Chapter 64: The Blame Taker

The Queen and the man looked at one another with furrowed eyebrows as they looked at Rosina again.

"Well, that’s good to hear that you get back home safely," Cinzia stated, and her facial expression became serious. "Daling, two days ago, an incident happened that caused chaos in the peasant city."

Rosina acted dumbfounded and shocked. She held her chest and stared at Draco before looking back at the Queen. "Is everyone safe? What happened?"

The man next to the Queen cleared his throat to gather Rosina’s attention. "Lady Rosina, pardon my intrusion. I’m Nestore Cocci, head of the Sabrecrown’s Sentinel Department."

"Nice to meet you, Sir Nestore," Rosina greeted and slightly curtsied her upper body.

"I will give you the details of what happened," Nestore stated before taking out a piece of paper that contained Luigi’s drawing and the wounds he had.

"This man is Luigi Monaldo, one of the business owners of meat production here in the Sabrecrown pack. He’s a husband and father of three children. He’s a good man and has a pretty background, but there has been gossip surrounding his name. That he was attracted to tall women, and sometimes he would pursue them. It wasn’t proven until two days ago. He was tortured in the forest, and the word ’Cheater’ was engraved in his chest," Nestore dated and pointed out a drawing of Luigi’s body that had the engravement.

"Oh my, that’s horrible. Is he ok?" Rosina gasped and looked at the picture and acted like she couldn’t stare for too long at how gruesome it was.

"He is currently healing, but he’s fine. Although, this created family and marital problems—" Nestore couldn’t continue when the Queen stopped him.

"You’re straining away from the main issue," Cinzia muttered and sipped her tea.

"I apologize, Your Majesty," Nestore bowed his head out of respect. "Let’s get to the main topic."

"These actions don’t seem like an accident or an animal gnawed him. These wounds are intentional since the pattern and designs are exquisite. Made by someone who knew how to draw," Nestore further explained as Rosina kept nodding in understanding.

"I understand. It’s horrible. You should catch the one that’s behind the case!" Rosina exclaimed with worry and anxiousness on her face.

"Yes, since it could bring chaos to the pack and if the other packs knew that we couldn’t handle this situation. They’ll start mocking us, but what was worst is them planning to overthrow the Monarchy and conquer the pack," Nestore stated with uneasiness in his voice.

"That won’t happen. We are the strongest pack," Cinzia stated and aggressively put her cup on the table. "You will do your job as the head of Sentinels. You’re free to use the other department if you want since I wanted this to be solved."

"Yes, Your Majesty," Nestore said.

"Parden me, Your Majesty, Sir. I would like to ask what this case could associate to me— to us?" Rosina gestured toward Draco, who remained silent in his seat.

"You will be the plan b," Cinzia stated and smiled widely at Rosina.

Rosina could sense the dark aura radiating off from Draco. His face showed that he wasn’t liking the idea of the Queen, using Rosina.

"What might that be, Your Majesty," Rosina asked and observed the Queen’s body language.

"Sir Nestore already explained the cause of what this pack will experience once this case is left unsolved. The plan b will be you, pointing out who was the culprit," Cinzia stated, and she glared at Draco.

"But I don’t know who is the culprit," Rosina was dumbfounded, but she already knew the Queen’s intentions of using an innocent person to blame.

"Then we will make one," Cinzia stated and looked directly at Rosina’s eyes. She wasn’t taking ’no’ as an answer.

Rosina pursed her lips when she heard what the Queen stated. "Your majesty, I don’t want to blame an innocent wolf."

"I didn’t say that the wolf will be innocent. We can always take one criminal and blame it on her. We have many prisoners down in the dungeon," Cinzia stated and offered Rosina a cookie. "All you need to do is to tell the public that you were shopping in the city when you saw this woman trailing Luigi. Then the case will be closed since nobody will question the words that come from the mouth of a royal member."

Everyone looked at Rosina, waiting for her decision.

"I would like to ask my fiance about this, Your Majesty," Rosina stated and looked at Draco.

