Chapter 377: The Vacation of a King
Felissa’s face twitched in annoyance while looking at the fuss outside the Pack House.
"Let me in! I paid the entrance fee. Now! Let me in! I want to see her," Fabio shouted, forcing himself to enter the door, but the Knights held their guards high.
"We don’t allow anyone inside," Vinicio stated sternly, spreading his arms wide enough to stop Fabio. The other Knights started rounding up the entrance when Fabio’s men held their swords.
"Hah!? A simple knight dares to stop me!?" Fabio exclaimed in shock. He thought he could freely meet Felissa after he paid, since for him, he bought her appearance.
Vinicio sighed in disappointment. He knew about the arrogance of other nobles since he was one and was also disdainful in his younger years, but after being humbled by Silvio, he matured.
Seeing how Fabio acted made him laugh, and he tried his best to hold it in, acting as if he was pissed.
"Lord, everyone paid for the entrance fee, but that doesn’t mean you can enter the Pack House freely. There are rules and regulations to follow while the event is going on," Vinicio explained calmly.
"Knight, I am Lady Felissa’s friend. You can tell her that, and she will let me see her," Fabio pushed further, but it was useless.
"Lord, it’s Luna Felissa Nucci, and I believe she would say the opposite of what you assume. So, please enjoy the Midnight Pack before the event starts," Vinicio stated sternly and gestured toward the stores nearby.
"Tsk," Fabio flicked his tongue and walked closer to Vinicio. Their faces were an inch apart, but Vinicio didn’t back down.
"I will remember your face, Knight," Fabio whispered and made a threatening growl before moving away.
Vinicio ensured Fabio was far from trouble and put two knights to look out for them in case they made another ruckus.
"You did well," Felissa muttered after going out of the door.
"Luna," Vinicio greeted and lowered his head. He wanted to ask the reason why Felissa had great hate toward Fabio. He could see and sense the negative aura surrounding Felissa the moment he mentioned Fabio’s name, but he didn’t want to be nosy.
"Hmm, please tighten the security. The event will start in an hour," Felissa smiled before going to the stalls and checking for the upcoming venue.
Bodies of water surrounded the Midnight Pack. It had the most extensive and widest river that connected to the other Packs in the realm. The flowing water was harsh, and swimming to the other end would be difficult. As years passed, the Pack members would throw gigantic stones/rocks to specific areas, and after repeating numerous times, they stacked at one another and created a path for passage.
But those stones were unstable, and one mistake led you towards possible death.
Felissa decided to use the Midnight Pack as their first location for the challenge. The participants mainly consisted of all able-bodied men in the Pack. Although, the commoners were more than the nobles.
As for the nobles, they were cousins and relatives of Felissa. Several of them were from the Midnight Pack, while some travelled from the other Packs due to their parents marrying their spouses outside the Pack.
Felissa wasn’t close to them since all her life, she was trapped in her room full of books to study. She barely knew them and was surprised at how many she was related to.
Currently, Felissa looked at the participant’s profiles, and there were 99 of them in total.
"I never expect them this many to join," Felissa muttered in astonishment.
"Of course, they would. It’s a rare opportunity to come by, and not all Packs do that," Draco replied nonchalantly. He strolled closer since he wanted to look at what Felissa was gazing at.
"Your Majesty," Felissa flinched since she didn’t feel Draco’s presence. She bowed her head down while greeting.
"So, Luna Nucci, where should I place myself?" Draco asked. The event would start in 15 minutes, and every participant was in front of the Pack House, where a mini stage was built.
"Your Majesty, we have placed a chair for you. Would you like to give a speech before we start?" Felissa asked to give Draco the spotlight.
"Ugh, no," Draco groaned, and his shoulder slumped. "I prefer to watch and observe. My role here is to ensure no one will dare cheat on the challenges you placed, Luna Nucci," he added with a yawn.
"Ah... Yes, Your Majesty and you can call me by my first name. I don’t mind," Felissa stated awkwardly, since hearing Draco say her last name irks her to the core.
