Chapter 63: The Queen’s Call

Chapter 63: The Queen’s Call

Rosina was pacing back and forth inside her room. She was analyzing what she had known about Draco and the Queen. "What more could possibly there be? I’m getting excited!"

Rosina was getting excited. Her life has been boring inside the Palace, which could also make her forget her problems. It has been two days since the incident with Luigi. The Sentinels had already reported to the Monarch, but they haven’t heard anything about the issue yet.

As for Draco, he had gone back to Palace, but Rosina was also curious about what he was doing there.

Rosina lay on the bed with a huge sigh. She was about to fall asleep when a knock echoed on her door, and Fina entered with a tray that contained a letter.

"Lady, I have received a letter from a Midnight pack," Fina stated softly and went beside Rosina’s bed.

Rosina’s sleepiness vanished when she heard what Fina had stated. She immediately sat up and took the letter from the tray. "Thank you, Fina."

Rosina was about to open the letter when she noticed that Fina was still inside her room. She put the letter on her side before facing Fina with a smile. "This there something else you want to tell me?"

"I have been thinking about this for the past few days. After we left to go to the city, I would like to ask what happened at the time if you don’t mind, Lady Rosina," Fina stated shyly while fidgeting at her clothes.

Rosina raised her eyebrows at Fina’s statement. She looked at her and acted clueless. "What do you mean?"

Fina’s facial expression looked troubled, and it was evident that she was trying to regain her memory of that day, but no matter what she did, her memories were blurry.

Rosina what also trying to see how much Fina remembered and forgot. She was waiting for Fina to speak, but in the end, she shook her head and curtsied to leave.

"Did I tell you to leave?" Rosina said and crossed her arms. She wouldn’t let her get away, knowing she might recall what happened, primarily since her powers might be known.

Fina stopped her tracks and faced Rosina.

"Tell me, what did you remember?" Rosina asked and looked at Fina seriously.

"L-lady, all I remember was we were in the restaurant to eat, and after that, everything became blurry. The next thing I knew, I was back in the Palace," Fina muttered softly.

"And?" Rosina crest further.

"I was worried that I might have a mental sickness that leads me to forget about what happened on a specific day, Lady Rosina," Fina’s face distorted, and she was on the verged of crying.

"I see," Rosina pursed her lips as she watched Fina struggle to contain herself.

Rosina stared at Fina for a few seconds before she decided to create new memories for her since she didn’t want to create fake stories that might complicate the future.

Rosina left eye glowed in bright green color and rewrote Fina’s memories that she fell asleep in the carriage. That would be the reason for her blurry memories.

When Fina left her room. Rosina opened the letter to see what Felissa had written for her. She took her time reading each sentence, and at the end, Rosina squealed with happiness.

"Ah, Felissa accepted, and she’ll visit tomorrow!" Rosina explained and laid back on her bed with the letter in hand.

Rosina what delighted that she would meet Felissa, but other than that, she had different intentions. Knowing that the Queen was not Draco’s real mother, she wanted to know the history of the Monarch’s internal affairs.

"If the Queen was still after Draco’s life. Does that mean I will be involved since I will be his future wife?" Rosina blinked multiple times as she tried to sink the information inside her head.

Realization hit Rosiina. "This will be war."

Rosina’s hand went toward her left eye and glided her fingers at her skin. "I wonder what role I will take?"

Everyone knew life inside the Palace differed from the Alpha and Luna’s pack. Rosina never thought that she would be jumping into the water-filled bloodshed.

Now, she could understand a bit how Draco’s attitude had become. He adjusted to the lifestyle of survival and the trust issues he had with the people around him, which made Rosina wonder if Draco trusted her.

"It’s fine. I will suck everything up for a year. After that, I will be free from this mess."

Rosina yawned and planned to nap, but a knock was heard again from her door after a few seconds. "What is it?"

Rosina groaned since she had thought it was Fina again, but to her surprise, Ferro’s voice was heard outside. Every time Ferro was involved, it could only mean one thing— it was an important matter.

Rosina opened the door, and Ferro was waiting for her. His facial expression showed worry and concern.

"Lady, I received a message from the Palace. The Monarch requests your presence along with His Highness, Prince Draco," Ferro informed after he bowed.

"Where is Draco?" Rosina asked and glanced at his room. His scent was faint and barely noticeable.

"His Highness was already in the Palace. He was held there while waiting for you," Ferro answered and gestured Rosina to follow him.

Rosina was about to go when she looked at what she was wearing. "Wait, let me get change into something decent since I will be facing the Monarch."

Ferro’s eyebrow furrowed since Rosina was already fully dressed in a dark brown gown. He nodded his head since he couldn’t force her to go.

Rosina sprinted toward her closet and found the most innocent-looking clothes when her eyes darted toward the apparel that Gastone had bought for her. It was untouched in the corner.

"This is perfect," Rosina took the clothes and forced herself to wear the most hideous and child-looking gown. It was a baby pink color with tiny ribbons on the bottom and a huge one on her back.

Rosina went out of her room, and Ferro’s eyes widened when he saw her but didn’t say anything.

Ferro assisted Rosina toward the carriage as she traveled alone to the Palace. Her heartbeat was racing, and she wondered if Draco had plans to avoid the suspicion from the Monarch.

Rosina didn’t care if her identity would be known since she would just kill them to save herself, but what she was worried about was Draco. She didn’t like it when someone would be involved in her own mess.

When she was getting closer to the palace entrance. She saw multiple carriages outside with a name engraved on the door.

"Sentinels," Rosina muttered before she braced herself and twitched her muscles to warm them up. It has been a while since she used a fake persona in front of people. "I got too comfortable in Draco’s residence that my muscles are forgetting how to act harmless."

"We are here, Lady Rosina," the coachman stated while opening the door.

Rosina thanked the coachman before she walked to the entrance door. The Palace butler greeted her before guiding her toward the private room.

Walking inside, Rosina saw Draco sitting on the opposite chair while on the other side was the Queen and a man dressed in a dark blue suit.

"Darling. Finally, you are here," Cinzia Violante, the Queen gestured to Rosina to sit beside Draco.

"Your majesty," Rosina curtsied before sitting next to Draco. She made sure that the space between her and Draco was closer to show that both of them were comfortable with one another.

"You must be wondering why I called you here. Don’t worry. You’ll be safe as long as you answer our questions," Cinzia stated before putting down her cup of tea.

"What might be your question, Your Majesty? I will try my best to answer them," Rosina stated softly, and her face showed sincerity.

"Well, two days ago, it was reported that you and your servant have gotten out of the Palace and went to the peasant’s city, but when the carriage arrived back, only your two servants were inside. My question is, where did you go at that time?"

Rosina tried her best to calm down. Her face and gestures became different from her usual attitude. "My dear servant was not feeling well at that time. So I sent her back to the Palace while I stayed behind. I’d like to apologize for my behavior since it was inappropriate for me to go alone, but I missed being outside so much that I couldn’t help to explore this wonderful city."

Rosina looked down and started fidgeting at her fingers with a pout. She showed guilt and fear in her eyes. "Your Majesty, please don’t punish my servants. They had done nothing wrong."

Cinzia raised her eyebrow when she saw Rosina tearing up to defend her servants. It wasn’t their original intention, but they were surprised at what Rosina stated about herself.
