Chapter 429: The Bird Is Free From The Cage
The next day, Gastone received a reply from Draco. He was expecting it, but his heart was in pain that it would finally come to an end.
As Gastone opened the letter. It was a blank space with a single word written in the middle.
[ NO! ]
Gastone’s mouth hung open in shock at how Draco communicated with him.
"What is he? A child?" Gastone gasped before crumpling the paper. He was about to throw the envelope when another piece of paper fell down, and he wasn’t even surprised. He took the form and read its content.
"I am busy. Will bring you to my attention in the next three days," Gastone muttered in disbelief.
"Three days!? How can I even say it to her!" Gastone shouted in stress while massaging his head. He worried Lucia would overreact and run away instead of waiting.
Gastone stood up and scratched his head. He needed to talk and find a good excuse for the delay since Lucia wouldn’t understand if he said they were in a different world. He sniffed Lucia’s scent and found her in the kitchen.
"Lucia, we need to talk," Gastone stated after getting closer.
Lucia didn’t feel Gastone’s presence, which made her flinched in surprise. She looked back with a mouth full of stuffed bread. Her cheeks looked like an overfed hamster, which he found cute.
"G-gashtown," Lucia hastily stood up and greeted, still chewing the food in her mouth. She quickly munched to speak clearly while looking down to hide her face.
Gastone bit his lips to stop himself from smiling since their topic would be a serious one. He slightly turned his head to the side while covering his mouth.
At that angle, Lucia looked up, and her eyes widened. She found Gastone’s side view magnificently handsome, especially his nose.
"Woah," Lucia couldn’t help but be amazed. She understood that Gastone had that handsome face for a man, but the longer she stayed with him, the more she realized that his face was like God’s rare creation of beauty when he accidentally dropped a bottle full of attractiveness spell.
"Huh?" Gastone hummed when she heard Lucia speak but couldn’t understand what it was.
Lucia raised her palm to gesture to Gastone to wait while she gulped her food. "D-do you need something f-from me?" she asked while looking away.
The atmosphere between them was awkward, especially for Gastone. Whenever he looked at Lucia, he remembered her lusting for his milk.
"I have something to notify you," Gastone stated clearly and sighed. "There seems to be a problem, which led to a three-day delay in your departure," he added.
"Three days!?" Lucia exclaimed. She thought she would be gone that day immediately.
"Yes, we can build you a separate room in the meantime away from here—" Gastone couldn’t continue when Lucia replied immediately.
"No! It’s alright. I-I can stay here for three days," Lucia replied and looked away with a pink blush on her cheeks.
"Ah... okay," Gastone nodded before turning around to leave.
Lucia cupped her cheeks with twinkling eyes. "Three days... I can do anything I want since I’ll be leaving anyway and won’t be able to see him again!" she exclaimed with delight.
Lucia’s brain shifted into a new perspective. She smirked and laughed menacingly after she felt released from her cage.
Gastone, on the other hand, felt shivers behind his back, followed by a sneeze.
"Ugh, I feel sick," Gastone whispered while feeling his forehead. It was rare for a wolf to get sick due to their robust immune system. He went back to his room and stared at the ceiling.
"My life’s been boring lately..." Gastone muttered while recalling all the activities he had done after going back to the Werewolf realm. It was peaceful, but there was nothing that kept him busy aside from Lucia.
After a few minutes, Gastone decided to wander around the forest to exercise and find something to distract him.
Gastone felt hurt and saddened that Lucia would leave him, but somehow, it affected his ego more than his emotions. He couldn’t believe he wasn’t able to woo his own mate to like him.
As usual, Navin followed him while Jorge stayed behind. He didn’t care at that point as he got used to it.
Gastone removed his shirt and tucked it in his pockets.
"Are we on the run, Lord?" Navin asked as he stripped as well.
"Hmm," Gastone hummed and started jogging. He didn’t wait for Navin as he wanted to focus on clearing his mind.
Their run ended after an hour. Both men were sweaty from the heat. They returned to the house and saw Jorge and Lucia roasting meat outside.
Lucia glanced at Gastone, and her eyes lowered to his sweaty upper body and abs. She gulped and immediately looked away to avoid being caught lusting over him, but it was too late.
Gastone could sense Lucia’s quick gaze, but he smelled her arousal most of all. It was the first time he smelled that scent, even after being with Lucia as she drank and lusted his milk.
"What is happening?" Gastone muttered loudly, referring to the scent, but they considered it a question about their cooking. He couldn’t understand why it was happening all of a sudden.
"We are making dinner, Lord," Jorge replied, showing Gastone the uncooked, seasoned meat.
Gastone didn’t reply and went inside the house to take a quick shower to freshen up. When he reached for his towel, he realized it was no longer there.
"Huh?" Gastone became confused as he always put his towel in that same cabinet. He kept searching when there was a knock on the door.
"Gastone?" Lucia whispered softly.
"I’ll be outside later," Gastone panicked when he heard the doorknob twisted, but he locked it. He didn’t dare open it since he was practically naked and didn’t want to shock Lucia if he opened the door for her.
"Open the door, please," Lucia stated and knocked on the door several times.
"No," Gastone replied sternly and rubbed his face in frustration.
"Okay," Lucia replied, and there was silence.
Gastone could smell Lucia’s scent outside and her breathing, which made him hesitant to open the door.
"Lucia, whatever it is. Can we talk about it later? I am busy," Gastone replied, but there was no answer. He was confused at how Lucia spoke to him freely after she made her intentions known.
Gastone waited a few minutes before he felt Lucia’s presence was gone. He opened the door and saw a towel before him. He picked it up, and his nose picked a vanilla-scented soap on them.
"Did she wash them?" Gastone muttered in surprise. He never thought Lucia would touch any of his laundry. He used it and dressed himself.
Gastone went downstairs and looked at the window. He saw Lucia talking to Jorge and Navin with a smile on her face. Somehow, he was jealous, but he shrugged it off. He made his own dinner that night and didn’t bother joining them.
"Ah, why am I even here? I have nothing to do. At this point, I’m missing any chaos happening in my life," Gastone muttered tiredly while looking at the bright sky. His energy drained even though he did nothing most days he stayed in the realm.
Coincidentally, the clear sky vanished and was replaced with grey clouds, and it didn’t take long before the rain poured down.
