Chapter 69: The Blame of Justice

Chapter 69: The Blame of Justice

Rosina watched the riders position themselves at the starting line and looked at the man holding a red cloth. He was raising his arms before lowering them instantly.

The horses started galloping with their riders on top while looking at their competitors.

Everyone was screaming at the rider with a golden helmet. He was the first of five riders, but Rosina’s eyes were focused on the other rider.

The rider with a red helmet was last in line, but Rosina was confident about her picking.

"Lady, who did you pick?" Felissa leaned closer and whispered since the crowd was drowning her voice.

"The red one," Rosina stated and gestured toward the rider.

"The last one?" Felissa was baffled by Rosina’s choice, but she didn’t question it. She could see Rosina’s confident facial expression.

The last rider was far behind the first, but he didn’t give up hope. He synced with his horse and increased their speed. One by one, the red rider took taking the lead until he was behind the first rider.

They were competing for a little distance, and the end line was seen ahead. The watchers were screaming for the golden rider and trashed the red one.

"He won," Rosina commented when there was a one-meter distance left.

"Huh?" Felissa was confused; at the same time, the crowd groaned with annoyance.

The red rider won the race, which nobody had betted on him. Instead of celebrating his victory, the werewolves booed him.

Seeing this, Rosina stood up from her seat and started cheering the rider loud enough for the crowd to hear. When they saw Rosina cheering alone amidst the chaos, they were silent and started cheering.

"Lady, you’re the only one who had betted into that rider," the man who collected the bets went toward her and handed her the reward, which was a pouch full of money. It was pretty heavy, but Rosina didn’t mind it.

"Thank you," Rosina hummed happily while carrying the money in hand. The crowd started gossiping since Rosina had gathered their attention.

"Interesting. Why did you think that young man would win the race, Lady Rosina?" Queen Cinzia asked. She was curious about how Rosina’s mind functioned since she never once paid attention to the red rider.

"I just guessed among the participants, Your Majesty," Rosina stated gently, humbling herself. That was when she felt lousy energy directed toward her. She glanced at the source and saw Melania glaring at her for taking the spotlight.

The crowd focused their attention on the next batch of riders, but Rosina didn’t participate in the bet. She excused herself since her bladder was screaming for a release.

Rosina left her prized money to Felissa as she went down to find the restroom. Several servants directed her as well. When she entered the room, she immediately saw a woman with ash-blonde hair fixing her hair in the mirror.

Rosina went inside the empty stall and emptied herself before going out. The woman was still there and putting on red lipstick that looked like dried blood.

"That lipstick suited you," Rosina started the short conversation while washing her hands.

The lady raised an eyebrow, liking the compliment she received.

"Lady Rosina Greco, nice to meet you," the woman stated and offered a curtsy. "My name is Dona Siciliano, sister of Alpha Rodolfo Siciliano of the Bloodmoon pack."

"Nice to meet you, Lady Dona. I hope you’re having a great time here," Rosina curtsied and offered her best friendly smile.

"Yes, I am. The Sabrecrown had tons of handsome men lurking around," Dona stated with a giggle.

"Indeed," Rosina agreed and nodded. She dried her hands and looked at Dona. "Then I’ll excuse myself, Lady Dona."

"Oh! Let’s have tea sometimes, Lady Rosina," Dona giggled before they curtsied at one another.

When Rosina turned her back. The smile on her lips vanished and was replaced with a serious look. She wanted to know Draco’s plan and was itching to find him. She returned to her seat after the second batch had finished the race.

"Is it over?" Rosina whispered, but Felissa shook her head.

"I think there’s more; look," Felissa pointed at the racing field and saw Draco with his horse. He had a black helmet, while Gastone had a golden one.

"They were racing..." Rosina muttered and noticed the other noblemen participating as well. That also made Rosina confused. She leaned toward Felissa and whispered. "Do you have any gossip about the other royal children?"

"Hmm, of course I do," Felissa stated with pride in her voice and flipped her hair. "I’ll tell you later."

