Chapter 472: The Unexpected Dinner

Lucia pulled Joseph into an alley where there were less people around. She pushed him against the walls and put both hands on either side of his body.

"Listen carefully, Joseph," Lucia glared at him and made sure they made eye contact.

"Okay, you’re freaking me out right now," Joseph frowned and tried his best to maintain a certain distance between them.

"Well, I am getting interested in the Turizer farm. Do you know anything about them?" Lucia asked while squinting her eyes, intently watching if Joseph would lie in her face.

"The Turizer farm? Why are you interested to know about them?" Joseph raised an eyebrow. He crossed his arms and waited for Lucia’s reply before saying anything.

"I have my own reasons, and you don’t need to know them," Lucia replied sternly. All she wanted was for Joseph to spill everything without her giving information.

Joseph’s chin hardened. He sighed, slightly pushed Lucia, and got away from her cage. "The Turizer Farm is a tycoon business in the city. Whatever your reason is, I can’t say anything as it might do you more harm than good," he replied.

Joseph’s answer made Lucia’s eyes widen. "That means you know something!?" she exclaimed in surprise.

"Not really, but we do export meat products to them for their restaurant. It really confused me since they have their own farm but can’t produce enough resources," Joseph stated while thinking deeply about it, but he shrugged it off.

Lucia’s mouth hung open. She put the pieces together, and the result made her shiver.

"If they need to hire a hunter for meat... That means the farm isn’t doing its original purpose but something else," Lucia muttered to herself. She felt closer to her plan and just needed a few more steps.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about, but the restaurant is popular. So it won’t be a surprise if their farm can’t keep up with the demand," Joseph argued, as he didn’t think of anything wrong with the Turizer. After all, their family name, ’Nutri’ was known in the business world.

Lucia pursed her lips. She knew Joseph wouldn’t understand, and it would only complicate things further if she forced him to tell her everything.

"But I’m curious. Why are you interested in them?" Joseph asked, referring to the Turizer farm.

"They are the biggest farm. Of course, everyone will be interested in knowing them," Lucia replied with a shrug. She turned to the side and watched the passersby.

"Understandable. They are rich, after all," Joseph replied while rubbing his chin. He didn’t think ill of Lucia, but he would understand if her interest was in the family’s wealth.

Lucia flinched and glared at Joseph. She wanted to argue that she wasn’t the type of woman who was into money, but that would even make her suspicious about her interest. Instead, Joseph gave her an idea for a cover-up.

"Well, I’m a woman. Of course, I need a man that can give me a good life. I heard the son is single, so I’m trying to give it a shot," Lucia grinned and winked at Joseph. She expected him to give her a disgusted look, but he showed a saddened expression instead.

"Is there something wrong?" Lucia asked in concern.

"It’s nothing. So this is why you want to know about the Turizer Farm? It’s good to have enough knowledge of someone’s background to attract them and have something to converse," Joseph stated softly. His voice had a hint of sorrow, but he tried to keep it cool.

"I know; that’s why I need information, and you’re going to help me," Lucia stated sternly and pointed at Joseph’s face.

Joseph scoffed and swatted Lucia’s finger in annoyance. "Why will I do that? I have a lot of work to do," he replied and walked away from the alley to the streets.

"Wait! You said you’re free today!" Lucia shouted, but Joseph ignored her while waving goodbye.

"Tsk!" Joseph flicked his tongue in irritation. He saw Lucia in a new light, and he had never expected her to be a gold digger in his eyes. That thought made him pissed.

On the other hand, Lucia stared at Joseph’s disappearing figure in the crowd. She didn’t follow him since she disliked forcing people.

"Well, I guess I have to do this on my own again," Lucia stated while shaking her head. She went on the opposite way and forgot her encounter with Joseph as she was satisfied with the bit of information he gave.

Lucia began traveling to the other newspaper outlets and sellers around the city. She had spent some money to roam around as her feet ached from walking too much.

Lucia bought the ones that contained even the most minor articles about the Turizer Farm and the Nutri family.

After a couple of hours, Lucia went back to her flower shop, but to her surprise, there was a fancy car waiting for her outside.

Lucia went down from the carriage she was riding and was hesitant to enter the shop.

The door opened, and Daniel’s bright face was seen. He waved at Lucia excitedly without waiting for the butler to assist him.

"Good evening, Miss Lucia," Daniel greeted, took Lucia’s hand and kissed her knuckle. He approached her first without waiting for her to settle closer to the shop.

"Good evening to you too, Sir Daniel. Do you need something from me?" Lucia asked with her mouth twitching. She hid the bag of newspapers behind her, but Daniel saw them.

"Nothing; I had some free time today and thought about asking you for dinner," Daniel replied and gave a sweet smile.

Lucia was stunned. She didn’t think Daniel would come earlier than the expected date. "It’s not Saturday, Sir Daniel," she stated to inform him in case he had forgotten.

"Yes, but that would be our date. This is just a dinner meeting between us," Daniel said delightfully. He thought of that plan when he couldn’t stay still at the idea of meeting Lucia again.

Lucia frowned and smiled forcefully. She found Daniel’s reasoning so absurd, but she didn’t want to reject the opportunity to get close.
