Chapter 373: The New Knight
Felissa looked at her old room and instantly, her mind was swirling with memories of her time spent studying and learning all the books on how to become a decent Luna.
"Ah! I kinda miss this," Felissa muttered and touched her things to savor the moment.
"You mean... your trauma?" Felicia replied sarcastically, which irritate Felissa.
"Don’t use my body if you’re not in need," Felissa stated and rolled her eyes. She walked toward the closed curtains and opened them up. The dust sprayed everywhere, which made her cough.
"Ugh! They haven’t cleaned this room at all!" Felissa complained and hurriedly opened the door to let the fresh air in. She stepped out of her balcony and saw the Midnight Pack knights and Vinicio’s knights grouped together.
"What are they doing?" Felissa muttered and hurriedly knelt down to prevent them from seeing her. She wanted to eavesdrop without them knowing.
Felissa couldn’t hear what they were saying, but she could feel that terrible atmosphere they created. After a while, she saw Vanda approach the group.
"She’s cute," Felissa muttered upon seeing how Vanda walked and her body expression. She couldn’t help but laugh and adore her.
But then Felissa’s smile vanished when she noticed the tension increased and the way their faces frowned and furrowed.
"What’s going on?" Felissa whispered in confusion and leaned forward, but it was useless.
"They are fighting," Felicia answered since she couldn’t help it.
Felissa rolled her eyes and didn’t reply. She was worried that something bad would happen to Vinicio and Vanda. She didn’t care about the Midnight Pack members since she had no attachment to them.
And then Felissa caught a rare glimpse of Vanda’s power. She thought she was seeing things, but she saw how Vanda’s body disappeared and reappeared behind Abramo.
"Oh, my..." Felissa gasped in surprise and turned her back. She didn’t have the courage to look for more since it made her feel sick.
"Toughen up and make that as part of your experience," Felicia stated to calm and lectured Felissa since she knew how soft and weak-hearted she is.
"T-that’s too much... He-headless..." Felissa whispered and gagged. She felt ill and decided to head back to her bed. "I feel sick," she added and buried her head into the pillow.
After a few minutes, Felissa opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling. She was surprised that Vanda had a unique skill, and was amazed at how strong and capable she was of taking a wolf’s life without hesitation.
Felissa raised her arms and looked at her hands. She imagined herself taking a life in her own hands, but then, shivers run along her spine.
"Ah! That’s too scary. I can’t kill anyone!" Felissa whispered and curled herself. She wanted to take a nap, but her stomach grumbled.
At the same time, a knock was heard.
"Lunaaaa," Vanda’s voice was heard and immediately, Felissa sat up straight.
"C-come in!" Felissa replied loudly.
The door opened and Vanda entered with a plate in her hand. Behind her were knights carrying her things and placing them on the floor.
"I’m sorry if it took a while, but here’s your food," Vanda grinned and put the plate on the table.
Felissa gulped and went to the table slowly. The thought of Vanda killing Abramo was still evident in her brain. She stared at the plate and noticed it was all vegetables and sweets.
"Thank you, Lady Vanda. I wonder if there’s meat left?" Felissa asked, but before Vanda could answer, Vinicio cleared his throat to notify his presence.
"Luna Felissa, sorry for the intrusion," Vinicio replied and entered the room. He glanced around and noticed the dust on the furniture.
"Ah, no. It’s alright," Felissa replied while waving both hands in front of her.
"About that, the meat is spoiled. It’s not safe to eat," Vinicio explained and handed Felissa a bottle of water.
"S-spoiled!?" Felissa exclaimed and snapped her head toward Vanda since she had eaten some of it.
"Don’t worry about me. I have a really strong stomach, haha," Vanda laughed and scratched her head at the same time.
"But how did you know the meat is spoiled and why would they serve it?" Felissa asked in confusion. She thought about it and it didn’t make any sense.
Vanda opened her mouth to speak the truth that the pack was trying to get her sick, but Vinicio stopped her.
"They accidentally cooked the wrong one," Vinicio replied and glanced at Vanda, who pouted.
"Alright. Then it’s fine," Felissa sighed and looked at her plate. She picked up her fork and started eating since she was hungry.
"Before I go, I would like to introduce a new knight that will be accompanying you, Luna," Vinicio stated and stepped to the side.
The knight from earlier entered the room and bowed.
"This is uhhh," Vinicio paused and was hesitant to speak, so the knight replied.
"I am Knight Icen, Luna," Icen introduced himself and kept his eyes on the ground.
"Nice to meet you, Icen. I hope we can all work together in unity," Felissa stated with a smile. She stopped eating and faced Icen to look into his appearance. He had dark hair and the freckles on his face took the attention from his Emerald eyes.
Somehow, Felissa felt that Icen’s face was familiar, but she couldn’t figure out where or when they met before.
"Thank you, Luna. I will do my best," Icen stated before stepping back behind Vinicio.
"Is this our first time meeting, Knight Icen?" Felissa asked just to be sure.
"Yes, Luna. I’m a new knight assigned under your care," Icen replied and bowed again.
"I see, that’s great!" Felissa exclaimed and didn’t think of it much further.
On the other side, Vanda covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing loudly. She turned her back and walked away, hoping she would calm down.
Felissa glanced at Vanda in confusion, but Vinicio grabbed her attention.
"Luna, Knight Icen will be guarding you while I’m gone. I and the other knights will unpack in our chambers for a while," Vinicio informed and nervously looked at Icen.
"Sure, no problem. Also, Knight Icen should unpack as well. I will be staying here in my room for today," Felissa clasped her hands together. She didn’t want to become a burden and wanted the knights to have an easier life in Midnight Pack.
