Chapter 451: The Red Bush

Chapter 451: The Red Bush

Gastone hurriedly pulled Lucia to the bushes in case the black smoke reappeared. He was worried that it had the intention to hurt Lucia.

"Is this the way?" Lucia asked. She wavered to venture into the bushes, thinking it would rip her clothes.

"Yes," Gastone replied hesitantly. He felt terrible lying to Lucia, but he needed to. He took a step back and prepared the rose pendant. He didn’t know what would happen if he licked the item, which made him anxious.

"O-okay," Lucia gulped and carefully pushed the bush away from her.

Gastone gripped the pendant and pulled Lucia back.

"What’s the matter?" Lucia asked in confusion. She thought they were entering at that moment.

"I won’t be coming with you to the road. So, here, take this. Maybe you’ll need it for a ride," Gastone stated and handed paper money to Lucia, which the human world used.

Lucia’s eyes widened. The money could last her a month, and she paused to take it.

"I-It’s too much. You’ve given me many things already?" Lucia waved her hand and looked away, rejecting the money.

"Too much is better than nothing at all," Gastone replied. He grabbed Lucia’s hand and put the money in her palm. "Now, I want you to close your eyes," he added.

Lucia opened her mouth to complain, but the amount was too enormous to let go.

"Thank you," Lucia said shyly before putting the money in her bag. She was silently happy that Gastone gave her something she could utilise immediately.

Lucia shut her eyes, following Gastone’s instructions. She felt his hand grab hers and guide her. Butterflies erupted in her skin upon feeling him holding her.

Lucia wanted to squeal but kept her mouth shut, or else Gastone would find her weird. Instead, she bit her lips as hard as she could.

Gastone frowned upon seeing Lucia’s reaction. He thought if she was uncomfortable or holding her defecation that bad.

’I hope this works well without any problems,’ Gastone thought and uncomfortably licked the rose pendant. The metal taste scrapped into his tongue, and he wanted to spit it out.

The pendant glowed in deep red, and its particles spread above.

Gastone hurriedly faced the pendant toward the bushes. His heart was beating loudly at the magic he was seeing.

The particles slowly attached themselves to the bushes, and they turned red. The infected bush spread apart, creating a path.

Gastone frowned since nothing was special about it, but it was better than having a giant orb as a portal. He glanced at Lucia, who remained with her eyes closed.

"Are you ready to go?" Gastone asked with a tight smile. He breathed out, letting his emotions settle down, but he couldn’t. He wondered if that was the last time he would witness Lucia’s face.

"Y-yes," Lucia replied. His voice was soft, but there was no hint of happiness. She gripped Gastone’s hand tightly, trying to remember how it felt upon touching him.

Both remained silent, enjoying each other’s company. Their aura radiated the want to keep each other close, but they kept their mouth shut about it.

Gastone stared at Lucia’s face with her eyes closed. He focused on her lips, which were plump and juicy.

Without hesitation, Gastone grabbed Lucia’s chin, tilted it upward and kissed her passionately.

Lucia opened her eyes briefly in surprise. She liked it so much that she shut her eyes back again and enjoyed the kiss. She reciprocated his feelings and caved to him.

Gastone grabbed Lucia’s waist and pulled her close, deepening their kiss. He inserted his tongue and twirled around Lucia’s to taste her flavor, engraving it into his brain.

"You’re so sweet," Gastone whispered after breaking the kiss. He lifted Lucia’s body and made her back face the bushes.

Gastone initially planned to let Lucia go with closed eyes, but thinking that could be their final moment broke him. So he changed the plan. He wanted to see every piece of her until she vanished.

"Gastone... I..." Lucia sniffed as tears formed in her eyes. She was conflicted in her emotions, and she was too prideful to admit what she desired at that moment.

"I don’t know what’s stopping you, but if it’s something important and serious. You can keep it until you’re ready to tell me one day, but this might be the last time we’ll see each other. So, I hope and wish you’ll live a good life that makes you happy," Gastone whispered while caressing Lucia’s cheeks. He wiped her forming tears and kissed her eyes.

It was a gentle gesture that made Lucia want to cry more.

As the time they were together on that journey. Gastone had been putting the puzzles together in his mind about what Lucia had been up to. He knew she was using him to get by until she was settled, but he didn’t care.

Gastone also knew Lucia’s dislike of some of his behaviors was genuine, and he was kind of hurt because of that, but that later changed when they upgraded their intimacy to Lucia’s desires.

Gastone sensed Lucia became closer to him, and how she informed him about the things she experienced that might hint about the mating bond gave him hope.

However, Gastone didn’t want to stop Lucia if she had other things to do back in the human world.

"I don’t know what you’re saying, but thank you. That was nice," Lucia replied. She pursed her lips as it was the most excellent thing Gastone told her.

Both stared at one another’s eyes for the longest time before Gastone broke the contact. He grabbed Lucia by the shoulder and slowly pushed her toward the bush.

"Am I going now?" Lucia asked. Her breath hitched when Gastone nodded with a sad smile.

Lucia wanted to cry and begged Gastone for her to stay, but that was what she wanted in the first place.

"When can I see you again?" Lucia asked and stopped walking. Her eyes showed earnestness.

Gastone was taken aback. He chuckled while shaking his head. "I thought you hated me," he stated.

"I want to hate you more!" Lucia yelped and pouted in embarrassment.

"Haha! When the time comes, but I’ll think about it," Gastone replied. He thought about the second-chance mate thing and if his new mate arrived in his life. He would give up on Lucia.

"Find me," Lucia gripped Gastone’s arms tightly to show she meant it. She wanted him to find her to give a sense of relief on her side.

Gastone clenched his jaws. He didn’t answer immediately as his brain still lagged. He couldn’t believe Lucia wanted him to locate her in such a vast place.

"Find me, Gastone," Lucia repeated sternly. She grabbed Gastone’s collar and pulled him for another kiss.

The kiss lasted for two minutes before Lucia separated herself. She waved goodbye to Gastone, who remained frozen in the spot.

Lucia smiled broadly, going straight to the bushes without noticing the red stain around it. She continued to walk until her heart couldn’t take it anymore. She started to run, or else she would return back to Gastone.

"LUCIA!" Gastone shouted, but it was too late. She was gone.
