Chapter 403: The Heir
Chapter 403: The Heir
The Knights and servants continuously ran through the halls and corridors in panic. It was the day their Queen had given birth to the throne’s heir, and the news startled the entire realm.
After all, Rosina’s pregnancy remained hidden from the public.
Draco was outside the delivery room, listening to Rosina scream while pushing their baby. He wanted to be beside her while she delivered, but Rosina yelled at him to go out.
"GET THAT THING OUT OF ME!!!" Rosina screamed and used all her strength to push the baby one last time. She felt her energy drained from her body.
"Your Majesty!" the Theta exclaimed in astonishment while holding the newborn child.
The room’s door opened and let Draco inside. His eyes lit up at the crying baby in the Theta’s arms.
"It’s a boy, Your Majesty," the Theta stated with tears in her eyes. She handed the baby to Draco and started cleaning Rosina.
"I feel like... I’m dying," Rosina whispered while taking deep breaths. The pain was unbearable, but her wolf took half of it.
Draco smiled tearfully and walked toward Rosina’s side. He sat down on the bed and gave the baby to Rosina.
"Thank you for making our family grow bigger," Draco whispered, lovingly kissing Rosina’s head.
Rosina sighed in relief that her p^ssy was finally at rest. She looked at her son and noticed his hair had red strands, just like her. She glanced at Draco with a knowing smirk on her face.
"Okay, you win," Draco chuckled while shaking his head. They had a bet as to which hair color their baby would take, and the prize was a three-day vacation.
"Send out letters to each Pack and announce the Crown’s heir," Rosina stated with a sigh and handed the baby to the Theta. She wanted to rest well without anyone disturbing her, including Draco.
"Alright," Draco stood up and was about to leave when Rosina said another word.
"And send one to Gastone, too," Rosina added, closing her eyes.
"What? Why!?" Draco was stunned since Gastone wasn’t even part of their family since they had no blood connection.
"Because he can go back into the realm. His mother is already in the jail I created. There’s no harm; besides, he needs to meet his mate," Rosina whispered while gesturing for Draco to go away. She wanted to take a nap while having the work done.
Draco pursed his lips before leaving the room and didn’t want to bother his wife’s rest. He went to his office and wrote several letters to all Pack leaders.
It was great news but a dangerous one. Even though they didn’t have active enemies at the moment, Draco didn’t want to let his guard down.
Draco wrote the last letter, which was for Gastone. He stood up and asked his Beta, Gino, to send the letters. He mind-linked his Gamma, Duilio and Gamma, Biagio to double the Knights and Warriors on Sabrecrown borders and the Palace for safety.
"Hmm, but there’s one more problem," Draco muttered and frowned in deep thought. Many words came into his mind, but he was unsure. In the end, he returned to the delivery room, where Rosina was napping.
Draco saw Rosina eating her favorite milk cookies with a hot chocolate drink when he arrived.
"Is something wrong?" Rosina asked with a raised eyebrow. She had napped for an hour and still felt weak.
"We haven’t discussed about our baby’s name!" Draco exclaimed and pinched the bridge of his nose due to stress.
"Why are you overreacting?" Rosina rolled her eyes and glanced at the baby sleeping on the tiny bed beside her.
"Because we still have no name for him. It’s important," Draco sighed and sat on the sofa.
"Hmm, please leave us a bit," Rosina stated, gesturing at Fina to leave the room. She knew it would be an argument with Draco since they had different tastes in names.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Fina bowed and scrammed away. She stood beside Silvio outside. They had been with the couple for so long that they knew what was going to happen.
The silence inside the room became heavy as Rosina and Draco stared at one another intensely.
"Matteo," Rosina stated, but Draco shook his head in disagreement.
"Guiseppe," Draco suggested one, but Rosina rolled her eyes.
"Can you suggest a decent one?" Rosina crossed her arms and flicked her tongue. It hadn’t even been three hours after she gave birth, but she was already arguing with her husband.
"That is a decent name!" Draco gasped in disbelief.
"Marco," Rosina stated sternly in an attempt to make Draco agree.
"Why are you choosing basic short names? I want my heir to have an elegant name that will be known in the realm’s history," Draco explained softly and dreamed about the history books that would hold their names and achievements for the future pups to read and learn.
"Are you projecting? You have a basic short name," Rosina sighed and amusedly shook her head.
"My name is based on Dragons," Draco argued and was slightly offended.
"Yeah, sure," Rosina replied nonchalantly. "But since I bore him, I will be the one to name my child," she added with a smirk.
"Hah! Okay, childbirth is difficult, but I worked hard as well. The amount of strength my hips took to pump my seeds inside you is not child’s play," Draco explained his side with a playful smile. His eyes twinkled when Rosina almost choked on her drink.
"Excuse me!? Sex is not included in naming the pup!" Rosina was stunned and didn’t want to lose against Draco.
"Francesco," Draco suggested again.
"No!" Rosina replied sternly and flopped back on the bed. The stress piled up, and she wanted it to be over.
Seeing how exhausted his mate was, Draco stood up and cradled Rosina. He smothered her with kisses on the head. "I’m sorry, you should take a rest. We’ll talk about this soon," he whispered.
Rosina was silent for a few seconds before glancing toward Draco. "Alessandro, deal or no deal?" she glared at him while waiting for an answer.
Draco thought for a few seconds and deemed it long enough. "Alessandro Violante, hmm. Not bad, I agree with you!" he exclaimed and lay on the same bed. He wanted to be with his wife and child, and it didn’t take long before they slept through the entire day.