"Sure," Rosina couldn’t help but chuckle at Felissa’s manner. Somehow, she felt the two of them were starting to warm up without a thin barrier.

On the other side, Melania was getting pissed each time she saw Rosina smile or giggle. She wanted her to cry and become miserable rather than happy.

The noblemen positioned in their horses and watched the flag. It was a friendly competition between the nobles and royal members to strengthen their bond.

The commoners, especially women, started simping at the men. Their facial expression showed lust and passion to bed with them.

Rosina stared at Draco. She didn’t know that he would be participating in the race. Her eyes shifted below where Dona was sitting, and she was screaming for her brother.

Rosina’s eyes bulged, and she looked at the man with hair similar to Dona. "Oh, my goddess."

Felissa looked at Rosina with confusion, but the race started.

The crowd started cheering. They mainly shout the name Gastone, the Crown Prince, to support him.

Rosina was observing their performance and was convinced that Draco and his horse were far more compatible, but they were slowing down on purpose.

’What is he doing?’ Rosina thought with furrowed eyebrows. Then she realized Draco was behind Rodolfo. She pursed her lips and watched how Gastone won the race.

Everyone cheered, and Gastone acted in his role as the Crown Prince, taking the hearts of the nobles and commoners.

Rosina glanced at the Queen, who had a broad, proud smile as she clapped at Gastone’s victory. The King wasn’t present at the event, but no one questioned it.

Draco removed his helmet and shook the sweat on his hair. His eyes met Rosina, and he smirked. He went to greet several of his friends, but he never left Ronaldo’s side even though they didn’t talk.

Ronaldo was talking to Gastone while giving a nasty glare toward Draco at the back.

Rosina glanced at Dona, who was lusting toward Gastone. Her eyes were hazy, and she was breathing heavily, which made Rosina understand that she fancied Gastone.

It could also be why her brother Ronaldo supported Gastone in the crown war.

The participants started greeting the crowd to increase their support and popularity when a familiar face appeared.

Luigi was able to sneak from the barrier and walk in the middle of the racetrack. He stood in front of the Queen and the noble’s benches.

"My Queen!" Luigi screamed and kneeled on the ground. He was wearing a black robe that covered the scars he had received from Rosina.

"Who is that?" Queen Cinzia whispered since she didn’t recognize Luigi’s face. "Take that man away."

The royal guards nodded and approached Luigi, but before they could seize him. Luigi removed his cloak, showing everyone the scars he had attained.

"What are you doing!?" Queen Cinzia stood up and looked at the shocked crowd. The murmurs started getting louder, and the attention was shifted toward Luigi and the Queen. At this point, Queen Cinzia couldn’t dismiss Luigi, or her reputation would be tarnished.

"Your Majesty, the great Queen of the Werewolf realm. Please, help me seek the culprit behind this cruel act towards me," Luigi cried out and extended his arms for everyone to see the scars.

Rosina forced herself not to smile since she liked how the scars looked on Luigi’s body.

"Well then, have you remembered who did this to you, dear citizen?" Queen Cinzia’s voice was firm and gentle at the same time.

"Yes, I remembered her face, Your Majesty," Luigi stated and bowed down.

"Then tell me who?" Cinzia took a deep breath with her hands fisted together. It was not according to her plan to submerge the case 6 ft below the ground for everyone to forget.

Luigi’s body trembled as he looked at the crowd of nobles. His eyes gazed upon Rosina, whose breath hitched, but he passed her. He lifted his finger very slowly and pointed in a specific direction.

"L-lady Dona!?" Luigi screamed Dona’s name loudly, enough for everyone to hear.

Dona stood up in shock. She looked at the Queen to defend herself against the crime she didn’t commit. "Your Majesty, I have never done such cruelty to a man."

"I confess everything. L-lady Dona forced me to bed with her, but I have a family. She lured me into the forest when I rejected her offer and did this!" Luigi cried out and looked at everyone pitying him. "Your Majesty, please seek justice for your people!"