"Then, Luna Felissa," Draco stated to ensure he got it right.
"Yes, thank you, Your Majesty, but you don’t need to say my title," Felissa muttered awkwardly. That was her longest conversation with Draco, and she felt embarrassed to converse with the King so freely.
"Understood, but can I request something, Felissa?" Draco asked, and his eyes lit up.
"Of course, Your Majesty. What is it?" Felissa asked and became nervous. She expected Draco to demand but was surprised at what he said next.
"During this whole event. Can you let me not do anything?" Draco leaned closer and whispered. He didn’t want anyone to hear that he wanted to slack.
"Sure, but may I ask the reason why?" Felissa was dumbfounded and blinked several times to ensure she heard it right.
"You see, I’m always busy back in Sabrecrown. I took this opportunity to get away from my duties and turn this as my vacation, haha," Draco laughed uncomfortably while scratching his head.
Rosina forced Draco to go into the Midnight Pack to stop her from worrying. He refused since his workload would pile up, but Gino Luoni, his Beta, suggested the idea of a work vacation.
Felissa turned to the side to stop herself from laughing, but a stifle came out in the end. She hurriedly turned to Draco and saw his embarrassed face. The tension she felt vanished after seeing how carefree Draco was and not in his authoritative state.
"I’ll make sure you will have a good vacation here, Your Majesty," Felissa replied with a big smile on her lips.

Felissa stared at the massive crowd. She became nervous that she might do it wrongly and become a laughing stock to the masses. Her breath started raging, and panic rose to her system.
"Keep calm," Felissa whispered to herself. Her vision started to become blurry, and she felt lightheaded. She tried her best to calm down, but the anxiety ate her up as darkness engulfed her.
Then a light appeared inside her.
"Luna, are you alright?" Vinicio, in his Knight Icen attire, whispered in Felissa’s ear. He made sure to put his body closer to his mate, but enough not to touch her. He knew his presence would comfort Felissa after noticing her being unwell.
Felissa felt warmth. Her body calmed down, and her wolf yelped in relief. She glanced toward Vicenzo and nodded her head without a word.
Vicenzo smiled before stepping back, and Felissa immediately felt uneasy, as if she was falling into a bottomless void.
"Please stay close," Felissa whispered in a hurry.
Vicenzo halted and took a step closer, or else gossip would revolve around them in a nasty way.
"Felissa, take your time," Draco stated on his throne. He was observing them and couldn’t help but adore the simple gestures Felissa and Vicenzo shared, even though she didn’t know it was her mate.
"Y-yes, Your Majesty," Felissa replied and looked in front. She noticed that all participants and surrounding wolves were looking at her intently, waiting for the words she would say.
"Please take a deep breath, Luna," Vicenzo whispered while acting normally.
Felissa consciously followed, and her nervousness and panic attacks vanished. She looked at her piece of paper, which had the contents she would say, but her hands were still trembling.
’I can do this! I am the Luna!’ Felissa thought before crumpling the paper and secretly handing it to Vicenzo. She smiled at the crowd, which was silent.
"Hello, citizens and visitors of Midnight Pack. Today, We are gathered to witness our great men participating in the challenges for a spot in the rank positions. Only the strong and mighty wolf shall win and get the prize!" Felissa spoke loudly and raised her hand to cheer.
Everyone was silent since they expected Felissa to act soft and feminine since that was how they perceived her, but they were wrong.
Felissa became awkward when no one responded, but she didn’t lose hope. ’Felicia, help me,’ she thought. Felicia immediately took over and did her job.
"Midnight Pack! Are you ready!!!???" Felicia shouted with a booming voice that made everyone react.
"YES!!!" they shouted in unison and started cheering.
"Also, let’s welcome our King, who will be with us until the end," Felissa stated and introduced Draco with a smile.
The crowd went silent and clapped their hands in respect for Draco.
’Felissa, why did you put me in this state of awkwardness?’ Draco silently thought while waving his hands to the crowd.
