Chapter 52: The ’What the F*ck’ Moment with Gastone

Rosina stood in her spot with emotionless eyes. She looked at the stack of clothes in the employee’s hand as Gastone kept choosing attire for her even though it was not her ideal type of clothing.

"Your Highness, I think that’s enough. I already have a bunch of clothes back in residence," Rosina stated awkwardly while trying to be nice about her rejection.

Gastone looked at her for a few seconds without blinking. As if he was confused about Rosina’s refusal of his generosity.

"You don’t like these dresses? We could find another shop of your taste, Lady," Gastone stated and tilted his head to the side. He was about to abandon all his chosen clothes, but Rosina stopped him.

"I-it’s fine, those dresses are pretty, but I already have many clothes in my closet. I won’t be able to wear them all," Rosina stated carefully, so she wouldn’t embarrass Gastone to the public. "I appreciate your generosity, Your Highness."

Gastone didn’t say a word. He only smiled and asked the employees to pack all the clothes he had picked. Multiple bags were placed on the floor that contained her clothes, and he even asked his guards to carry them toward the carriage trunk.

Rosina thought it would be over. The urge to flop into her bed increased over time as she wanted to go home and be done. She had always hated shopping.

But Gastone dragged Rosina to the jewelry store and let her choose whatever she wanted, but the dazzling jewels didn’t attract her.

’Is this Gastone’s way of getting my favor and attention?’ Rosina thought as she glanced at Gastone, who was looking at the box full of glistening rings.

Rosina sighed deeply and walked toward the glass counter that contained the jewels. Since she couldn’t further reject Gastone, she would choose something she actually liked.

"Lady Rosina, this rose pendant suit you very well," Gastone stated and showed her a pink rose pendant. It was pretty, but it wasn’t the one she actually wanted.

"It looks elegant, Your Highness, but is it possible that I choose what I actually liked," Rosina stated softly and brought out her best smile.

Gastone furrowed his eyebrows and looked confused at Rosina’s sudden request. "You don’t like what I picked?"

"I liked them," Rosina answered.

"Then why did you still want to choose your own when you liked what I picked for you?" Gastone stated and crossed his arms. He was confused at how Rosina rejected the items he selected for her since he knew what suited her better. He was offended whenever Rosina tried to stop him from choosing what was best for her.

Rosina was speechless. She looked at Gastone and had the urge to ask if he was a completely sane person. Her eyes glanced around the employees, waiting for them to select and purchase an item. Rosina didn’t want to embarassed Gastone even though she didn’t care if she did, but she had thought about Draco and their contract agreement.

"Then I will choose what you had picked for me," Rosina sucked it all up and agreed with him.

Gastone’s smile grew wider as he gestured for the employee to pack up the necklace. "I knew you would say yes. I know what’s better for you anyway."

’What the f*ck?’ this was what Rosina had thought when she heard what Gastone had stated. She never expected that he would have that kind of attitude.

Rosina bit her lips to avoid snapping at Gastone. She could never imagine herself staying with that kind of controlling man her whole life. She would either kill herself or kill him to escape the misery, but she would likely choose the latter.

After a few minutes, the jewelry was packed nicely, and Gastone gestured for her to come with him to the carriage.

’Please, end this!’ Rosina was screaming in her thoughts while trying her best to smile and not break Gastone’s neck.

"Let me help you, Lady Rosina," Gastone stated and extended his hand for Rosina to take, which she did out of respect. "Did you enjoy our date?"

Rosina stared at him with wide, questioning eyes. "Date? What date, Your Highness?"

"A date between a man and a woman. Everyone does it," Gastone answered and looked at Rosina as if she was dumb for not knowing what ’date’ was.

"Ah, uh... I enjoyed our time together," Rosina bit her tongue and looked outside the window to avoid Gastone’s stares. She wanted to laugh loudly at what she had learned about Gastone’s terms.

’We didn’t even go eat some food, and he called this shopping spree a date!?’ Rosina thought while closing her eyes to calm herself and regulate her heartbeat if Gastone decided to listen to her beats.

"That’s great! Then we will do this next time. I know several high-class shops that sell elegant shoes that would be good for your innocent looks," Gastone stated with a broad smile as he continued blabbering about the other shops he knew, while Rosina stayed silent.

’Is he dumb?’ Rosina thought and tried her best to suppress her laughter, especially when Gastone called her innocent. ’I guess my acting skills improved a lot.’

While they spent inside the carriage, Gastone kept talking about material things that would best suit Rosina without asking what she wanted or disliked.

Rosina felt her lips numbed from faking a smile the entire time. She nearly kissed the Palace walls when they arrived. Gastone brought her back to Draco’s residence.

"Our time has been short, but don’t be saddened. I will make sure to visit you from time to time," Gastone said and helped Rosina down the stairs.

Rosina couldn’t hold it back any longer. Sensing that she would be dealing with Gastone again made her so tired.

"Your Highness, I appreciate your thoughts of spending time with me, but I don’t want to disturb your busy schedules," Rosina stated softly for Gastone to understand, but it was the opposite.

"Are you rejecting my good actions, Lady Rosina?" Gastone questioned with his eyebrows crunched together.

"I only want the best for this realm’s Crown Prince, and I don’t want to be in your way for greatness," Rosina lowered her head and curtsied to end their conversation. Although, she was really itching to say that she didn’t want to be with him. She had thought it would be entertaining, but it was not.

Rosina was about to enter the residence, but Gastone held her arm back tightly and pulled her closer.

"I will revisit you, and I don’t take no for an answer," Gastone whispered to her ears while adding pressure to his hold against her arm.

Rosina’s body started shivering, not in fear but in anger. She was pissed that Gastone was treating her like a doll that couldn’t say ’no’ to his every word. She was about to open her mouth to speak when she smelled Draco’s scent.

"Can’t you understand the Lady, Gastone? She didn’t want to hang out with you again," Draco stated while walking down the stairs and went beside Rosina, pulling her away from Gastone’s grasp.

Gastone didn’t let go of Rosina’s arms as he and Draco had a staring contest. Their dominance was strongly radiating out of their body, suffocating Rosina between them.

’Ohoo, interesting,’ Rosina thought while looking back at the brothers fighting for her. She felt she belonged in a novel about two men fighting for her hand, but the reality was sh*tty.

"I suggest you let go of my fiancee’s arm," Draco stated firmly with a growl. His eyes were flicking back and forth from wolf to human form.

"What if I won’t?" Gastone replied and growled back.

Rosina had enough of them and wanted to sleep as soon as possible. "Okay, that’s enough," she stepped back and removed both of their arms attached to her.

"If you excuse me, Your Highnesses, I will go to bed and rest," Rosina curtsied before rushing inside the residence, leaving the two men alone. She didn’t care if they fought or killed one another.

Fina and Sal, who were looking at what was happening through the window, rushed toward Rosina and followed her back into her room.

Rosina let them and flopped into her bed when she heard a loud squeal. She turned her head and saw Sal squeaking like a mouse. "What’s the matter?"

"Lady Rosina, the two Princes, are fighting for your hand," Sal squealed and wriggled her body like a worm placed in a jar of salt.

"Ugh!" Rosina groaned and buried her face in the pillow.

"Sal, let’s go. Lady Rosina will take her rest," Fina whispered and dragged Sal out of the room.

Rosina thought she could finally have some peace and was getting closer to sleep when a knock was heard.

"Rosina?" Draco’s voice echoed, and the door opened. His scent engulfed the room instantly.

"I can’t reject his invitation even if I wanted to," Rosina stated before Draco could ask any questions since she knew he was there to ask her what had happened.
