Chapter 67: The Ash-Blonde Target

Chapter 67: The Ash-Blonde Target

Rosina looked at the woman beside her sleeping peacefully. A smile formed on her lips while gliding her hand into her soft strands.

The sunlight was slipping through the curtains and flickering into her eye, preventing her to go back to sleep.

Rosina slowly sat up and stretched her body. Seeing how Felissa snuggled beside her comfortably made her smile. She didn’t want her to wake up, so Rosina moved lightly to prevent any noise from escaping.

Rosina opened the door and went back to her room to get dressed and be ready for the day. As she was walking through the hall, Draco’s door opened.

"Oh, you’re awake so early," Draco commented and looked at Rosina’s figure from top to bottom while licking his lips.

Rosina was wearing a white satin nightgown that barely covered any skin. Initially, she didn’t want anyone to see her in that vulnerable form, especially since she was not in the mood for sex, but in front of Draco, she didn’t care.

"Yes, I don’t want lady Felissa to wake up because of me," Rosina replied and crossed her arms over her chest. "It’s rare to see you here, Darling Draco."

"I wanted to meet Lady Felissa, but it seems like you two had slept together," Draco raised an eyebrow with a meaningful and teasing look.

"No, it’s not like that," Rosina stated with a chuckle.

Their cheerful atmosphere turned serious when they looked into each other’s eyes. Draco coughed and looked behind Rosina.

"Your servant is here. Let’s talk later," Draco whispered before walking passed, Rosina. "Let’s eat breakfast together later."

"Okay," Rosina replied and looked at who the servant was there. "Fina, I believed, I didn’t call you, yet."

Fina bit her lips before curtsying in front of Rosina. "Good morning, and my apologies for arriving so early, Lady Rosina. I wanted to check on you regarding Lady Felissa’s breakfast of choice."

Rosina tilted her head to the side since the question was innocent but rather weird. "Tell the chef that he can cook anything."

"Yes, Lady Rosina. I will relay your words," Fina answered before turning around to leave.

Rosina looked at her retreating with a furrowed eyebrow, but since it was early in the morning, Rosina decided to shrug it off.

"Ah, my room," Rosina smiled and ran towards her bed and flopped her body on the soft mattress. She nuzzled her face while closing her eyes to enjoy the cool fabric under her skin.

After a minute, Rosina lifted her body since she needed to prepare. She was about to pull the string that connected to her servant’s room when she saw the cloak.

"It’s only 5:30 in the morning," Rosina muttered to herself since Fina had never disturbed her that early. Her usual morning routine was 7:00 AM going to 8:00.

"That’s weird," Rosina stated to herself and rubbed her eyes. She leaned back on the bed and decided to wait for her servant to arrive as she went back to dreamland.

Rosina felt that she only had a few seconds of a nap before a knock on the door echoed.

"Good morning, Lady Rosina," Sal muttered shyly and slowly entered the room when she saw Rosina waving at her.

The look of relief washed over Sal’s face as she curtsied. "I shall prepare your bath, Lady."

Rosina nodded and noticed that Sal was alone, which was the first time that happened since both she and Fina were a due that couldn’t be seen separated for long.

"Where’s Fina?" Rosina asked when she let Sal scrub her back.

"Oh, she was busy in the kitchen. She told me to assist you alone and she’ll come here when she was free, Lady Rosina," Sal stated softly while humming. She always liked bathing Rosina and touching her soft skin.

Rosina didn’t reply since she was thinking about what happened that day and Fina’s involvement.

’I should not think too deeply about this. She’s just a servant,’ Rosina thought before she leaned back and relaxed.

After a few minutes, Rosina was fully dressed and was ready to go downstairs. She went to the dining table and saw Draco and Felissa sitting.

"Ah, my darling. You have arrived," Draco stated when Rosina entered the room.

"Yes, darling. Lady Felissa, you’re awake so early," Rosina stated and sat on the chair across from Draco. The servants immediately served her food.

