Chapter 399: The Sun in His Life
Vicenzo sighed deeply. He started playing with Felissa’s hair with multiple thoughts in his mind. He was happy that Felissa decided to become honest with him, making him want to do the same.
"I have to tell you something," Vicenzo stated, clearing his throat. He didn’t want to talk about his past since he hated it, but he knew Felissa deserved to know the truth.
"What is it?" Felissa asked and tilted her head to the side in anticipation.
"My father... is the Mystic Pack’s Alpha, Paolo Pisano," Vicenzo stated sternly, gritting his teeth. He hated his father and didn’t want to see any glimpsed of him.
"Huh?" Felissa’s eyes widened in shock. She might have guessed that Vicenzo’s father might have died or left them, but she didn’t expect an Alpha to be his father.
"My mother is a mistress, and I’m the result of their infidelity," Vicenzo’s eyes lowered in shame.
"And I’m still okay with that," Felissa cupped Vicenzo’s cheeks and made him face her.
"Paolo wants my mom to be around him even if he has a wife, and my mom decides to stay within the Pack even though she will be hidden from the civilization," Vicenzo continued his story for Felissa to know everything.
"And then? You can say anything you want. I’ll listen," Felissa replied and leaned her head into Vicenzo’s chest, hearing his raging heartbeat.
"Growing up, I always wondered how we had no neighbours and being alone in the forest. Our source of food was the plantation my mom tried hard to grow. I don’t want to drag it further, but Caj’s found out about us and used it to his advantage. That’s where I became a spy to keep my mother safe. As for my father, I haven’t seen him for years and have no intention of bonding with him. I just don’t understand why my mother keeps pushing me to meet him!" Vicenzo grumbled aggressively. His rage was seeping out of his pores as it was the first time he ranted about his life.
"What does your mother say about your dad?" Felissa asked. She was trying to gather all the pieces and form an answer.
Vicenzo sighed deeply. "My mom always tells me the Alpha is her mate, but when they met, he was already married for political reasons. That doesn’t justify that we’ve been neglected for years," he whispered with sad eyes.
"Your father might have been in a tight spot since they belonged to the Old Monarchs, where status is valued more than bonds," Felissa replied to give justice to what had happened to her mate.
Vicenzo shook his head and disagreed with Felissa. "I don’t know what his reasons are, but I know for sure that my mom suffered throughout those years. I already know what it feels to have a mate, and I won’t do the same like he did," he replied.
"Maybe he wants to protect her from his wife? I don’t want to take sides, but maybe there’s an important reason behind it. You should ask him to calm the raging waves of questions in your heart, Vicenzo," Felissa muttered, caressing Vicenzo’s skin where his heart lies.
Vicenzo grumbled as a reply since he was still unconvinced that his father was a good mate.
Felissa closed her eyes and tried to put herself in Gemma, Vicenzo’s mother’s position. She wanted to see what her action would be in the given situation and finally understood a little.
"If our situation is similar to theirs, and I find you as my mate while you’re married. I’m willing to step aside so I won’t destroy what you’ve built—" Felissa couldn’t continue her sentence when Vicenzo grabbed her shoulders and faced her.
"No, you are my mate, and I will never marry someone other than you. I’d rather drop my title and status just to be with you, Felissa. I’m ready to risk everything to hold you in my arms and feel your heat in my skin. I desire you to be my first and last thing to see every time I open and close my eyes. You are the light, my sun," Vicenzo replied in a soft tone that melted Felissa’s heart.
"A s-sun?" Felissa gasped at how Vicenzo deemed her in his life.
"Yes, you are the sun in my cold world. I will never be with anyone other than you, Felissa. I want you to remember that," Vicenzo smiled genuinely, and their eyes locked at one another.
"C-can you say it again?" Felissa whispered and pulled Vicenzo closer to her.
"You are the light of my life. You’re my sun," Vicenzo repeated with a smile and watched Felissa’s eyes sparkle.
Felissa couldn’t help but shed tears. She was overjoyed, and the mate bond grew stronger. She wrapped her arms around Vicenzo’s neck and captured his lips in a passionate kiss.
Vicenzo froze in surprise but melted in Felissa’s touch. He pulled her close to his body and settled her on his waist to give her a comfortable position.
Their tongue danced together in a soft harmony while their hands glided on each other skin.
Felissa pushed Vicenzo back, breaking the kiss to take a quick breath. Her face was tainted red from the overwhelming emotions she was feeling.
"Thank you for coming into my life," Felissa muttered, touching Vicenzo’s lips.
"You are very welcome, my sweet mate," Vicenzo replied and leaned forward for another kiss, but it didn’t last long. He pulled away and looked at the basket. "You should eat. It’s late at night, and you haven’t eaten dinner," he stated in concern.
Felissa tilted her head and shifted her position, but Vicenzo immediately held her still. She felt something poked underneath her thighs, and at first, she thought it might be a twig, but seeing Vicenzo’s flustered face, she knew it was his b0ner.
"I will be having my dinner at this moment," Felissa smirked and pushed Vicenzo to the ground. She put her hand on his chest to prevent him from sitting up. She looked at his widened eyes with a smile. "And I will be your dinner as well," she said before leaning down and kissing Vicenzo deeper.
