Alpha's Bite Between My Legs
Chapter 457: The Fresh Meat

Chapter 457: The Fresh Meat

"Tell me, what’s your current plan?" Draco asked curiously. He crossed his legs and waited for a reply.

Gastone pursed his lips, thinking deeply. "Well, I decided not to pursue her further if she didn’t want me. I will wait for my second-chance mate to come. I’m not that old, anyway. Besides, it’s troublesome that she’s human," he said.

Gastone shrugged it off. He was hurt, but the thought of a new mate coming comforted him.

"I see. Did you reject her then?" Draco asked. He soughed deeply, even though he disliked how Gastone threw his mate immediately without much effort to work the relationship.

"Why will I reject her if we are not a thing?" Gastone frowned. He knew about the rejection of a mate to cut the red string intertwining them.

Draco’s eyes widened. The surprise was so much that he put his feet down.

"Don’t tell me... You didn’t reject each other, and you expect a new mate will come? That’s not how it works," Draco said with a nervous laugh.

Gastone remained silent. He suddenly felt anxious that he missed that critical information to entirely cut himself from Lucia.

"Oh..." Gastone could only mutter those words.

"I have so many problems right now. I’m sure you can fix this on your own. You already know what to do," Draco stood up and stretched his body. Fatigue washed over him, and all he wanted to do was rest.

"How’s... Her Majesty?" Gastone asked, changing the subject.

"She’s more grumpy than usual. The birth took a toll on her physically and mentally. I’m doing all the work while letting her rest for more. Also, nice haircut," Draco informed, waving goodbye.

"I see. Good luck," Gastone stated and put his hood back, ignoring the compliment on his hairstyle.

As Draco was leaving. He stopped and looked at Gastone, who remained sitting in the waiting room. He went back and gave him a bag without a word and left.

Gastone raised an eyebrow, but he couldn’t even ask what it was.

At the same time, the door opened and Navin’s head appeared.

"Is it done, My Lord?" Navin asked with a wide grin on his face. He was excited to stroll the city with him.

"Yes," Gastone replied and ensured he was fully covered before going out.

The other knights, aside from Navin and Jorge, looked at Gastone with curiosity about his identity and his purpose for meeting the King.

"Navin, don’t make irrational actions that will draw attention," Jorge whispered and nudged Navin’s side to stop him from casually talking to Gastone loudly.

"Ehh!" Navin pouted. He was annoyed that he needed to tone down a bit.

Gastone remained silent while going back to his horse. His mind was full of thoughts as to what he was going to do next.

As they left the Palace grounds, Navin went beside Gastone with a grin.

"I know a great tavern around here," Navin winked at Gastone, hinting there was something more than just a simple drink.

"I don’t plan to get drunk," Gastone replied nonchalantly. He was mentally tired and wanted to get some decent sleep.

"A few drinks will do!" Navin exclaimed in excitement.

"We need to get a room first and put our horses before strolling around," Jorge reminded them since going back to the house would be another hours of travelling.

"I forgot!" Navin yelled. He didn’t think about their accommodation since he planned to get drunk and sleep in the tavern until morning.

"Let’s do that," Gastone agreed with Jorge and ushered him to lead since he didn’t know where.

Jorge found a good but cheap motel to which Gastone was satisfied.

After all, Gastone would be the one paying.

Upon settling in his room, Gastone slumped into his bed. He stared at the ceiling and rubbed his eyes in frustration. He glanced at the pouch Draco gave him.

Gastone sat up and opened it. To his surprise, he saw a wig in black color.

"What the hell is this for!?" Gastone exclaimed. He wiggled the black wig.

Gastone didn’t know if he would feel taken care of or insulted by Draco’s action.

"He said he liked my haircut..." Gastone whispered and threw the wig away. He slumped back to his bed, and when he was about to take a nap, a loud knock bombarded his door.

Gastone grumbled, and he didn’t need to open it to know who it was.

