Alpha's Bite Between My Legs -
Chapter 462: The Search for Her
Chapter 462: The Search for Her
Gastone walked toward the clearing where he had last seen Lucia. He sighed and looked around him, remembering the place.
"My Lord, why don’t you leave in the morning?" Jorge said. He was worried that Gastone would find it hard since it was night.
"There are many eyes when the sun is lit," Gastone replied. He smiled and patted Jorge on the shoulder.
"Don’t worry about me. Focus on yourself and the decisions you need to make," Gastone encouraged. He knew Jorge would have difficulty since it involved his friend and mate.
"I will try..." Jorge paused and sighed deeply. He didn’t know what to do at the moment and would like to be left alone for a while.
Gastone smiled. He grabbed his bags and went deeper into the forest. His figure slowly blended into the darkness as he licked the rose pendant and opened the portal. He went through it immediately without wasting time.
"I wish you all the best, Lord Gastone," Jorge bowed his head in respect until he could no longer smell Gastone’s scent. He breathed deeply and looked at the moon.
"Moon Goddess. Is she really for me?" Jorge whispered in pain. He still couldn’t accept Megan’s work.
Other than that, Navin was in his room with his arms wrapped in a tight rope.
On the other hand, Gastone emerged from the forest. He pursed his lips and slowly walked toward the road as if nothing had happened in the first place. He placed a hat and wore a black coat as if he was some sort of businessman.
He walked toward the city and was greeted with colorful lights. The noise and busy streets made him take a deep breath. He still liked the peaceful atmosphere in the Werewolf realm but got used to it.
Gastone hired a carriage and arrived at his room in an average-looking building. He was greeted by the staff at the front before he went upstairs.
Aside from the accumulated dust at the corners, the room still looked the same as the day he left.
"Ah, I still can’t believe Rosina used to live here," Gastone whispered before sitting on the bed.
After leaving the house, Gastone viewed the room as tiny and suffocating. He spent another hour cleaning and rested for the night.
The next morning, Gastone began strolling the town and bought a couple of newspapers to get the latest news of what was happening in the city.
Gastone sat outside the coffee shop, peacefully drinking his cup of hot chocolate. He crossed his legs and nearly spit his first sip after reading the highlight on the front page.
"A wolf!?" Gastone exclaimed and immediately read its content. "That’s impossible here in this world... Maybe it’s just a regular wolf," he whispered.
"That’s not a regular wolf," a man spoke on the other table.
"Excuse me?" Gastone raised an eyebrow. He turned his attention to the man drinking a cup of black coffee.
The man looked old, and his appearance was rough due to the amount of leather he had and a satchel on the side.
"Apologize for interrupting, Sir. I am Frank, a hunter. That beast was no mere a normal wolf," Frank explained and sighed, shaking his head.
After Gastone heard Frank was a hunter. His interest peaked. "Can you explain to me what this is?" he asked.
"Are you also new to the city?" Frank asked after finishing his coffee.
"No," Gastone replied shortly. He didn’t want to give out much information about himself.
"Ah, you’re one of those guys. Well, let me tell you, as a hunter. This information won’t be seen in any newspapers you can find," Frank whispered before standing up and coming close to Gastone.
"Wolves are rare to be seen, but they are not as big as this one. It is so massive that one bite could kill you and tear your flesh away. If I assume correctly, that wolf is taller than a human’s height," Frank explained with a grin. He laughed before patting Gastone’s shoulder after seeing his shocked expression.
In Frank’s mind, Gastone couldn’t believe he was telling the truth since it was really a work of fiction when he described it.
In reality, Gastone was shocked because he believed it was a Werewolf rather than a regular wolf.
Gastone wasn’t surprised if someone knew about the portal and how to activate it, knowing Rosina and him had already stayed there, but what bothered him was the fact that it killed someone.
"This isn’t good," Gastone whispered. He rubbed his face in frustration since he needed to inform the Palace about the discovery he attained, but at the same time, he wanted to use the opportunity to search for Lucia and bring her with him safely.
Gastone planned to relax on the first three days, but his guts told him ’no’ and he needed to move faster.
But the problem was that Gastone didn’t know where to start.
For the rest of the day, Gastone started asking the shops nearby about Lucia and described her appearance.
In the next two weeks, Gastone had gone to the government offices to ask, but the Lucias they gave were nowhere closer to his mate. It drained so much energy from him that he got thinner.
That night, Gastone decided to go into a bar for a few drinks to relax himself. He had been stressing and wanted to blame himself for being overconfident that he could find Lucia easily.
Gastone wore the black wig to cover his real identity and do whatever he wanted for the time being. He went to a cheaper bar and ordered a couple drinks that tasted nasty, but he was fine with it since it wouldn’t cost him much.
There were fewer ladies, and they looked ratchet, but some men entertained them.
Gastone sighed. He traced the lines of his glass with his index finger, thinking of the next step he would take.
Then, Gastone felt a burning feeling on the back of his head, as if someone was staring at him. He looked back and saw a figure sitting at the very corner of the room wearing a black cloak that covered its face.
