Alpha's Bite Between My Legs
Chapter 393: The Engagement

Chapter 393: The Engagement

Felissa and Vicenzo stood before an enormous bed where Affonso lay down. Pantee and their first son, Carl, were standing on the opposite side.

"I can’t believe what has happened. It’s.... too much," Pantee whispered with her hands covering her mouth. She couldn’t believe what they told her since the discovery was too unreal.

"Yes, but it’s good that we are at peace for now," Affonso stated with a deep sigh.

"But father, that woman will come back to collect the payment when the time comes, isn’t it disturbing?" Carl asked while in deep thought. He took notes of their conversation and found it more worrying since they didn’t know what the woman wanted in exchange for his father’s life.

Felissa looked down in understanding. She was worried as well, but she shrugged it off. "Well, perhaps it won’t be that bad," she said, chuckling.

Everyone was silent. They knew deep inside the trade wouldn’t be something minor.

"Once again, I apologise for this inconvenience," Affonso muttered softly. The guilt of giving someone a burden was eating him alive.

"No, we are the ones at fault. We should have been more careful," Felissa replied. She clenched her fists to control her emotions and calmed down when Vicenco held her hand.

"What is done is done. For now, Luna Felissa, you should focus on your Pack and the participants. For sure, they are waiting for your announcement," Pantee stated merrily to cheer the gloomy atmosphere around them.

Felissa glanced at Carlo. He was still young, yet he already thought maturely.

"You’ll be a great Alpha one day," Felissa whispered her thoughts openly, making everyone hear what she just said.

"HAHA! Thank you for that compliment, Luna," Affonso chuckled in delight since Felissa could see Carl’s capacities.

"T-thank you, but I still need to learn more," Carl blushed. His shyness brought warmth inside the room.

A knock was heard, and Draco went inside. His face was serious and showed anxiousness.

"Your Majesty," they greeted in unison.

"Hello, everyone. I would like to say that I’ll be returning to Sabrecrown in an instant. It was lovely to be here, and I enjoyed my work vacation," Draco explained while walking toward the group.

"Your Majesty, I will prepare for your departure," Affonso forced himself to sit up, but Draco gestured him to stay.

"How are you feeling?" Draco asked with a smile.

"I am getting back my strength, but the Theta states that I should be fine in a couple of days," Affonso replied gently.

"That’s great," Draco stated before turning to Felissa and Vicenzo. His facial expression changed to worry. "How about you two?" he asked.

"I’m great!" Felissa exclaimed to show she was taking it all well.

"We are preparing to leave and return to Midnight Pack to finish all of this," Vicenzo replied, and both men looked at one another eye-to-eye.

"Hmm," Draco nodded and gave everyone a wave.

"Then, I bid everyone goodbye," Draco stated before leaving hastily.

They chatted for a while before Felissa and Vicenzo decided to get ready for their return to Midnight Pack. The prisoners were sent to a cart with their hands tied behind their backs. Most Knights were located to guard them to prevent any escape.

It was already nighttime when everything was ready. Affonso, Pantee and their two sons were standing by the door of the Pack House. They were watching the preparations and would bid goodbye to their guests.

"Alpha, Luna, we shall make our way home," Felissa stated and gave them a smile.

"Thank you as well. If something happens in the future and you need my help, please don’t hesitate to send me a letter. I’ll be there," Affonso stated genuinely. He was still concerned about the day when the woman would collect the payment for saving his life.

"I will. Thank you for hosting us. Goodbye," Felissa waved before leaving.

On the other hand, Vicenzo stayed behind. He stared into Affonso’s eyes before he spoke. "If something unusual happened here. Tell us," he said.

"Yes, we will. You’re going to be a good Alpha and a husband. I hope everything will be resolved," Affonso tapped Vicenzo’s shoulder as encouragement.

Vicenzo smiled and nodded his head before leaving.

That night, they travelled back to Midnight Pack, but before they reached the borders, the knights prepared themselves for any possible attack from the traitors left in the Pack, and they weren’t wrong.

By the time they arrived at the Pack’s borders. A group of men in black, wearing a mask, jumped into the carriage and used their swords to pierce inside in an attempt to kill.

