Chapter 486: The Longing

Gastone allowed the water to cascade over him while he stared into space. He didn’t know what to feel as he saw his mate looking like a wet chicken.

"Ugh!" Gastone lightly struck the wall, his frustration simmering beneath the surface. He wanted to comfort Lucia, but his thoughts were surrounded by the idea that she might be dating Daniel.

"F^ck this!" Gastone clenched his teeth as he finished his shower. He went out after he was done and saw Lucia laying on the sofa.

Gastone went before Lucia and checked her temperature as he didn’t want her to get sick again. "Lucia, you need to take a bath," he whispered softly, rousing her from sleep.

Lucia fluttered her eyelids and stared at Gastone’s face. They looked at each other for a couple minutes before shyly concealing her face with a towel.

"I’m sorry," Lucia mumbled apologetically.

"Sorry for what?" Damon questioned, perplexed. He couldn’t recall anything for which Lucia needed to apologize.

Lucia sat upright, securing the towel tightly around her. "I’m sorry for making a mess in your apartment," she said, surveying the damp spots that were gradually drying.

"Don’t worry about it," Gastone responded with a sigh. "I’ll get the bed ready for you while you shower."

Gastone rose to leave, but Lucia instinctively reached out, grabbing his hand to halt his departure.

"W-wait!" Lucia blurted out, surprising herself with the spontaneous action.

Gastone stopped, deliberately avoiding eye contact with Lucia, aware that looking at her might lead to a profound kiss.

"C-can you... stay nearby?" Lucia mumbled bashfully. Despite the strain on her pride, she voiced the request, reluctant to let Gastone out of her sight for long.

"I won’t leave this room. I promise," Gastone assured gently.

Lucia smiled, slowly withdrawing her hand from Gastone’s arm. "T-thank you."

Gastone didn’t say a word before getting into the cabinet and took another fresh towel for Lucia to use. "Here," he said, offering it to her.

"Thank you," Lucia replied softly as she made her way to the bathroom. Sensing Gastone trailing behind her brought a sense of relief.

Gastone waited until Lucia entered the bathroom before returning to his bedroom, which was in disarray. "Oh, goodness," he sighed, rubbing his face in response to the stress he was currently feeling.

Gastone’s room wasn’t tidy, unlike his living room, as he didn’t sleep in there frequently; he just tossed his stuff around and let it sit there for days. Sorting through the clutter, he gathered both dirty and clean clothes from the floor and threw them into the nearby basket.

"I think this is acceptable," Gastone commented, surveying his room. It was finally in order, though not spotless. His gaze shifted to the bedsheets, and he immediately facepalmed. "They’re dirty!"

Gastone swiftly changed the bedsheets and covers before Lucia emerged from the bathroom. His ears were tuned in to the door opening, eagerly awaiting Lucia’s presence. It didn’t take long before that moment arrived.

As Lucia completed her shower, she headed straight to the bedroom where Gastone was working. "I-I’m done," she muttered shyly, clutching the towel tightly around her body.

At the same time, Gastone’s body shivered in delight as he caught a whiff of Lucia’s scent after a long time. His eyes shifted between black and electric-blue as his wolf instincts wrestled for control over his human form.

"Is everything alright?" Lucia asked upon seeing Gastone kept ignoring her. She became concerned that she might have upset him, so she cautiously approached. "Gastone..."

"Lucia, don’t take another step toward me," Gastone declared sternly, releasing a low growl. He tried his best to control himself, even though he wanted her so bad right there.

Lucia came to a stop, her hurt plainly visible on her face. "I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to offend you—"

Before Lucia could finish her words, Gastone turned around and kissed her lips with an intensity akin to a starving beast that hadn’t eaten for months.

Gastone seized Lucia’s dampened hair, drawing it back for better access to her lips as he kissed her fervently. His hormones surged with the intoxicating scent of Lucia, and every point of contact with her skin seemed to ignite his senses.

"Mhmm," Lucia was caught off guard, causing her to freeze in place. Her eyes widened as she witnessed Gastone kissing her. Initially, her mouth stayed closed, but she couldn’t deny the intense emotions swelling up within her.

Lucia gradually melted into Gastone’s body, her knees giving way. Gastone promptly secured her waist tightly, bearing the full weight of her.

"Ah~" Lucia moaned, clinging to Gastone’s shoulder for support. She pulled herself up, opening her mouth as she deepened the kiss.

Gastone’s eyes widened at Lucia’s response. He took it as permission to go further as he succumbed to the pleasure and desire he was currently feeling.

"Lucia~" Gastone gasped her name, seizing her thighs and lifting her without breaking the kiss. However, Lucia pulled back.

"Oh my!" Lucia murmured, feeling overwhelmed by the intense emotions coursing through her at that moment. She tenderly caressed Gastone’s face, gazing into his eyes that continued to shift. "Your eyes..."

"It’s because of you," Gastone replied with affection. He moved toward the bed, his eyes fixed on Lucia’s towel wrapped around her chest. "You’re so beautiful, Lucia."

Lucia’s cheeks flushed a deep pink upon hearing the compliment. "T-thank you," she replied softly.

Gastone gently placed Lucia on the bed, hovering above her. "You don’t know how much I’ve longed for this day. With you in my arms, savoring that intoxicating scent of yours. I’ve missed you so much," he whispered, punctuating his words with a low growl.

"Oh..." Lucia hadn’t anticipated those words from Gastone. The genuine sincerity in his tone warmed her chest, causing her heart to race.

Gastone’s eyes bore into Lucia’s, filled with a mix of longing and passion. He cupped her face gently, his touch sending shivers down her spine. "I want you, Lucia," he whispered adoringly.
