Chapter 385: The Lightcrest Pack

Chapter 385: The Lightcrest Pack

Felissa kept fidgeting with her fingers while worrying about Vicenzo’s safety. Her brain kept producing images that caused her anxiety.

Vinicio and Draco looked at one another and stared back at Felissa. They were concerned that it would affect her well-being.

"Luna, we should go back to the Midnight Pack," Vinicio stated softly, but Felissa shook her head.

"No, I will stay here for a couple of hours before travelling to Lightcrest Pack," Felissa explained and stood up. Her eyes showed determination and patience to wait. She wanted to be sure that if Vicenzo decided to come back, they would open the door, and she would greet him.

"I believe Sir Vicenzo will never come back here. He will reach the end of the Trial," Vinicio stated confidently.

"How can you be so sure?" Felissa snapped back. He didn’t like how Vinicio dismissed the thought that her mate might return.

"Because he’s the future Alpha of the Midnight Pack and your mate, Luna. A man with great dominance and pride won’t accept defeat so easily," Vinicio exclaimed boastfully.

"B-but... He’s not..." Felissa couldn’t continue her words. She looked down on him as a commoner, not because of his status but his genes. Those with noble blood, especially with Alpha genes, tend to have stronger wolves, which made their human side powerful as a result.

"You can’t be so sure about that," Draco stated with a chuckle.

"What do you mean, Your Majesty?" Felissa frowned and became confused by his words.

"It’s not my place to say, but it’s better to ask Vicenzo or his mother about their history. After all, you are entitled to know," Draco explained. He looked at the Knights around, and their faces were unpleasant.

"I will," Felissa replied and sighed deeply. She stood up and stared at the Labyrinth briefly before deciding to trust Vicenzo. "Then perhaps we should travel to the Lightcrest Pack in case they will finish the Trial earlier than expected," she stated with a smile.

Vinicio sighed in relief and informed the other Knights. Draco held his arm to Felissa and escorted her to the carriage.

A loud roar was heard when Felissa stepped on the stair, and a series of rumbling followed. The birds nearby flew away in fear for their lives.

Draco immediately covered Felissa and pushed her inside the carriage for safety.

"What is that!?" Felissa exclaimed in surprise and fear mixed together.

"It finally started," Draco whispered in understanding. He motioned Vinicio to quickly pack up, as they would leave instantly.

"Your Majesty!" Felissa trembled as she gripped Draco’s cloak.

Draco glanced back at her and offered a gentle smile. Although his eyes were cold. "The fight has started, and all we can do is have faith in them," he stated nonchalantly and entered the carriage.

"Then we should—" Felissa grabbed the door and was about to leave but stopped mid-way. She didn’t say a word before closing the door. "I shall have faith and trust my mate," she added before looking at Draco.

"Yes," Draco smiled at her. He leaned back on the chair to make himself comfortable. He understood how Felissa was overly concerned since he would be the same when it came to Rosina.

After that, they travelled to the Lightcrest Pack in silence, but on the other hand, Felissa kept praying to the Moon Goddess for Vicenzo’s safety.

The Lightcrest Pack was in 10th rank below Midnight Pack. Its territory consisted of vast mountains abundant with fruit-bearing trees. At the far end of the Pack near Beloric Pack, ice and snow showered the portion of the region.

As they got closer, the Lightcrest Pack Knights were waiting for them in their proper attire.

"Seems like they over-prepared," Draco commented upon seeing the shiny uniform of the Knights.

"Of course, they will be hosting for the King’s arrival," Felissa stated with a giggle.

The carriage stopped, and they went out. They expected the Knights to accompany them after they checked their carriages, but to their surprise, the Alpha stepped in front.

"Your Majesty," Affonso Altera, Alpha of the Lightcrest Pack, greeted Vicenzo and Felissa calmly. He curtsied and kept his posture high.

"Alpha Altera, nice to meet you," Draco stated sternly, showing dominance.

Both men shook hands together, and their grip tightened. They were showcasing their capacities and calculating their strength.

Felissa forcefully smiled and stopped herself from rolling her eyes. It was common for male wolves to show superiority against one another, but for Felissa, it was rather amusing.

"Luna Nucci, we are grateful you have chosen our Pack to be included in your Trials. Would you like some mixed fruit while waiting," Affonso stated softly and gestured toward the Pack.

"You’re welcome, Alpha, and thank you for your generosity," Felissa replied with a smile.

They didn’t ride the carriage but walked in the forest before arriving at the Pack’s center. The Lightcrest Pack members line up while staring at them with amazement. It was rare for the royal family and other higher nobles to visit lower rank Packs since they were discriminated against for their status.

"You have such a lovely home," Felissa complimented upon seeing the Pack House painted in beautiful flower art.

"Thank you, Luna. We let our pups paint the walls of our home since I don’t want to waste their talents," Affonso stated with pride.

Felissa looked around, and the residence was abundant with colors. Although some housing materials could have been better, they complimented their style.

"Your Pack have talent in art," Draco commented in approval.

"My mate actually likes to paint, and it’s one of her hobbies. Our Pack members cope with it, and this was the result," Affonso smiled sweetly while talking about his mate and that perked Felissa’s attention.

"Alpha Altera, may I ask if your wife is your true mate?" Felissa anticipated his answer.

"Ah, yes. I found my true mate years ago and fought hard to make her my Luna. You see, she’s born as a commoner, and my family is against our bond, but I’m willing to sacrifice everything to be with her until we grow old and die," Affonso explained with the happiest smile as they entered the Pack House.

As the door opened. They were greeted by a beautiful woman with a pup in hand.