"Haha! We got them!" the traitor yelled in delight.

The coachmen and several knights didn’t fight back and lowered their swords. They let the traitors search the carriages, but it was empty.

"Where are our men!?" the traitors shouted, pointing their swords toward the knights to threaten them.

"We don’t know, we are just sent here," the knights reasoned out and pleaded, which the traitors believed.

The traitors returned to the Pack House, but to their surprise, Felissa and Vicenzo stood tall, looking over them. Their knees gave out upon seeing their families kneeling on the ground with blindfolds.

Felissa gave them a gentle smile. She didn’t say a single word, but the traitors surrendered their swords.

"Lady Vanda did a good job," Vicenzo whispered and glanced at the woman standing behind the tree, overlooking the scene.

"Indeed," Felissa replied and nodded to the knights.

The knights began their arrest of the traitors. Some resisted, while others let themselves be taken to protect their family from harm.

After clearing everything with the traitors, they proceeded to the following problem: the participants.

"Are you going to let the families of the traitors go?" Vicenzo asked with a frown. He was worried those wolves would take revenge if left unsupervised.

"Yes, they might dislike how I ascended to leadership, but that doesn’t mean they will turn a blind eye to how we lead the Pack together," Felissa sighed and looked at Vicenzo, caressing his face.

"What do you mean?" Vicenzo furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. He wasn’t an Alpha yet and didn’t want to rush Felissa’s decision, but her words bemused him.

Felissa laughed in amusement. They were currently back in the Pack House as everyone was busy doing their given task. She pinched Vicenzo’s cheeks before showing her fingers, which had the Emerald ring.

"You... I..." Vicenzo was speechless and grasped Felissa’s hand while staring at the engagement ring he had given her.

"Yes, I will marry you!" Felissa exclaimed. She jumped and hugged Vicenzo tightly before showering him with kisses.

On the other hand, Vicenzo was still in shock, and his mouth hung open. "You’re marrying me?" he asked. He wanted to be sure that he was hearing it right.

"Yes! That’s what I’ve said!" Felissa tilted her head and settled down. She was puzzled how Vicenzo didn’t look happy. She knew her timing was not great but didn’t want to extend it further. "Are you reluctant?" she asked timidly.

"No... No," Vicenzo pinched his nose bridge and took a deep breath. He knelt to the ground on one knee and held Felissa’s hand, looking deep into her eyes.

"Lady Felissa Nucci, will you marry me?" Vicenzo asked sweetly. He did that action because he wanted to make it memorable for Felissa, even though their situation was a bit chaotic.

Felissa smiled and teared up. "Yes, yes, yes! I will marry you and spend the rest of my life by your side," she stated and sniffed.

Vicenzo grinned widely and kissed Felissa’s knuckles. He stood up and lifted her in the air while circling around. He was the happiest man in the realm at that moment.

"Ehem, I don’t want to disturb you two," a knock on the door was heard, and Vanda’s voice echoed outside.

"Um, please enter," Felissa stated and fixed herself as Vanda entered with a letter in hand.

"I don’t want to bother you, but there’s a letter from the Palace," Vanda stated, handing the letter to both Felissa and Vicenzo.

Both were confused since it hadn’t been a day since Draco left. They opened the letter and read its content.

"Oh, my goddess! Rosina has given birth!" Felissa exclaimed and giggled with excitement.

"Oh my!" Vanda gasped in happiness, and both ladies hugged one another.

Vicenzo smiled and finally knew why Draco hurriedly went back to Sabrecrown.

"Well, we should finish all of these things before visiting Sabrecrown," Felissa folded the letter and went to get a fresh one on the table. She began writing her reply with a big smile.

"By the way, congratulations. I hope you two will have a wonderful wedded life together," Vanda stated genuinely. She had heard what had happened from outside.

"Thank you, Lady Vanda. I hope you can get yours as well," Vicenzo replied, going beside Felissa and adding his message to the letter.

Little did they know, the smile on Vanda’s face disappeared and was replaced with disdain before leaving the room.