"Ah yes, your servant is so kind to wake me up and help me get dressed," Felissa stated innocently. Her face showed sincerity and delight.

"I see. Then enjoy your breakfast," Rosina didn’t press further since she didn’t remember asking a servant to assist Felissa since she planned to wake her up later.

"Do you have any activities on the day, darling?" Draco asked after drinking his coffee.

"I have not thought of anything yet," Rosina answered. She didn’t plan their activities yet since she was about to ask Felissa for that part.

"I see, then how about horse riding?" Draco suggested with a smirk.

"Oh, I love horses!" Felissa exclaimed with excitement as she looked at Rosina with wide eyes.

"The Queen had started a horse racing event and nobles and other high statuses can come," Draco explained and gestured to Ferro to give them the invitation.

Ferro slid the invitation beside Rosina and Felissa for them to take a look.

"It’s unexpected for the Queen to hold this event without further notice," Felissa muttered out of nowhere as she was reading the paper.

Rosina and Draco looked at each other before acting like nothing was wrong, but they knew that it was the Queen’s way to divert the crowd’s attention away from the case.

"And that event was held outside the palace grounds, which means that the commoners can watch on the sideline," Draco added and forced himself not to laugh.

Rosina looked down at her plate with a scoff of amusement. "It is a wonderful distraction to the busy and tired commoners to have a glimpsed of the royal event held by the Queen herself."

"Yes, indeed," Draco answered and finished his last slice of ham. "Well then, I’ll be off now."

Draco stood up from his seat after wiping his mouth. He went toward Rosina and kissed her head before heading out.

Felissa was biting her lip to prevent herself from squealing when she saw Draco’s sweet gesture. "Oh my, he’s charming!"

"I guess, he is," Rosina stated with a laugh. She knew that it was just an act to show that they were in love. "Let’s focus back on the event."

"Okay," Felissa answered and read the invitation.

Rosina saw that the event was held around 2:00 in the afternoon at the public racetrack. The nobles had their own stadium to sit under the sun, while the commoners were placed at the opposite end.

"We should prepare ourselves ahead of time, so we won’t be late," Rosina stated and finished her meal. She waited for Felissa before letting her go back to the guest room. She stayed for a while since she wanted to see who was the servant that served Felissa.

After a few minutes, a knock was heard at the door.

Rosina watched as Fina entered the room with a wide smile while greeting Felissa.

Fina’s eyes bulged with surprise when she saw Rosina inside the room. She curtsied and acted calm even though her heart was racing.

"Lady Rosina, I’m here to assist Lady Felissa’s need for today," Fina stated softly while keeping her head low.

"I see. Then I should leave you two alone," Rosina stated and bid goodbye to Felissa. She passed by Fina and looked at her with maniac eyes before going out of the door.

Rosina walked toward her room slowly while her mind was a mess with thoughts. She saw Draco’s door open and he was fully dressed.

"You seemed unwell," Draco stated while fixing his tie.

"I am fine," Rosina stepped forward and removed Draco’s hand, and fixed his tie herself.

Draco looked down at her and smelled her hair, which had a rose scent. "Later, the Queen invited a noblewoman with ash-blonde hair. She was the younger sister of Alpha Rodolfo Siciliano of BloodMoon pack," Draco whispered the information into her ears.

Rosina stopped moving and looked him in the eye. They were so close to one another that they could smell each others perfume. "Is she the target?"

"Hmm, she’s unmated and had a hobby of flirting around men she finds attractive either married or not," Draco further explained before taking a step back to create a certain distance between them.

That action was little, but Rosina noticed it.

"I wonder how can you involve a noble to a commoner," Rosina asked and thought deeply. "I still think that killing Luigi is the best option."

"Yes, but it would be a perfect opportunity to bring down an enemy," Draco stated with an evil smile as he started laughing. "For sure, she would get to know you as a new member of the royal family."

"Hmm," Rosina hummed and tilted her head to the side. "Then, can I kill her instead?"