"I’ll be downstairs!" Gastone shouted and covered his ears. He just wanted to rest since it had been rough on the road.

Gastone closed his eyes for about 15 minutes but couldn’t sleep after hearing Navin’s loud voice murmuring below.

"That man," Gastone sighed. He sat up and was about to wear his black cloak, but remembering what had happened last time in a town stopped him.

"Ah! I might get in trouble again," Gastone sighed, glancing at the wig. He frowned while grabbing the wig, putting it over his head to see what he looked like.

Looking at the mirror, Gastone burst laughing. He looked ridiculous at his new appearance. He fixed the wig to sit well on his head and brushed the tangled strands.

The black hair made Gastone’s electric blue eyes stand out.

"This will do for the meantime," Gastone muttered before organizing his things and ensuring to keep them safe while he was gone.

After another ten minutes, Gastone went down and witnessed Navin and Jorge drinking orange juice while waiting for him.

The hotel room they rented had a restaurant below.

Navin and Jorge looked at Gastone with utter shock. Their mouths hung open.

Gastone stood before them with a stoic expression. "Don’t say a word," he warned, looking at Navin.

"I won’t. Just want to say you look handsome in that color," Navin bit his lips to stop himself from laughing. He smiled tightly and turned around to avoid Gastone.

Jorge sighed while shaking his head. He understood why Gastone had done it to avoid the unwanted attention from the public, but he gathered another type of attention instead.

Ladies nearby whispered while lustfully staring at Gastone’s way.

"I know some great restaurants and bakeries to try on," Jorge said, changing the subject.

"Eh! We should go to the tavern!" Navin became serious and argued with Jorge.

"It’s too early. We can go there by nighttime," Jorge argued back. He glanced at Gastone, who was looking at the restaurant’s menu.

Even though Gastone had lived like a commoner in the human world for quite some time. He still found it amusing what the commoners in the Werewolf realm were up to.

"We should go embark a few stores before drinking," Gastone stated while nodding. He went out of the hotel and breathed the air outside, which was not that fresh.

Navin and Jorge followed behind while maintaining a certain distance, still doing their job as knights.

After all, they were in a public space and were worried someone might have recognize Gastone and caused problems for them.

Navin was more dedicated to keeping Gastone’s identity safe since he didn’t want to ruin the fun.

They went to a few bakeries nearby and grabbed some small items, snacking them while walking around.

"This velvet cookie tastes good. A bit sweet, but it’s delicious," Gastone voiced out his thoughts.

The cooks inside the Palace always prepared dishes that were closer to no flavor or a faint one. They used organic ingredients with less salt to ensure the health of the royal family at its finest.

The cookies were great, but that wouldn’t solve Gastone’s hunger. His nose smelled a fantastic scent of roasted meat. He immediately shifted direction and followed but stopped upon noticing it was going to the old commoner’s area.

"What’s wrong, Lord?" Jorged asked. "That place is famous for its meat," he explained.

Gastone frowned. If he was still the Crown Prince, he would only set foot in that place with proper precaution. He glanced around him, and the people didn’t give a sh^t.

"Maybe I should try," Gastone muttered and smiled tightly. He gulped and walked toward the place that was fully packed with wolves.

The scent made Gastone crazy. It was the first time that a simple smell made him salivate.

"Ah! It’s a long line!" Navin complained upon seeing a line of wolves waiting for a table.

"Well, it’s dinner time," Jorge replied, shrugging.

"We can find a much emptier place to eat immediately," Navin didn’t want to wait longer than fifteen minutes for a mere food that he could find elsewhere.

"No, we stay here," Gastone replied sternly. He was set to have a taste of that meat no matter what.

"My Lord..." Navin went closer to Gastone and whispered. " Are you sure to dwell here? This line could take up to one hour," he added.

"I’m fine with it. I need a price for swallowing my pride in going here," Gastone replied sternly with darkened eyes of determination.