"Sure, I will give you two days to decide. You should remember that you will be a future princess and part of the royal family. We should stick together for our pack’s sake," Cinzia stated softly before gesturing for Rosina and Draco to leave the room.

"Thank you, Your Majesty," Rosina curtsied before going out of the room with Draco behind her. The two of them were silent as they walked along the hallway to the carriage.

"You never spoke back there," Rosina commented, wanting to know why Draco was silent.

"The Queen forbid me to speak. Allowing you to blurt out words without my backup, and I don’t want to press further since she might suspect us," Draco explained and leaned back while staring at the ceiling.

"Do you have any plans?" Rosina asked while she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Yes, I do, and of course, you will have to play a role. After all, you were the culprit behind this issue," Draco smirked, while Rosina smiled evilly at his sentence.

"I didn’t expect that this case will blow up," Rosina shrugged. She didn’t care much about the result since she could always get away with it.

"And I don’t mind it either. I am more delighted that this happened," Draco leaned forward while laughing evilly.

Rosina squinted her eyes. She got a hint of what Draco was thinking. "Do you have someone in mind that we will put this blame onto?"

"Yes. I will take care of the plan and how this whole case will be played. All you needed to do was to tell whom. After all, your acting skills are excellent," Draco complimented and started clapping.

"Well, thank you. It took me years to perfect this kind of demure," Rosina felt proud that her hardships had bared fruit.

"That’s great! Keep improving. We should work on our culprit in the next two days before going back to the Queen," Draco caressed his chin which had a few stumbles while in deep in thought.

"Well, you work on your plans. Lady Felissa will arrive tomorrow, and she might stay here for a while before going back to her pack," Rosina explained so that Draco wouldn’t be surprised that Felissa was in the residence.

"I see. Then enjoy your time, before the bomb will explode," Draco chuckled, and it didn’t take long before they arrived at the residence.

Rosina stepped down whiled Draco remained inside. "Where are you going?"

"To start the plan," Draco stated with a smirk and waved at Rosina goodbye.

Rosina didn’t ask further and let Draco do his thing. "Draco, be safe."

"I will," Draco smiled at her before the carriage moved away.

Rosina stood outside the resident door while looking at the carriage driving away from her. She sighed deeply before moving inside and walking toward her room.

"What a day," Rosina groaned and massaged her scalp. "I wonder what will Draco do."

At that moment, Rosina felt her body getting hotter. A feeling that could only be meant one thing.

"I’m h0rny," Rosina whispered while rolling into her bed. "But I can’t go out when the situation is like this."

"I should have killed that man," Rosina regretted her decision to let Luigi live with shame. As the result, the Queen had to take action to save the Sabrecrown’s face from humiliation from other packs.

"I wonder how many innocent wolves had fallen into the Queen’s scheme," Rosina thought about what the Queen stated earlier. That there were many prisoners inside the dungeon. "Did they even commit a crime or just simply took the blame?"

Rosina grimaced before patting her cheeks to stop herself from thinking about the case. "I should focus on Felissa’s arrival."

Rosina sat up and removed her clothing. She called Fina and Sal to go into her room as they needed to discuss and prepare everything.

"You called for us, Lady," Fina curtsied and stood in front of Rosina, along with Sal.

"Lady Felissa Nucci will be arriving tomorrow. Please prepare her lounging and tell the chef to cook delicacies for her stay," Rosina stated while her servants nodded in understanding.

"Yes, Lady. Is there something you need?" Fina asked while scribbling on her tiny notebook to remember everything that Rosina asked her to do, while Sal was only staring at what she was writing.

"Ah, yes. Bring me a fresh cucumber. Don’t cut it and just bring me the whole plant. Oh, and a knife for me to peel," Rosina stated and tried her best to act innocent.

"We can let the chef peel the cucumber for you, Lady. To avoid any possible injury—" Sal stated, but she was nudged by Fina.

"I’ll deliver the cucumber right away, Lady Rosina," Fina stated and curtsied hurriedly before going out of the room.
