Chapter 75: The Tailor’s Creation
Rosina was flipping all the papers to see the candidate of her liking, but it only gave her a headache. She leaned back on the sofa and stretched her body.
"You want help?" Draco’s voice was heard behind Rosina. He leaned closer and looked at the paper she was holding through her shoulder.
Rosina’s flinched and glanced at Draco, who was an inch closer to her. She didn’t feel that nervous about Draco, but now, her heartbeat was pumping faster than usual.
Draco went to the other seat in front of Rosina. He looked at her face down to her body. "You look well today."
Rosina sighed and put down the papers on the table, and focused her attention on Draco. "You can ask me anything."
"Hmm," Draco hummed and crossed his legs. The cheerful smile on her lips disappeared. "What was happening to you?"
"What do you mean?" Rosina asked and tilted her head in confusion since she wanted Draco to ask her a specific question instead.
"Do you have an illness? You lost consciousness multiple times, and last night— " Draco paused when he saw Rosina smirking at him.
"Speaking last night. What are you doing inside my room?" Rosina asked, curious as to why Draco was inside her room that late at night.
"Is it wrong to visit my fiancee’s room?" Draco playfully teased Rosina.
Rosina hummed and didn’t say a word. She didn’t like how their exchanges all questioned one another without answers.
Draco noticed that Rosina was slowly getting uninterested in talking to him. "Okay, fine. I’ll answer you first, but you need to answer my questions after."
Rosina nodded her head in agreement and waited for Draco to speak.
"I just came back from work when I heard your groaning sound from your room. I let into the window and saw you on the terrace. I did what most decent people do when they saw a struggling person and needed help," Draco sighed and shrugged since there was no malice in his actions.
"I see," Rosina muttered. Although she wanted to know what was Draco’s thoughts when he stayed beside her that night, she decided that she wouldn’t press further.
"Then you answer my question," Draco stated and crossed his arms over her chest. He was starting to get worried about what was happening to Rosina. Although he knew that Rosina was a strong she-wolf, he wasn’t confident that she could always be vital, especially if someone was involved in her failing health.
"Hmm," Rosina looked at her fingers. She wasn’t sure about what was happening to her. All she could tell was her dream, but she didn’t want to tell Draco about it when she didn’t know what it meant in the first place.
"Overfatigue," Rosina simply stated her answer nonchalantly.
Draco was looking at her with disbelief. He expected more than a simple word from her. "Are you sure that was the only cause?"
"Yes, since many things had happened," Rosina tilted her head and looked at Draco.
Draco pursed his lips. He didn’t expect Rosina to be overfatigued with those events that happened. ’Does she have low stamina?’ he thought.
"I see. You should rest well since the wedding is getting closer. I’ll prepare everything else, so just rest. The tailor will come here tomorrow to let you choose a ready-made white gown," Draco stated and stood up from his seat. "Then I’ll take my leave."
"Okay," Rosina replied and went back to scan the papers that contained the knight listing.
Draco glanced at her with a deep sigh before going out.
"This won’t do," Rosina threw the paper, scattering them on the floor. She was stressed about finding the right one to trust in her life. "Why do I even need a personal guard? I can protect myself just fine."
Rosina grumbled deeply when an idea appeared in her head. "Ferro!"
"Yes, Lady Rosina. You called for me?" Ferro appeared as soon as Rosina called his name.
"Yes, about the application for my personal guard. I want to meet them personally," Rosina stated firmly with no means of an argument.
Ferro what silent for a few minutes. It was customed that the husband of a royal she-wolf would be the one to choose her personal guard, but Draco wanted Rosina to decide for herself.
"When would you like to meet them, Lady Rosina?" Ferro stated and took out his notebook that contained all the plans.
"Tomorrow," Rosina answered nonchalantly. She didn’t want to waste more time lying around since the wedding was getting closer. Although it was only for the formality of the contract. The other people thought it was real.
"But the tailor was also coming tomorrow," Ferro stated and looked at the schedule for tomorrow, which was booked.
