Alpha's Bite Between My Legs -
Chapter 368: The Abdication
Chapter 368: The Abdication
"All my life, you pushed the position in my face by finding a good mate to become the Alpha, but now, you want to keep the pack to yourselves," Felissa stated, scoffing at their audacity.
Rosina smirked as she enjoyed the scene. She settled the abdication papers, but that still depends on Felissa.
"That was before! Everything is different now!" Renata raised her voice to win the starting argument.
"In what sense, Mother? Because I didn’t marry Lord Fabio like you wanted to, or is it because my mate, Sir Vicenzo, is not fit in your eyes?" Felissa asked with a low growl. She hated how that topic was still going on after she left the Pack.
Renata couldn’t answer since what Felissa had stated was the exact reason why they didn’t want to give the leadership to her.
"I guess I’m right," Felissa said after the silence.
"Okay, that’s enough," Rosina stood up to cut the chase. She looked at Aroldo and Renata before flicking her finger toward a knight holding a scroll.
The knights bowed before opening and reading the scroll’s content. "The Midnight pack’s Alpha and Luna have been subjected to Tax Evasion to Sabrecrown and Wage Theft to their Omegas for years. In response to these illegal actions, the current leaders of Midnight Pack will be subjected to the abdication of position and will be replaced by the next heir."
Felissa was stunned as she didn’t know those stuff was happening in the Pack. She glanced at Rosina and saw her friend’s pride in finding those acts.
"Those are lies!" Renata shouted in panic. She looked at Aroldo, who had slumped shoulders. "What are you doing? Do something!" she whispered to her husband.
"We are busted. We have nothing else to do about it but to accept," Aroldo replied and stepped forward to the table and was about to sign, but Renata threw the pen away.
"Are you st^pid? Do you accept having a bastard son-in-law to become the Pack’s new Alpha!?" Renata shouted and showed her true view of the situation.
"I want to have a good relationship with my daughter again," Aroldo stated nonchalantly, taking the Alpha’s stamp from his pocket.
"You’re crazy!" Renata was shocked, and her hatred grew. She glared at Felissa and shouted. "If you are not being a sl^t, nothing like this will ever happen—"
Before Renata could finish her sentence. Two knights reached her side, grasped her arms and pulled them back. She was pushed to her knees with her head down.
"You’re lucky I only sentence you with abdication, but if you’re not Felissa’s parents. Your head will be put in sticks outside the Palace gate as a warning to other packs," Rosina spouted with irritation. She glanced at Felissa and saw her deadpan expression, but she could see Felissa fisting her hands together to control herself.
"We are willingly abdicating our position, Your Majesty," Aroldo stated, putting his stamp and sign over the papers. He sighed in relief and stared at his daughter. "I hope this is enough for you to forgive me, Felissa. I will wait until you open your arms to me," he added before bowing.
"NO! NOOOO!" Renata shouted with tears in her eyes. She had worked herself all these years for the position of Luna, only to be taken away from her.
"Please take her away," Rosina stated, and the knights followed.
"I sacrificed my mate for the sake of the Pack. Don’t you dare destroy what I built, b^tch!" Renata screamed before she was out of the door.
At that moment, Felissa flinched. Her mother’s words strung deep into her heart that she was not made of love but a responsibility.
Rosina hummed before coming down to her throne and looking at the papers. She nodded her head in satisfaction before gesturing for Felissa to come down.
"Sign this," Rosina stated and pointed at the blank page.
Without hesitation, Felissa signed the papers stating that she would be the next leader of Midnight Pack. After that, Rosina put her royal seal to authorize them.
"I will give you this copy. The space right there will be your husband’s signature," Rosina explained slowly. She was observing Felissa’s reaction to see how she was.
"Okay... does that mean the Apha’s position is still blank?" Felissa asked while looking at the papers.
"Yes, you’re not married yet, and Vicenzo was not announced as your mate... yet, which means you hold the only leadership title in Midnight Pack," Rosina explained and saw Felissa’s face glimpsed with excitement.
"Thank you, Rosina. Thank you!" Felissa teared up and hugged Rosina on the side since her belly was in the way.
Rosina was surprised but liked the warmth that Felissa gave her. "Ah! I prefer you to become my Lady-in-waiting, but I guess being a Luna suits you more," she stated with a pout.
"I’ll make sure to visit you often if I have enough free time," Felissa grinned while wiping the tears away.
"I appreciate that," Rosina smiled and patted Felissa on the head. "But may I ask something?" she added.
"What is it?" Felissa replied in confusion.
"What’s your plan with your mate?" Rosina asked since she noticed the shift in Felissa’s aura regarding mates.
"About that. I still accept Vicenzo as my mate, but this is my opportunity to enjoy the freedom I finally acquired. I think it’s better to take things slow, and perhaps Vicenzo has other things he wants to do as well," Felissa explained with a small smile. She didn’t want to tell Rosina the other reason to lessen the burden.
"Alright," Rosina giggled and pinched Felissa’s cheeks. "Since everything is settled. Do you want to go shopping with me for baby clothes?" she asked with a grin.
"Huh? I thought a royal tailor—" Felissa was cut off mid-sentence.
"Yes, but I want to experience shopping like I used to," Rosina whined since she got fed up with everyone following her trail and wanted to experience the life she used to have as an ordinary wolf.
