giggle. She inhaled the wolf scent lingering in the air.

Ferro had a cold sweat on the sideline, same with the servants situated in the place. They were uncomfortable with the sight of werewolves in one place and radiated immense dominance.

"Let’s start, Ferro," Rosina stated with a smirk and took a piece of cookie. She had created a chart where the werewolves would battle each other, and the winner would fight against the noble for the spot.

Ferro cleared his throat and announced the start of the battle. Five pairs would duel at the same time to shorten the time. Everyone was hyped up and howled as they enjoyed being in their beast form.

Rosina was enjoying the fight, and the scent of blood splattered on the floor when she smelled the odor that ruined her day.

"What’s happening?" Gastone’s voice was shocked when he saw what was going on. His eyes were fierce, and his breathing became rapid. He was angry. He looked at the one responsible and saw Rosina looking at him with deadpan eyes.

"Lady Rosina," Gastone muttered and went to the table where Rosina was seated.

Rosina stood up and curtsied. "Your Highness, welcome."

"What’s going on here?" Gastone tried to tone down his voice and pointed at the werewolves biting, snarling, and growling at one another. The scene was pure violence and brutality.

"I’m finding the best personal guard for myself," Rosina stated gently. She shifted her personality and acted the kind, gentle Rosina that Gastone knew.

"Didn’t the third Prince give you one?" Gastone was disappointed in Draco since he was supposed to be the one to choose Rosina.

"My fiance gave me permission to choose my guard," Rosina stated slowly, emphasizing each word. She thought Gastone would stop pursuing or giving attention to her since he had taken Melania as his unofficial partner.

"That’s nonsense!" Gastone opposed the idea that Rosina would handle the choice of her guard. "Do you even know the qualifications?"

Rosina’s mouth twitched. She had thought after the talk with Gastone a few days ago about her having a fiance. He would step back and mind his business, but she was wrong.

Rosina didn’t say a word and pointed at the duels going on in the arena.

"You’re a she-wolf. You shouldn’t dwell yourself on this kind of stuff and let men handle the rest. Go back to your fiance’s residence, and I will pick a personal guard for you. Consider this as my wedding gift," Gastone stated with pride. He felt he was better than Draco and could care for a woman better than him.

"Your Highness, can I ask for a different wedding gift instead?" Rosina stated cheerfully with a broad smile on her innocent face.

"Sure, what is it? I will give you everything you asked for," Gastone smirked and leaned closer to Rosina. He didn’t care if she had a fiance. As long as she was not married, he could take her away.

Rosina’s smile vanished and was replaced by a deadpan expression. She grabbed Gastone’s collar and pulled him down, her face an inch closer to him.

"Your Highness, I would appreciate it if you stop meddling with my affairs," Rosina whispered softly, but her eyes looked like a psychopath’s.

Gastone furrowed his eyebrow. He didn’t like how Rosina talked back to him since, in his mind, he knew what was best for her.

"That would be my wedding gift, Your Highness," Rosina returned to her acting to make everyone believe there was nothing going on.

Gastone wanted to object and prove to Rosina that she needed him, but he couldn’t disagree since it was the wedding gift Rosina asked for.

"Alright," Gastone answered firmly and looked down at Rosina with displeasure before walking out of the arena. His anger was seeping out, letting everyone know he didn’t like his conversation with Rosina.

"Meh," Rosina shrugged and returned to her seat to enjoy her time.

When Gatsone was out of the arena, a figure caught his eyes. It was Draco leaning against the wall with a playful smirk.

"How was your conversation with my wife?" Draco stated before walking in front of Gastone and taking a bite of the apple he carried.

"You’re an irresponsible man. You let your fiancee into that dirty place and let her make decisions. If something happened to her, it would be you who’s responsible for the blame," Gastone stepped forward and said those words with pure hatred.

Draco laughed at Gastone’s words. His playful smile dropped and was replaced with dominance. His eyes turned cold while staring into the Crown Prince. "My fiancee can handle herself. She doesn’t need someone who will treat her like a child. She knows what she wants and will strive to get it."

"What?" Gastone stated with disbelief. He looked at Draco as if he was crazy.

"My brother, you should focus more on your girl. Lady Melania would be sad if she knew you still chase after my fiancee," Draco added, brought his playful smile again, and tapped Gatsone’s shoulder repeatedly. "We don’t want girls to fight in the family."

"Oh, right," Gastone stated sarcastically before swatting Draco’s hand from his shoulder. He went away before giving Draco a look of hate.

Draco waved at him before glancing back at the arena. He felt proud that Rosina stood up for herself and that she was making her own decisions even though it was ridiculous.

"The Queen would surely react negatively to this," Draco muttered while shaking his head.

There was a new rule in the Palace before. It was the prevention of using the wolf form and living in their human body, which was adopted in recent years. Rosina was the one who decided to break that rule by asking multiple werewolves to shift.

Rosina sniffed the air and smelled Draco’s scent, but he was nowhere to be seen. She patted her head and brought back her focus on the battle.

A massive wolf stood in the middle of the arena. He had a grayish coat with honey-colored eyes. He was the final wolf that won against the competitors.

Rosina clapped for him. "You’re the winner."

The wolf howled with delight and started licking the wounds from the battle. A man walked toward Rosina in his armor and sword.

"Lady," Vinicio Udinesi, a noble knight from Moonstone pack, bowed toward Rosina. He was the winner in the knight’s competition among the other nobles.

’What is it, Sir?" Rosina asked and was confused at Vinicio’s intent. "Do you need anything?"

Vinicio shook his head. "I came here to fight and secure my place as your personal guard."

Rosina glanced at the commoner wolf, who was still wounded. The next duel was supposed to be tomorrow morning so the two parties could rest well.

"I don’t think I will allow that. Your opponent was not in great shape, which will be his disadvantage," Rosina explained since she didn’t want to be unfair.

The commoner wolf heard what Rosina stated. He glanced at his final enemy and measured his power and dominance.

"I see," Vinicio nodded in understanding. "Then I shall take my leave."

Vinicio bowed and turned his back when the commoner wolf growled. It was the sound of someone that threatened the other.

Rosina’s eyes widened when she saw the commoner wolf encircling Vinicio. Threatening him with his long bare teeth.

"The opponent wanted to fight as well, Lady Rosina. Give us the permission to dual at this moment," Vinicio said. His eyes were begging for Rosina to accept.

"Okay," Rosina stated and shrugged. She didn’t mind it since it would cut most of her time tomorrow. "You two gentlemen can fight anytime you want."

Vinicio bowed and looked at his opponent, waiting for him to initiate the attack. He put down his sword and started stripping his armor to reveal a thin shirt.

Vinicio shifted into his wolf. He whimpered for a bit due to the pain, but he returned to normal after a few seconds. This time he was more fierce and dominant.

"Let the duel... begin!" Ferro exclaimed as a signal to start.

Vinicio jumped toward the gray wolf and tried to bite his neck for an easy kill. The gray wolf kicked Vinicio’s jaw and saved himself from dying.

The two wolves started circling with snarls. Showed each other that they were more powerful than the another.