"I’ll meet the tailor in the morning and the applicants in the afternoon," Rosina stated and stood up. "Also, tell them to prepare a sword since they would be dueling one another in the Palace arena."
"Ye-yes, Lady Rosina," Ferro hurriedly listed the new schedule as Rosina walked away. She planned to take a nap.
The next day, the tailor arrived at 9:00 in the morning and took Rosina’s measurements to adjust the ready-made wedding gowns they had prepared in advance.
"Lady, you can choose from these dresses," the tailor stated and showed Rosina the rack that contained all the wedding gowns.
Rosina went forward and browsed, but they were all extravagant for a simple, private wedding. She turned to the tailor with a dull gaze. "Don’t you have anything simple?"
"Si-simple?" the tailor was confused. She picked the best-looking wedding gown for the next princess, but all of them weren’t her liking.
"Yes," Rosina answered and sat back on the sofa while waiting for the tailor.
Piera Piccio, the Tailor, was frantically searching in her bag for any different dresses she had brought with her. She found a paper bag inside, which contained a plain white gown that hugged the wearer’s figure. It was the new design she launched last two weeks, but it was unpopular and looked down on since the nobles wanted big gowns.
"Umm, I have one here, but— " Piera was hesitant to show the gown, but Rosina gestured for her to show it. She closed her eyes and showed the dress to Rosina.
Rosina was speechless when she saw the gown. She stood up and touched the fabric, which was soft and stretchable. "Do you have dresses with a similar structure to this one?"
"Ah, yes!" Piera took out her sketch notebook that contained the new designs of her dresses and gowns. "I recently created this— "
"This... This is beautiful!" Rosina exclaimed with stars twinkling in her eyes. "I want to take this one, but since this gown is sleeveless, can you put a lace to cover up my arms?"
"Ye-yes, Lady Rosina!" Piera exclaimed with shock. She didn’t expect that Rosina would like the design she created.
"That’s great. I want you to make me these clothes," Rosina stated and pointed at the sketchbook. "All of them."
"R-really?" Piera’s mouth hung open, and she tapped her cheeks to wake her to reality.
"Yes," Rosina stated and looked at the gown again. She wanted something that wasn’t heavy to wear and could freely move without the dress restricting her movement.
"I will do my best, Lady!" Piera exclaimed and bid Rosina goodbye since she wanted to start customizing the wedding dress she picked and stitched Rosina’s new wardrobe.
Rosina’s servant was looking at one another without saying a word. They didn’t want to question her choices.
"Ah, I need to meet the applicants," Rosina stood up and stretched her body. It took a bit of time talking with the tailor.
Rosina opened her closet to pick the dress she would wear in the area. She was thinking of wearing pants in case she wanted to fight.
"Umm, Lady Rosina?" Fina stated gently. She and Sal were peeking through the closet door.
"What is it?" Rosina stated without looking at them. She tried to distance herself from Fina since she started suspecting her weird actions several times.
"We found decent clothes from those bags," Fina pointed at the bags that contained the clothes Gastone bought for her.
"No," Rosina answered immediately without looking at the clothes since she knew they would be tacky and colorful.
"L-lady..." Sal’s timid voice was heard,
Rosina looked at her and saw she was holding a simple red gown that wasn’t in a full balloon. "Red..."
"Yes," Sal answered, trembling when Rosina walked toward her and stared at the gown.
’This gown looked fierce, especially the color,’ Rosina thought. She was still not convinced to wear that gown.
"Why do you think I should wear this one?" Rosina asked both of her servants.
"So that the knights won’t look down at you, Lady Rosina," Fina answered firmly, which surprised Rosina.
"Aren’t the knights supposed to protect their owner?" Rosina replied.
"Yes, but the knights were already looking down at you, Lady Rosina. I don’t want them to treat you like a weak she-wolf," Fina exclaimed with her eyes closed. She had overheard the applicant’s who applied for Rosina’s personal guard, and they mocked her for being weak.
