Chapter 39: The Inlove
Rosina stepped out of the residence in a lavender lace gown with an off-shoulder top. A purple ribbon was set at the end of her fishtail braid at the back.
The servants who saw her were struck with awe by her beauty, especially the simple make-up that highlighted her facial features.
"May the Moon Goddess bless you, Lady Rosina," Fina and Sal stated while waving at her from the carriage.
"Thank you," Rosina smiled at them before the carriage started running. She leaned back on the seat and grasped her handkerchief that matches her clothes.
Rosina took several deep breaths as she felt anxious about personally meeting the King and Queen for her marriage. She wanted to ask Draco if he had any plans on how he would carry out their pretended marriage.
"Lady, we have arrived," the coachman stated before opening the door and assisting her in going down the stairs.
Seeing the palace door, Rosina felt heaviness in each step she took. The guards greeted her before opening the door to let her in.
’Where is Draco? I would cut his balls if he let me go alone...’ Rosina thought while gritting her teeth, but as soon as she entered, Draco was already waiting for her inside.
Draco was wearing his usual Prince attire, but they coordinated with the same color this time.
"You’re a bit early, Lady Rosina," Draco greeted and gave him his arm to hold.
"I don’t want to be late, Your Highness," Rosina whispered and tangled her hands in his arms as they walked towards the Throne room where they would meet the Monarchy.
"Also, don’t call me that. Refer me as Draco to show them we are close enough to call one another without the title," Draco leaned and whispered to her since there were servants working on the side.
"Okay, do you have any plan to carry out this scheme of yours?" Rosina whispered and leaned closer to Draco since they needed to act like a couple.
"Scheme is a big word to use for our contract, Rosina," Draco smirked and watched how Rosina glared at her upon mentioning her name without a title. "I don’t have any plans. Whatever happens, just get along with it."
"Are you serious?" Rosina looked at him with disbelief. She shook her head at how carefree he was when he wanted to act like mates in the first place.
Draco only laughed and went silent until they reached the throne room. "Relax, I know they would adore you since you are the Moon of the Night."
Rosina looked at him and remembered how the Queen gave her that title after she kissed her on the forehead. The door opened and Rosina’s anxiousness shot up.
’Wait, why am I even nervous about this meeting?’ Rosina thought and scoffed. Her body relaxed and she became calm, and Draco even noticed the change in her ambiance in a matter of seconds.
At the time they arrived, the Throne room was still empty, but it didn’t take long before the King and Queen came and sat on their seats while Rosina and Draco curtsied in front of them.
"Son, so this is the woman you’ll be marrying?" Rocco Violante, the King, stated with amusement. He stared at Rosina’s figure from top to bottom while nodding his head. Although, he had forgotten her face even if they had met back in the identity introduction of the event.
"I see, you had gotten the jewel among the crowd of stones," Cinzia Violante, the Queen, smiled at Rosina, but her aura showed disappointment.
"King and Queen Violante, I present you, Lady Rosina Greco of the Palecrest pack as my mate and future mother of my pups," Draco announced smoothly and gestured toward Rosina.
Rosina flinched a little when she heard what Draco had stated, especially about having pups. She fixed herself and curtsied, making an innocent face, and ambiance radiated in her body.
"Your Majesty, King, and Queen Violante. It’s a pleasure to meet you again," Rosina stated softly and created a delicate facial expression when she raised her head but didn’t meet their gazes.
"Why did you choose Prince Draco to be your mate? Many eligible men are participating in the Mating Event," Cinzia stated without pause. She wanted answers to her questions since she had high expectations toward Rosina that she would be flocked by lines of suitors for her hand in marriage.
’That’s not how mating works...’ Rosina thought and was dumbfounded by the Queen’s question. She wanted to snap back, but she would be welcoming another problem.
"Because I felt attracted to him the first time we met under the mask," Rosina explained while keeping a fake demure. She shyly looked at Draco with a loving gaze before lowering her head.
"And you felt that he was the one?" Cinzia’s voice raised upon stating her words.
"At first, I’m hesitant when I knew his real identity as a Prince and the weight of the title, but we bonded and matched each other’s energy during the days we spent together that I gave it a chance. I don’t want to regret if I let my affection go," Rosina clasped both of her hands and dreamily tell them their fake history.
"You seem so in love with my son," Rocco chuckled and looked proudly at Rosina. "But are you sure about this decision? Once you get married, you can’t turn back."
Rosina glanced at Draco. She pursed her lips and smiled softly at him. "Yes, I am sure. He is the one I wanted."
Draco twitched a bit from the expression and words from Rosina since she looked like in love with him. He knew that everything was an act to convince his parents, but he couldn’t help to feel a spark tingling in his back.
"As for you, Prince Draco, are you sure to stay loyal to your future wife and won’t commit a grave mistake that could ruin your family?" Cinzia asked firmly and stared at Draco’s eyes without breaking the eye contact.
Rosina could feel the tension and noticed the small flinch from the King after hearing what his wife had stated.
"Yes, I will stay loyal and protect her with my life," Draco stated firmly and put his hand on his chest to show sincerity.
