Chapter 407: The Chocolates

Draco crossed his arms and glared at the man before him. He used his body as a barrier to prevent any entrance to the door.

"Why are you here, Lord Fabio?" Draco gritted his teeth in annoyance. He didn’t expect Fabio would appear a few days after Rosina gave birth.

"Ah, Your Majesty. I’m here to bring gifts to Her Majesty in celebration of her childbirth," Fabio replied and showed a box full of chocolates, some even had hearts on them.

"My wife is not taking any visitors since she’s nursing our child," Draco explained and thought Fabio would leave, but it was the opposite.

"Ah, then perhaps can I talk to Her Majesty during her rest time?" Fabio asked with a wide smile, hoping for Draco to agree.

"What’s the purpose of your visit and why are you eager to see the Queen when the King is right in front of you, Lord Fabio," Draco stated roughly. His chest vibrates to show his dominance.

"Ah... ah," Fabio opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. He didn’t expect Draco to be in his way, which led him to no choice.

"Speak," Draco stated sternly and puffed himself to grow larger.

"Well..." Fabio was hesitant, but he knew he couldn’t pass Draco to meet Rosina. In the end, he yielded and dropped his plan, but he wanted to vent out.

"Your Majesty, I’m here to complain about the Midnight Pack. I know you’re there and perhaps you’ve seen how I was treated. I came as a guest, but they paid no attention to me and treated me like crap!" Fabio exclaimed at being offended that his noble status was shrugged off.

"Are you angry because you participated in an event that gives focus toward the men aiming for the Pack’s Position?" Draco asked in confusion. He had seen Fabio lurking in Midnight pack while trying his best to grab Felissa’s attention but was unsuccessful.

"Look, Your Majesty. I spend a couple coins to enter the Midnight Pack, but Lady... I mean, the Luna didn’t even meet me one time, or chat with me. It’s very disrespectful to ignore a noble," Fabio replied while shaking his head. He thought he did something, but all it did was make Draco’s blood boil.

"You’re telling me, this is the problem you want to talk with my wife?" Draco asked with a raised eyebrow as Fabio nodded in agreement.

Draco closed his eyes for a few seconds to prevent himself from punching Fabio. He would if he wasn’t the King and had no reputation to give a sh^t about.

"Hmm, Lord Fabio. I might need to remind you that Luna Felissa have a mate and they are about to get married anytime soon. Focusing on the Pack is their top priority as leaders and not entertain any nobles just because they feel entitled. Even I as a King did my part without complaint, while you do. Isn’t that quite ironic?" Draco replied in a low, deep tone that gave chills on Fabio’s spine. He walked closer to create a shorter distance and asserted his dominance.

"I... I don’t mean it that way, Your Majesty," Fabio dropped the basket he carried and stepped back. The submissiveness inside him raised when Draco stimulated it. He lowered his head and felt st^pid for even trying to stay relevant.

"I suggest you work on yourself and perhaps spend time with your mate. You won’t want to see her get hurt after knowing you’re still chasing a mated she-wolf. Have some respect for yourself, Lord Fabio," Draco stated nonchalantly before giving a decent smile.

Fabio gritted his teeth and accepted defeat. "Yes, Your Majesty. Thank you for your time," he stated before leaving hurriedly.

Draco shook his head in disappointment and grabbed the box of chocolates. He wanted to keep it since it was an expensive gift. His eyes glanced at the moving carriage where Gastone and Lucia rode.

"I hope Gastone change a little bit. It’s for his own good," Draco muttered and inhaled deeply. He proceeded inside the Palace and went straight to Rosina’s chambers.

But little did Draco know, Rosina was already watching him through the window.

Rosina took a bite of the apple while squinting her eyes. She saw Fabio but didn’t care about him. She was more concerned about the other carriage and saw a glimpse of Lucia with Gastone beside her.

"Fina, is my baby asleep?" Rosina asked before facing her servant.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Fina replied and glanced at Alessandro sleeping soundly.

"Watch him for me. I’ll be out for a bit," Rosina stated and was about to leave when the door opened and Draco entered with a big smile on his face.

"Hello, love. Someone delivered some chocolates. Do you want to try them?" Draco asked and kissed Rosina’s forehead.

Rosina immediately engulfed a huge sum of Draco’s scent to sense the lady’s smell, but she caught nothing.

"Where have you been?" Rosina asked and took the chocolates.

"Ah, just around the corner. How’s your rest?" Draco asked and went to Alessandro’s bed.

"I’m fine," Rosina replied and stared at Fina, gesturing for her to leave.

"That’s great," Draco stated and tucked Alessandro’s pillows on the side to keep his baby comfortable.

"How’s Gastone? Where is he right now?" Rosina asked while acting interested in the chocolates and opening one pack. She saw the little flinch on Draco’s body and immediately knew something suspicious was going on.

"Ah, I sent him to one of my houses to live. After all, he needs to get some fresh air," Draco replied without facing Rosina. He tried to keep calm and composed himself after knowing how observant his mate was. He didn’t want to keep Lucia a secret, but he didn’t desire Rosina to trouble herself with other matters.

"Hmm, well, I hope he will have a great stay," Rosina replied with a smile. She went beside Draco and hugged him from the back. She immediately heard how fast his heartbeat was. Her urge to ask him about what she saw grew, but she wanted to catch them in the act.

After all, Rosina didn’t receive any information about a new woman that accompanied Gastone.
